Passing by Tiger Leaping Gorge, we also happened upon the Lisu ethnic group's bathhouse gathering (the traditional main venue is the Denggeng Hot Springs in Luzhang Town, Lushui City, near Liuku), held annually from the 2nd to the 6th day of the first lunar month (during the Spring Festival). Later, we arrived at Songtsam Shiyueliang Mountain Residence, hidden amidst the misty mid-mountain, where you can enjoy the sea of clouds and sunrise🌅

Who understands, sisters! Taking the kids to Yunnan's Dulong River truly shocked me😭 This is, in my heart, the last pure land in Yunnan, bar none. The river water rolled like sapphires, the color absolutely stunning—beyond any words describing blue, green, or teal in the world~ The winter in Dulong River is cold and bleak, like Haruki Murakami's "Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World." The kids saw such scenery for the first time and were so excited they kept clapping~ The second time was in September 2022, trekking with the kids through the rainy season in Dulong River, still primitive and mysterious~ The forest was dark green, surrounded by lingering mist, the river also dark green, mixing with milky white waves crashing over rocks, the sound of flowing water never ceasing~ This beauty contrasts with the clear blue of autumn and winter. In summer, the "ancient secret realm of Dulong River" feels like "the mountains are as quiet as ancient times, the days as long as a small year," a true escape. The kids seemed to step into a fairy tale here~ 👉The most captivating thing about Dulong River is its ancient "Facial Tattoo Women" culture. Teaching kids about different cultures is truly meaningful~ When I took the kids, by chance we met a Dulong ethnic grandmother who cooked for us and took us to see a tattooed Dulong grandmother~ There are many stories about the tattoos: some say before the 1960s, to avoid raids by border tribes, Dulong women tattooed their faces with tree branches; others say it was a tribal totem symbol~ Today, only about a dozen tattooed women remain alive, maybe fewer, the youngest around seventy years old.
