Doi Pha Hee: unseen chiang rai
Today, let me take you up to the mountains to visit “Baan Pha Hee”, a small Akha village nestled in the borderlands between Thailand and Myanmar. When I visited, it was the rainy season, and the morning mist covered the winding mountain roads, adding to the serene atmosphere. In the evenings, the village came alive as the Akha people practiced their traditional dances, preparing for their monthly celebrations held at the end of each month.
The air was fresh and humid throughout the day, with lush green mountains embracing the village. This place is also renowned for its high-quality coffee, a signature product of Chiang Rai. The village’s fertile land and cool climate make it an ideal location for growing some of the finest coffee beans in the region.
Doi Pha Hee offers not just a scenic retreat but also a cultural experience, making it a must-visit destination for those seeking peace, nature, and a taste of local traditions. #chiangrai #maesai #ผาฮี้
A must-visit famous cave in Chiang Rai
For 18 days in 2018, 12 members of a boys’ soccer team and their coach were trapped by rising floodwaters deep in Tham Luang Nang Non cave in Chiang Rai Province in northern Thailand.
The supposedly fun after-practice excursion became one of the most extraordinary search and rescue missions in history. All the boys and the coach were rescued in an extremely dangerous effort.
This is where it all happened. 🙏🏽
