We took the subway from Porto to Matosinhos Beach, and the scenery along the way was beautiful. We first went to Lidl to buy barbecue spicy chicken wings, delicious strawberries, big juicy oranges, juice, and coconut-flavored yogurt. Have a picnic at the beach and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Take off your shoes and step on the very fine light yellow sand. It is so stress-relieving! Haiou also plays in the sand on the seaside. There are many Portuguese people here to play outdoor beach volleyball, beach football, and sunbathe. The pool is only open during summer and it can queue up at the ticket booth. Rating - 5/5 2. Address - Castelo do Queijo Highlights - This is a fortress castle at the Praia de Matosinhos. It's a small fortress with a cafe inside, and covers the history of Portugal and it's military over the ages. Entry is only €0.50 per person. Rating - 4/5 3. Address - Mercado Municipal de Matosinhos Highlights - if you want to get fresh fruit or seafood from the markets, this is the place to be. The beach is wide so it has plenty of space to lie down. I could feel the sand is very soft on my feet. The beach can be reached by metro, bus and tram from Porto. Imagine going to beautiful beach that easy. If you take tram, take no 1 which goes from Infante tram stop to Foz du Douro and then you need to walk to the beach along the coast for 50 minutes. But, the view is worth of the walk. Personally, I went to the beach from Porto with metro and back with tram.

I took a day trip to Matosinhos from downtown Porto. Definitely take the 500 bus from Porta - bus fare is so cheap and the ride takes you along the coast, so you get beautiful views of the beaches and surf waves. I grabbed lunch at a tiny Japanese eatery connected to a wet/fish market (fresh sushi and sashimi for only 12 Euros!!!) and booked a coffee class on Airbnb where I learned more about coffee beans, their countries of origin, the roasting process, and tasted some of the best coffees I have ever had in my life! #portugal #matosinhos #beachvibes
