A dreamy resort set in a tropical garden along the crystal-clear Indian Ocean, just like a postcard. We especially enjoyed the spacious terrace with a cozy couch, the in-room coffee machine, and the comfortable beds. We had a wonderfully relaxing stay. The variety of restaurants is excellent, with the new Indian restaurant Rangoli being a particular highlight. We’d love to return. Oh, and not to forget, we visited the spa several times—very professional therapists at reasonable prices.

We (family of four, two Junior Suites at Turtle Bay) spent three days and nights at this resort. While we had an enjoyable stay, there were some limitations. The food was good, the pools were spacious and clean, and the rooms were large. However, the check-in process was overly lengthy. Overall, the staff was friendly and helpful, but they didn’t feel genuinely authentic. Communication between teams was a significant issue. At breakfast, staff would note your preferences, coffee type, and room number, but the next day they’d seemingly forget—completely pointless! The food was acceptable but could use some improvement in flavor. The variety of breads was disappointing in quality. The Junior Suites were spacious and well-located, but the bathroom design was inconvenient. Mirrors are positioned to the sides, making it hard to shave, and the bathroom is open to the main room, offering no privacy. The furniture on the balcony was also uncomfortable. There isn’t a proper beach on-site; you’ll need to visit the nearby Maritim Resort beach. Water activities and the location didn’t meet expectations—they were poorly managed and low quality. There’s no jetty, and the area is often unclean. The glass-bottom boat snorkeling felt underwhelming and can even be unsafe in windy weather due to the coral reefs. The team overseeing water activities lacked enthusiasm. Overall, this did not live up to the usual Westin standard.

A flight over an "underwater waterfall" is a truly unforgettable experience! You'll never forget such views! You fly and wonder: how did nature create such beauty? Such colors, such views!!! I flew with Lagoon Flight. They're located in the south of the island. They have their own check-in counter on the shore and their own runway. Flights last from 15 minutes, depending on the price. I took the 25-minute flight. We flew over the entire south of the island and made two circles over the "underwater waterfall illusion." I highly recommend it! It was goosebumps! #Lemorne

When I traveled to Mauritius, I figured I’d just be lounging on the beach and swimming in the ocean. I mean, "What else is there to do on an island?!" But it turns out there are so many amazing activities here!!! We kicked things off at Chamarel National Park. It features a waterfall, the Seven Colored Earths, and giant Aldabra tortoises! We spent the whole day walking around and got some absolutely gorgeous photos. One day, we checked out Casela Nature Parks. It's a massive park with a ton of animals, and you can even step inside the enclosures to meet many of them for an extra fee. You can also feed the giraffes. Then we went on a safari within the park. The grounds are huge, and the animals look super healthy and well-cared for. Next up was hiking Le Morne mountain. I have to say right off the bat: you need to honestly evaluate your physical fitness, because this isn't just a simple trail hike—it’s legit rock climbing. But the views at the top are unreal! You can see the entire island right in the palm of your hand! Then came the most unforgettable excursion of my life—a whale-watching tour. I had heard you weren't allowed to swim with them, but the guides gave us the green light and nobody in our group was about to argue. It was mind-blowing! Seeing these massive, majestic creatures in their natural habitat underwater! I will cherish these memories forever!!! Our next adventure was a seaplane flight over the southern part of the island. We flew right over the "underwater waterfall." It’s an optical illusion that completely boggles the mind. Interestingly enough, you can't see the "waterfall" from Le Morne mountain. The illusion is only visible from the sky and out over the ocean. It's only when you fly directly over that specific spot that you can see the full picture of the waterfall illusion. In addition to all these excursions, we drove to different beaches every day and went snorkeling. The Indian Ocean has a stunning underwater world!!! Our favorite beaches for swimming: the Le Morne area and Flic-en-Flac (this one has the longest beach on the island; my personal favorite is the stretch by La Pirogue hotel). I wasn't a huge fan of the beaches in the northern part of the island.... The southwest coast is hands down the best! Our two-week vacation flew by in the blink of an eye, and I'm already itching to go back to this incredible island!
