Flew Scoot TR421 from Melaka to Singapore, and this route is probably one of the shortest flights in and out of Singapore. It’s more like a quick hop in the air rather than a typical flight. The aircraft used was the Embraer E190, and it was actually my first time flying on this aircraft type. The cabin is configured entirely in economy class, which fits the low-cost carrier model. Despite being a smaller aircraft, the ride felt smooth and comfortable for such a short journey. Because the flight time is very short and Scoot operates as a low-cost carrier, there is no complimentary meal service onboard. If you didn’t pre-order food, then nothing is served during the flight — though honestly, the flight is so short that it hardly matters. Malacca, a UNESCO World Heritage city, is just a two-hour GRAB ride from Kuala Lumpur. Depending on traffic conditions, the GRAB ride cost us around 7,000 to 8,000 yen, even with some congestion. Compared to taxi fares in Japan, it’s incredibly affordable. We stayed overnight, but Malacca can also be enjoyed as a day trip. The mosque is located a bit farther away, so using GRAB to get there is highly recommended.
