The ferry from the main island in the country stops right here in Mgarr so it is definitely impossible to miss this place on your way to the good beaches of the island. Get busier during lunch time but there’s QR code to reserve a table. It’s a perfect spot to unwind while watching the sunset. It’s a hidden gem. Restaurant very nice, very well decorated, with an incredible view since positioned a little high in relation to the beach. The cocktails and dishes are good. We had a great time, so much so that we went back 2 days in a row. The staff is nice and some speak French. Dishes a little expensive, but we gladly pay a little more for the setting. In short, we highly recommend!

#falladventures #travel Incredible beach! Loved it. Stunning location, beautiful water, gentle slope into the sea, stays shallow for a while, great snorkelling with plenty of fish. Rocks and sand to sit on. Sunbeds and brollys available for €5 each. Watersports available if required but done way out to sea so it does not detract from the serenity of the location. Great hiking around the bay, beautiful views. Great parking and a bus stop. Lovely reasonable bar n grill onsite with great choices and good food served. The shop sells snorkelling kit and you can hire kayaks and a boat. Highly recommend this beach. Really quiet and away from the crowds of Golden Bay and St Pauls. Loved it. Will be back.

#falladventures #familytravel #naturalwonders #travel We visited Ghajn Tuffieha on our last day in Malta for about 4 hours. It is incredibly easy to access, with good bus routes (we arrived via Uber, and that was convenient as well). The water is incredibly shallow in many parts but is deeper further out and towards the left/cliffside of the bay. We didn’t bring snorkelling gear but saw many small fish anyway because the water is crystal clear and beautiful. The sand is soft, a unique amber colour, and the water is (in my opinion) the perfect temperature for cooling off in the summer. Very calm, too. There are also many small trails around the bay and cliff which we didn’t try but looked reasonably easy and with amazing viewpoints. Whilst Ghajin Tuffieha makes for a brilliant family beach, most of its visitors were young people, backpackers, and couples, with many locals - therefore there is something for everyone :). The restaurant is very nice with amazing staff and a cool vibe - it can get busy and service was somewhat slow but understandably so. Sunbeds and umbrellas are available for hire and can be placed wherever you like, although bringing your own would save both time and money. There are few downsides to this beach but it largely depends on personal preference. There is a slight plastic problem, particularly to the left of the bay where we were situated. As far as we could tell, no sharps/cans/glass or anything dangerous but definitely some single-use plastic packaging and cigarettes which obviously ruins the appeal. The water wasn’t impacted much by the litter but offers its own issues - lots of seaweed (I didn’t mind, but may irritate snorkellers), and a few boulders that are hard to see in the bright sunlight. It is very easy to stub your toe so all I’d say is be careful!!!. The restaurant had limited food options (but a really good cocktail menu). I’d also recommend arriving early - we arrived at 3pm and the main beach was packed, forcing us into a narrower, slightly more polluted strip. At 6 the crowds died down significantly and the beach was even more beautiful. Another tip would be to spend time hopping between the bays either side of Ghajin Tuffieha - you could easily spend 1-2 days within 600m of the coastline due to the many different bays, some of them more secluded than this one. Ultimately this was the best beach I visited on the main island of Malta. Perfect, almost hippie vibe, golden sand, crystal clear water.

📍Golden Bay Malta offers numerous hiking trails, and this time I ventured to a small hill beyond the beach at Golden Bay. While some might associate hiking with tiring walks and feel reluctant, this particular trail is not overly challenging. As you ascend the hiking path, you’re treated to stunning views of the sea, and during sunset, you can witness a breathtaking view of the sun setting. The rocky surfaces illuminated by the evening sun glow in a beautiful orange hue, making the hike feel effortless! The trail is quite rugged, so I highly recommend wearing sneakers! 👟

Probably the most photographed rocky outcrop in Malta is a promontory that sticks out from the coast between the Riviera Bay and Gnejna Bay. It really is a very photogenic geological feature. I’ve even seen people climbing onto the top, although I wouldn’t recommend it as I’m not sure how safe it is. Qarraba Bay in the north of Malta is one of the lesser known beaches on the island and definitely has a bit more of a wild vibe to it. It’s not really maintained as many of the other beaches are as there are no facilities on this beach but if you would like to have a more ‘wild’ experience away from the crowds, it’s a great beach to explore and the hike down is to it is fun as well #celebrateit #malta #mediterranean #beach
