JR Mihara Station, Hiroshima. I had a "Pudding Cream Bread" at "Mihara Pudding", which has a large event space inside the station. I stopped by for a transfer, and wondered what "Mihara Pudding" was, so I bought one. When I looked at the website... The definition of "Hiroshima Mihara Pudding" is "a pudding made by a person (store) who supports Mihara using at least one ingredient from Mihara." In addition to sweet puddings, they also have savory puddings (delica puddings) like chawanmushi that use ingredients from Mihara. I thought I would be able to find an interesting pudding if I looked around, but it was time to transfer, so I tried the "Pudding Cream Bread" this time. From "Mihara Station" in the west to "Onomichi Station" in the east, you often see trains bound for "Itosaki Station" when sightseeing in Hiroshima. "Itosaki Station" has a strong presence as a major transfer station for Hiroshima's conventional lines. The station is simply built, and looking around the station... There is nothing particularly conspicuous, except for a road with frequent traffic in front of the station that runs parallel to the tracks. It seems like a station where you can wait for time to pass even if you have to wait to transfer to a train. If you have a long wait to get to your next destination, it might be a good idea to use it as a station to use the restroom! The scenery along the tracks between Itosaki and Onomichi is a beautiful coastline, so don't forget to take good care of your camera here. I recommend that you keep a "seat by the sea" when transferring here to Onomichi. It also comes with Eight Heavens popular cream buns. The price is super cheap. Remember to make an appointment in advance though. Kids can make animal-shaped bread with their own hands. Use the dough to knead out animals or creative shapes. Draw again with a chocolate pen. Finally the baking is completed. to educate and entertain Both adults and children can have fun together. More in-depth understanding of factory processes through VR technology, It's both interesting and educational! The staff speaks simple English. So it’s no problem not to understand Japanese. And the classrooms are very clean. You can also enjoy the bread on the spot after making it! The most important thing is that it is only 5 minutes from Hiroshima Airport . Very convenient. The "Mihara Castle Ruins" are located directly beneath JR Mihara Station (or rather, the station is built on top of the castle). 😱 This castle was built by the famous Sengoku period warlord Kobayakawa Takakage. It was situated near the Seto Inland Sea, and at high tide, the castle appeared to float on the water, earning it the beautiful nickname "Floating Castle (Ukishiro)." Although the castle tower is gone, the massive and magnificent stone base remains, allowing you to feel the grandeur of the Sengoku period as soon as you get off the train! 🌊 This is definitely the most easily accessible ancient castle ruin in all of Japan, requiring absolutely no walking – super friendly for independent travelers! 👍 📝 Complete Castle Climbing Guide: 1. 🚄 Zero Distance "Exit the Station and Enter the Castle" No need to look for directions! Simply exit from the North Exit of JR Mihara Station, and you'll immediately see the massive stone walls. The station even has a staircase leading directly to the castle tower (the castle's foundation)—the distance is unbelievably close! 2. 📸 Must-Take Photo! Shinkansen x Ancient Castle Walls This is a mecca for railway enthusiasts and history buffs. Standing on the castle tower, you can see the Shinkansen rushing past at incredibly close range. It's about a 10-15 minute walk. Car Take the Mihara Bypass and get off near Nakanomachi IC. It's easy to find, as you'll see a large torii gate nearby. Takimiya Shrine enshrines several deities, including Susanoo-no-Mikoto. Founded long ago, originally called "Sakuramiya" and later renamed "Takimiya," this historic shrine has attracted local worshippers since ancient times. It often hosts annual festivals and other annual events, strongly reflecting local traditions.

About a 17-minute walk from Hiroshima Airport is Hattendo Village, the factory of Hattendo, famous for its melt-in-your-mouth cream buns. I had a little time before check-in, so I walked there. I arrived around 3 PM and was hoping to get the limited-edition Setouchi lemon, but unfortunately it was sold out. I bought the seasonal chestnut instead. You can also buy it at Tokyo Station, but perhaps because it was freshly made, it tasted even better than usual. lol Hiroshima Airport is in a rather tricky location, so it can be hard to kill time if you arrive early, but I recommend this place. ✨ They also had drinks available for eat-in!

Address: 3-5-15 Honmachi, Mihara City, Hiroshima Prefecture Transportation: About a 15-minute walk from JR/Shinkansen Mihara Station The Renritsu Torii of Oshima Shrine is said to have gained fame because many Shinkansen passengers noticed it from the train. However, to see the torii from the train, you need to be traveling southward from Mihara. If you're coming from the Okayama direction, you won't be able to see it. To reach the shrine, you'll pass through a very quiet residential area. Although the road conditions are not bad, the path is mountainous, requiring some effort despite the short distance. If you're driving, you can park directly at the shrine, as there is a parking lot nearby. The shrine itself is small and not crowded. There is no shrine office, and when I visited, there were no other people around. It's extremely peaceful and tranquil, but you might not stay long since there's not much to do after paying your respects. Due to the surrounding residential area and the slope, taking a clear photo of the Renritsu Torii from the base of the shrine can be challenging, as part of it may be obscured. Overall, if you have an hour or two to spare in Mihara and are unsure where to go, this could be worth a visit. However, if you're planning a special trip just for this, some might find it underwhelming.

A trip to Hiroshima to meet a Japanese friend! Because it's not a popular tourist destination for Koreans, there were only two flights per day, and unlike other destinations, there was little information about restaurants, attractions, and things to do. However, thanks to a friend who lived in Hiroshima, I was able to explore the city and experience the romance of a small town. It was a wonderful time. We visited Hiroshima Castle, the iconic landmark of Hiroshima, the Atomic Bomb Dome, a place that was ravaged by American bombings, and the beautiful island of Miyajima, home to charming deer. The interior is casual yet stylish, offering a relaxed atmosphere perfect for waiting for your flight. Large windows provide a view of planes taking off and landing, adding to the travel excitement. Flights to Tokyo, Sapporo, Naha, Sendai, China, Korea, Vietnam, Taiwan, etc. Perhaps because it is located in the mountains, it is quiet when you arrive at the airport, and the surrounding scenery is tranquil and relaxing. The terminal is compact, but has all the necessary facilities, and it is easy to find souvenirs unique to Hiroshima, making it convenient for shopping before boarding. When I went out to the observation deck, I could see the runway and watch the planes take off and land up close. In particular, the sight of the planes taking off with the distant mountains in the background was impressive, and I felt a bit of a travelling spirit. The downside is that it is a little inconvenient to access, but it seems like time flows more slowly, so it is one of my favorite airports.
