JR Mihara Station, Hiroshima. I had a "Pudding Cream Bread" at "Mihara Pudding", which has a large event space inside the station. I stopped by for a transfer, and wondered what "Mihara Pudding" was, so I bought one. When I looked at the website... The definition of "Hiroshima Mihara Pudding" is "a pudding made by a person (store) who supports Mihara using at least one ingredient from Mihara." In addition to sweet puddings, they also have savory puddings (delica puddings) like chawanmushi that use ingredients from Mihara. I thought I would be able to find an interesting pudding if I looked around, but it was time to transfer, so I tried the "Pudding Cream Bread" this time. From "Mihara Station" in the west to "Onomichi Station" in the east, you often see trains bound for "Itosaki Station" when sightseeing in Hiroshima. "Itosaki Station" has a strong presence as a major transfer station for Hiroshima's conventional lines. The station is simply built, and looking around the station... There is nothing particularly conspicuous, except for a road with frequent traffic in front of the station that runs parallel to the tracks. It seems like a station where you can wait for time to pass even if you have to wait to transfer to a train. If you have a long wait to get to your next destination, it might be a good idea to use it as a station to use the restroom! The scenery along the tracks between Itosaki and Onomichi is a beautiful coastline, so don't forget to take good care of your camera here. I recommend that you keep a "seat by the sea" when transferring here to Onomichi. Even the single counter seats have outlets, making it a very travel-friendly setting. 2. Food Displays: The colorful displays at the entrance whet your appetite. True to its Hiroshima Airport roots, the oyster menu is particularly eye-catching. 3. Onion Gratin Soup: This is the famous soup that Marilyn Monroe praised during her visit to Japan! The harmony of the sweetness of the sautéed onions, the rich cheese, and the broth-soaked bread is truly a work of art! It was a first for me.. haha 4. #winterescape #Buttsuji #hiroshima I visited Buttsuji, and it was one of the most peaceful and visually stunning autumn trips I’ve experienced in Hiroshima. Located about one hour by bus from Mihara, it makes for a perfect half-day escape into nature. The journey itself is relaxing, passing through quiet countryside scenery that slowly prepares you for the calm atmosphere of the temple. One important thing to note is that the last return bus is around 3:00 PM (at least at the time I visited), so careful planning is necessary. It’s best to check the bus schedule in advance and start your trip early in the morning. Since buses are not very frequent, missing the last one could cause inconvenience. I visited during Momiji season, and the view was absolutely breathtaking. The maple leaves were at their peak, covering the temple grounds in brilliant shades of red, orange, and yellow. The historic wooden buildings of the temple stood beautifully among the colorful trees, creating a perfect harmony between nature and tradition. Every path I walked felt like stepping into a living painting. The fallen leaves blanketed the ground, and when the sunlight filtered through the branches, the entire area seemed to glow. The peaceful environment, the crisp autumn air, and the quiet spiritual atmosphere made the experience unforgettable. If you love autumn scenery and tranquil temples, Buttsuji during Momiji season is definitely worth visiting, just be sure to plan your return bus carefully.

Children can create animal-shaped or other creative bread designs using dough, decorate them with chocolate pens, and bake them to perfection. It's an educational and entertaining activity that both kids and adults can enjoy together. The VR technology also provides an in-depth look at the factory processes, making it both fun and educational. The staff can speak basic English, so language barriers won't be an issue. It's about a 10-15 minute walk. Car Take the Mihara Bypass and get off near Nakanomachi IC. It's easy to find, as you'll see a large torii gate nearby. Takimiya Shrine enshrines several deities, including Susanoo-no-Mikoto. Founded long ago, originally called "Sakuramiya" and later renamed "Takimiya," this historic shrine has attracted local worshippers since ancient times. It often hosts annual festivals and other annual events, strongly reflecting local traditions.

About a 17-minute walk from Hiroshima Airport is Hattendo Village, the factory of Hattendo, famous for its melt-in-your-mouth cream buns. I had a little time before check-in, so I walked there. I arrived around 3 PM and was hoping to get the limited-edition Setouchi lemon, but unfortunately it was sold out. I bought the seasonal chestnut instead. You can also buy it at Tokyo Station, but perhaps because it was freshly made, it tasted even better than usual. lol Hiroshima Airport is in a rather tricky location, so it can be hard to kill time if you arrive early, but I recommend this place. ✨ They also had drinks available for eat-in!

Address: 3-5-15 Honmachi, Mihara City, Hiroshima Prefecture Transportation: About a 15-minute walk from JR/Shinkansen Mihara Station The Renritsu Torii of Oshima Shrine is said to have gained fame because many Shinkansen passengers noticed it from the train. However, to see the torii from the train, you need to be traveling southward from Mihara. If you're coming from the Okayama direction, you won't be able to see it. To reach the shrine, you'll pass through a very quiet residential area. Although the road conditions are not bad, the path is mountainous, requiring some effort despite the short distance. If you're driving, you can park directly at the shrine, as there is a parking lot nearby. The shrine itself is small and not crowded. There is no shrine office, and when I visited, there were no other people around. It's extremely peaceful and tranquil, but you might not stay long since there's not much to do after paying your respects. Due to the surrounding residential area and the slope, taking a clear photo of the Renritsu Torii from the base of the shrine can be challenging, as part of it may be obscured. Overall, if you have an hour or two to spare in Mihara and are unsure where to go, this could be worth a visit. However, if you're planning a special trip just for this, some might find it underwhelming.

A trip to Hiroshima to meet a Japanese friend! Because it's not a popular tourist destination for Koreans, there were only two flights per day, and unlike other destinations, there was little information about restaurants, attractions, and things to do. However, thanks to a friend who lived in Hiroshima, I was able to explore the city and experience the romance of a small town. It was a wonderful time. We visited Hiroshima Castle, the iconic landmark of Hiroshima, the Atomic Bomb Dome, a place that was ravaged by American bombings, and the beautiful island of Miyajima, home to charming deer. We sampled Hiroshima's signature okonomiyaki, Miyajima's must-try grilled oysters, and Japan's quintessential draft beer... It was a trip that left me speechless.
