I recommend Hotel Terrace the Garden Mito near Mito Station. I stayed here for a two-day, one-night trip. I dropped off my luggage at 10 a.m., and the staff was incredibly friendly. The interior was clean and spacious, and I loved the bedding. Since it was my last day of the trip, I slept like a log. There's a large shopping mall nearby, so I went to buy some last-minute items. There's also a SAZA coffee shop right next door. The breakfast was delicious, and I highly recommend the French toast. The highlight is the torii gate in the sea. If the weather is good, it's truly beautiful. Watching the waves and the sea is incredibly relaxing. Then, head to Nakaminato Fish Market 🐟 Foodies will love it! The seafood is incredibly fresh. There's sashimi, grilled food, fried food, and the prices are reasonable. Walking around and eating is so enjoyable. You'll be full from lunchtime until the afternoon. You can drink one cup for just ¥300. The map of Ibaraki Prefecture has a map of the sake breweries and the manufacturing process, so it's easy to understand. Decided to head to Kairakuen so we drove and parked next to the park. It was a lovely day, sunny and windy. Lovely swan posing elegantly next to the cherry blossom tree. During the season, all you need to do is just find a park and walk in, you will find yourself surrounded by lovely flowers. Anyway it was until the very end of the walk that we realized we have not entered the Kairakuen which requires entrance fee. We have thought the park that we walked was Kairakuen. 😅 Blur me who did not do the research well.
