If you're going snorkeling in Miyakojima, this is the place to be 🐠 I visited "Nakanoshima Beach" (also known as Kayaffa) ✨ The excitement of climbing down the rocky path to get to the beach ✨ No matter how many times I go, I'm always blown away by the beach spreading out right before my eyes ✨ Known as a natural aquarium, this beach has enough depth for you to enjoy it from morning until evening ✨ I highly recommend bringing a full snorkeling set with you 🏊 You'll need to swim a little to reach the zone where you can see the corals and fish clearly, so fins are an absolute must 🏊🐠 There are tons of colorful fish, including larger ones and clownfish ✨ It might be a good idea to bring a GoPro or a waterproof camera ✨ Since there are no toilets, showers, or running water, I recommend bringing your own food, drinks, and plastic bottles filled with fresh water ✨ There is some shade by the rocks, but bringing a pop-up tent is highly recommended 🙆 It's a spacious, bay-like beach, making it perfect for when you just want to kick back and relax ✨ *Toguchi no Hama Beach is about a 15-minute drive away, and they have coin showers there, which is super convenient to use ✨ It's about a 40-minute drive from Miyako Airport 🚙 Cross the Irabu Ohashi Bridge and head toward Shimojishima. It is about 2 kilometers long, and along the way you can overlook the intersection of the Pacific Ocean and the East China Sea. The site also retains the lighthouse and strange rock, which is beautiful and layered. It is one of the must-visit photo spots on Miyako Island. Recommended tour route: Walking along the headland trail, there are observation decks along the way, where you can slowly stop and take pictures, grabbing the beautiful scenery from every angle. 🎊 I just spent a wonderfully relaxing 3-day, 2-night getaway at Canopy, which just opened its doors in May 2026. ☺️✨ I was so blown away by the elegant atmosphere and top-notch hospitality that I feel like I absolutely have to stay here every single time I visit Miyakojima! ❤️ Taking in the spectacular views from the infinity pool at the rooftop bar was an incredibly fulfilling experience that will stay with me for a lifetime. ✨ Can you even find a view this beautiful anywhere else? ❤️❤️❤️ Sightseeing is fun, but dedicating a 3-day, 2-night retreat to just unwinding at the hotel was an irreplaceable and healing experience. ✨ The food was amazing, too! This place completely exceeded our expectations! Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with amazing flavors. The seafood platter with fresh sea grapes was super refreshing, and the juicy steak paired with garlic chips and dried pineapple offered incredible textures. The highlight was definitely the clay pot rice cooked with tender pork and juicy oysters—pure comfort in every bite! We also loved the fresh fruit sours (the mango and pineapple ones were packed with real fruit and so refreshing). You can truly taste the chef's creativity and passion in every dish. I visited "Shima no Eki Miyako" in Miyakojima✨ It has a massive signboard, so you'll spot it right away🙆 Step inside, and true to its name, delicious foods from Miyakojima and specialty products line the shelves of this delightful shop✨ Souvenir cosmetics, sweets, and of course Awamori liquor are available, and there's also a food court with a bakery, tempura, Miyako soba, and seafood bowls✨ They also stock plenty of seasonal fruits and local island vegetables✨ During my visit, there was an amazing variety of mangoes🥭✨ They even offer shipping services for your souvenirs✨ If you're on a girls' trip, you could easily spend an hour here!
