The view of the entire market from the third-floor elevator is breathtaking. It opens at 8:40 PM for bulk trading, but also offers retail. The third floor is a small commodity market. [Dongfengba Seven-Arch Floating Bridge] Primarily for its scenery, the sunset is absolutely stunning. There are more seagulls around 3 PM, but they all fly away after 5 PM. [Guandu Ancient Town] I recommend the [Yunzi Museum]. Behind the museum are production factories, but they are generally not open to the public. 【Wu Tong Zou Yin】, known as one of the "Two Wonders of Copper Art" alongside cloisonné, offers guided tours by intangible cultural heritage instructors. Having visited the Torch Festival Square in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province many times, I set out with a desire to fill in the gaps by touring another Yi ethnic area in China—the "October Solar Calendar Cultural Park" in Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, specifically the "Sun Square" (the venue for the Torch Festival). Upon entering the square, the first thing that catches the eye is the large central fire basin, surrounded by six smaller fire basins. This classic layout symbolizes the Yi people's "six ancestral branches." Every midsummer during the Torch Festival, just like in Liangshan Prefecture, roaring fires are lit here. The Bimo priests preside over the grand fire worship ceremony, while Yi people dance the left-foot dance and play the sanxian around the bonfire, creating a lively and festive atmosphere. Climbing the steps leads to the magnificent three-story circular observatory platform. The lower, middle, and upper platforms represent the three realms of heaven, humans, and earth, respectively, while the five stair entrances correspond to the five seasons of the October Solar Calendar. We carefully admired the forty sets of giant relief sculptures on the platform walls: over 7,000 figures and nearly 2,000 animals vividly depict the Yi people's creation myths and migration stories. At the top of the observatory, ten ochre-colored totem pillars stand tall, with the central ancestral pillar crowned by a striking sculpture of "Three Women Supporting the Sun." From here, the buildings of Chuxiong city and the distant green mountains come into full view. Strolling around Sun Square, the surrounding plants flourish. It was the twelfth lunar month, and in subtropical monsoon climate Chuxiong, the blooming magnolia flowers pleasantly surprised me, and I couldn't help but capture their graceful image!
