This is nagatoro Iwadatani located in Nagatoro, Saitama prefecture. It is only a few minutes walk away from Nagatoro station. It makes a perfect day trip from Tokyo, takes about 2 hours from Tokyo station. I was lucky enough to have a Japanese friend to help me book a special Charcoal operated train to nagatoro. That was another experience. The Iwadani are layered rocks that represent Nagatoro in Chichibu, Saitama Prefecture. The currents of the Arakawa River eroded crystalline schists in the area, creating a fault valley and rock terraces. It’s a really beautiful place to visit

Nagatoro Fall Foliage
#fallingforfall
Just a few stations away from Chichibu is Nagatoro, a very pretty and scenic tourist attraction. Autumn fall foliage at Nagatoro along the Arakawa river is stunning and colourful.
To enjoy the picturesque view, you may also wish to take the river cruise ride along the river. There are three different courses, with 2 short courses and the last trip being just a combination of the first 2 courses combined to 1 full long cruise. There will be 2 of the captains to help operate the boat once every one is on board the boat.
To get to the Arakawa river section where the boat is, you will have to walk around 20 minutes from the Nagatoro station (under Chichibu line).
Hodosan Shrine in Nagatoro
We revere and respect the exceptional power and vitality of nature as deities, accepting both the blessings and threats that nature produces, and cherish the 'now' in our daily lives. Hodosan, blessed with nature, is indeed a sacred space where the gods reside, and we hope you will visit with a pure heart to experience this serene time.
In Nagatoro Town, there are 11 shrines managed by the chief priest of Hodosan Shrine. People respect the gods who bestow blessings upon them as they would their ancestors, calling them Ujigami-sama and Chinju-sama, and refer to themselves as Ujiko (descendants of the gods). They hold festivals in spring and autumn to offer gratitude and seek protection, and they hold these traditions in high esteem.

Our trip to Japan was absolutely amazing, especially when we wandered around the lively city and visited Hodosan Shrine. The blooming spring scenery was breathtaking, and the peaceful views were simply awe-inspiring, giving us memories we'll cherish forever.
Renowned for its exquisite sculptures, this sacred shrine was bestowed with the prestigious one-star accolade in the esteemed 2011 Michelin Green Guide Japan. Revered for its divine presence, the shrine's deities stand as guardians, offering solace and protection to those seeking refuge from the wrath of nature's fury. With an unwavering commitment to safeguarding humanity from the perils of natural disasters, this hallowed sanctuary stands as a testament to the enduring power of faith and the indomitable spirit of the Japanese people.

Nagatoro's small red leaf park
Initially, it was the red leaf information for An'nei that was seen, knowing this point near Tokyo.
So I took the Ginza line to the Chichibu line to Nagatoro early in the morning at 5 o'clock,
The rain was quite heavy in the morning,
Small village,
The mist is floating in the distant mountains.
After a short walk, I saw 2-3 people.
The very small entrance by the stream is called Tsuki no Ishi Red Leaf Park,
Because it's too early, there is a kind of charge of 300 yen for lighting after 16 o'clock.
Because I was too early, I just went in
After entering, I found that not all of them turned red,
Fortunately, I came across a few red leaves near the ground,
So I took a picture and ran away contentedly.
Ah, it's really sleepy too early.
PS: When I got off at Kumagaya Station and ate bread, I looked up at the station and happened to meet a smiling face. Hehe
