Nagoya: More Than Just a Stopover City
Don't think of Nagoya as just a stopover city!
For beginners, if an airline offers a round-trip ticket for just 3,XXX baht, book it without hesitation.
Nagoya is located in Aichi Prefecture, which is more accessible than Tokyo or Osaka.
Never heard of Aichi Prefecture? 🤔
It's situated between Tokyo and Kyoto. Most people are more familiar with the name Nagoya than Aichi. It's also one of the easiest cities to travel to after Fukuoka.
Nagoya is a city in Aichi Prefecture, part of the Chubu region. The nearest airport is Chubu Centrair International Airport (NGO).
It's a convenient starting point for visiting popular destinations like Takayama, Shinhotaka, Kamikochi, Gero, Shirakawa-go, Hida Furukawa, and even places in Mie Prefecture or Nabana no Sato.
What does Nagoya have to offer?
Nagoya Castle, TOYOTA Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology, Ghibli Park, Oasis 21, Nagoya TV Tower, Osu Kannon Temple, Osu Shopping Street, Sakae shopping district, Yanagibashi Central Market, Nagoya City Science Museum, Legoland Japan Resort, SCMaglev and Railway Park, Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium, Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens, and more.
Where should you stay?
It's simple. Recommended areas to stay are around Nagoya Station (Meitetsu Nagoya Station or JR Nagoya Station) or Sakae, which is just two subway stops away from JR Nagoya Station via the Higashiyama Line (Nagoya-Fushimi-Sakae). It takes only 5 minutes and costs 210 yen.
How to get to your accommodation from the airport?
The airport is located outside Nagoya city, and there are three Meitetsu train options. The recommended one is the Meitetsu Airport Limited Express "μ-SKY," which offers a comfortable ride and takes only 28 minutes to reach Meitetsu Nagoya Station (not JR Nagoya Station, but they are within walking distance). The fare is 1,430 yen.
With this, you don't have to worry about getting lost or not knowing your way! 😂
How to explore the city?
If you're not confident about venturing outside the city, start by walking around Nagoya-Fushimi-Sakae-Yaba Cho stations. These areas are all within walking distance. There are also four main subway lines, and using them is similar to other cities.
Rest assured, your potential to explore goes beyond this!
