Cingjing Sheep Farm: A Must-Visit Destination ^^.
On our first day in Taiwan, we rented a car to stay one night in Cingjing. Traveling from Taipei to Cingjing is quite challenging and far, so it's more convenient to rent a car. The weather on Cingjing Mountain is very nice, cool, and even a bit cold :) We really love Cingjing. It's definitely worth the visit. The view from our room was stunning, and we got to feed the sheep. The sheep were very cute and friendly, not afraid of people at all. If you have the chance to visit during the cherry blossom season, it would be incredibly beautiful^^

When we traveled to the Forgetfulness Forest in Zhushan, Nantou, we happened to encounter a rainy day, making the entire forest particularly serene. Walking along the wet paths, raindrops pattered on the lake's surface, and the distant dead trees loomed mysteriously in the mist, creating a scene full of enchantment. We admired the picturesque scenery while chatting about life's little moments, occasionally stopping to take photos and capture the beauty of the moment.
In such weather, one can truly feel the meaning behind the name 'Forgetfulness Forest,' as if all worries and stress are washed away with the rain. Despite the muddy paths, we felt relaxed and content, thanks to the tranquility and harmony with nature.

Nantou Yuchi Township - Sesui Forest Trail.

Beyond the Clouds and Mountains - Old England Group Chafee Music Castle
Summer has arrived, and with temperatures soaring above 30 degrees, it's unbearable. All I want to do is escape this furnace. The first place that comes to mind is Qingjing. Fortunately, there's a buy-one-get-one-free promotion on weekdays during the summer vacation, so I immediately made a reservation. Here's a brief overview:
Advantages:
1. Free phytoncide with temperatures around 22-24 degrees. Remember to bring a jacket as it gets cold at night.
2. Complimentary afternoon tea and snacks, all you can eat.
3. The four-person room has a large terrace where you can enjoy afternoon tea while petting cats (many cats will come to you and are not afraid of strangers, cat lovers will adore this place).
4. Named the Music Castle, each room indeed has high-end audio equipment, not just ordinary bedside speakers but amplifiers and DVDs. The sound quality is quite good, and the brand is SONY. You can relax and listen to music, whether you bring your own CDs or borrow them for free from the hotel.
5. In the evening, there's a stargazing wine tasting session with one alcoholic drink or juice per person. After 10 PM, free late-night snacks like instant noodles are also provided.
6. Breakfast is either European or Japanese style and is quite delicious.
7. The butler service is excellent. From check-in to room introduction, including how to use the facilities, everything is explained in detail. I brought an instant camera, but the batteries were dead, and the nearest convenience store was a bit far. So, I shamelessly asked the butler if I could buy some from him. He found new batteries in a drawer and refused to charge me, which really touched me.
Now, for some minor drawbacks to be aware of:
1. Since it's located deeper in the area, the B&B does not provide dinner, so you'll need to drive out to eat, which can be inconvenient. Alternatively, you can ask the butler to help order takeout from Old England.
2. For elderly people with mobility issues, be cautious. The Music Castle has multiple staircases. Although the butler will help with luggage, you still need to climb stairs.
Conclusion: At 7500 TWD per night (weekday), it's not cheap, but the memories are priceless, and the unlimited phytoncide is a bonus. Life is short, and it's rare to steal a moment of leisure. Time seems to freeze here, making it perfect for a 3-day, 2-night stay to enjoy a peaceful mountain retreat with the whole family.
Day trip to Sun Moon Lake - Hello Kitty rides
#100WaysOfTravel Second activity follow with cable car riding Sun Moon Lake. We continued to cable riding and took the cable car with trademark Hello Kitty. After we entered the station then we proceed to several souvenirs shop and get our favourite tiny cable keychain. Then we proceed to board our cable car to ride to the next island. Along the cable car ride, we witnessed quite number of extraordinary views on the Sun Moon Lake. We also visited local cultural villages to discover local Taiwan minority ethnic. Overall rides and cultural villages were brilliant. Do encourage overseas tourists to experience it.
Climbing Taiwan's highest peak, Yushan.
For those who regularly exercise, as long as you secure a spot at Paiyun Lodge, you can climb Yushan quite easily (provided you don't suffer from altitude sickness)!
On the first day, start from the trailhead in the morning and walk slowly. You should reach Paiyun Lodge by around 4 PM. If you're lucky, you can rest a bit and catch the sunset. After a quick dinner, you can take a short nap! On the second day, put on your headlamp and carefully follow the group in the dark. The final stretch is a steep scree slope that requires both hands and feet. Then, you'll wait for the sunrise at the summit. Standing at the highest point in Taiwan and watching the beautiful sea of clouds is truly unforgettable!
Nantou Ren'ai: God's Canvas - Wu Jie Siyuan Suspension Bridge

The entrance to Wu Jie Dam and Momonaer Waterfall can be found by walking a short distance down from Siyuan Inn. The small suspension bridge, made of steel cables, spans 100 meters.
It's a great place to rest after visiting the waterfall, with delicious Magao sausages, refreshing Aiyu jelly, and unbeatable mountain views. Beautiful!
After crossing the bridge, there's a steep slope that requires some mental preparation. Further up is the Taipower dormitory and the starting point to Momonaer Waterfall at the Earth God Temple.
From the dam body, you can see the full view of the Zhuoshui River. It is recommended to visit during the full water period to experience the grandeur of the reservoir.
Xitou Forest Recreation Area and Monster Village: A Summer Retreat
Located in the Xitou National Forest Recreation Area, there is also a famous attraction nearby called Monster Village. It's an ideal spot for summer, making it a perfect retreat from the heat.

Each time the boat turned behind a peninsula, new vistas were revealed - from the iconic Lalu Island to the picturesque temples nestled amidst verdant hills. 📌 Sun Moon Lake Tour Guide:
First of all, Sun Moon Lake is really small, with only three main attractions, which can be reached by ferry in turn. 💡The order of the ferry is Xuan Guang Temple-Ita Thao Pier-Shuishe Pier. Remember, you must get off at each pier, otherwise you will have to queue up again at the next pier. The waiting time is about 20 minutes for a ferry, so please be patient.
Coming out of the parking lot, you can see the landmark stone of Sun Moon Lake (Figure 2️⃣), and then walk down to the pier, this pier is called Xuan Guang Temple. In addition to enjoying the beautiful scenery, there are also famous tea eggs (Figure 3️⃣) that can be bought for tasting, with a good taste, slightly thick skin, and very chewy.
Then come to Ita Thao Pier, this is the place of the Thao aborigines, it is the busiest section of the three piers. There is a snack street (not long) here, where you can buy some souvenirs and eat meals and snacks. In addition, the cable car is also at this pier, you need to walk a distance (Figure 4️⃣), and you can enjoy the sparkling scenery while queuing! The other side of the cable car is the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village, you can go in and play, just make up the difference. If you don't want to play, you can queue up to take the cable car back to the pier.
Finally, it is Shuishe Pier, which is even smaller. There is a small row of hotels by the lake, where you can stay for one night and enjoy the beautiful scenery by the lake. There are also some cafes in the guide, but we didn't go.
In summary, it takes about 4 hours to play, and the time can be arranged by yourself. If you like cycling around the lake, it takes about 6 hours. In short, Sun Moon Lake is really beautiful and worth a visit! 🤩

Nantou Hidden Autumn Mountain Residence Accommodation
The weather was cool and I came to Nantou Qiu Shanju for a three-day vacation. There are six double-detached accommodations and two four-person villas. There are not many rooms and the space is exquisite. Each room has a large hot spring hot and cold pool, which is very enjoyable. , here is commonly known as Beauty Hot Spring, the spring quality is great! The welcome fruit snacks are also quite rich. The upstairs bedroom, downstairs living room and hot spring pool are quite spacious and comfortable. There is a pond view in the back. It is a quiet and leisurely resort. It is indeed a very suitable place for insta worthy pictures. The whole area is not big, but the overall vibe is very suitable for photo taking, no matter where you take and how is your post the picture will still be perfect.
The service of the service staff are polite and professional.
During dinner the food plating looks atas however the portion is not that big, Unlimited supply of red and white wine for dinner.
Although the location is at Sun Moon Lake, however you can’t see Sun Moon Lake from the room’s window. Friends who like to drink should buy alcohol at the convenience store before checking in. The mini bar in the room will give you 2 bottles of beer, which can be refilled once.

Inako Valley View restaurants (伊拿谷景觀餐廳) is one of the famous restaurant located in Nantou, Taiwan where both Taiwanese and tourists go to to have their meals!
We make a reservation with the restaurant for dinner and was suggested by them that if we are ordering their whole chicken, do let them know during the phone reservation. If not, you may have to wait for an hour.
We were seated by the window and we enjoyed the dinner with a good view. We manage to catch the sunset as well!
We went ahead with their dinner set menu which comprises soup, vegetables whole chicken, fish and 2 bowl of rice. The pricing of their set menu is pretty reasonable and they have different number of pax set menu too.

Qing Jing Farm at Taichung
Qing Jing Farm about 2 hours from Taichung City by taxi.
Bought our tickets at entrance and senior citizens tickets are available. Remember to stamp your hand at the entrance as a proof of valid entry.
Temperature here is nice, around 19 degrees celsius. You can start to enjoy the mountain view with a lots sheep. You also can touch and take pictures with the sheep.
There are shows available at 2:30pm and 3:45pm, do not miss it, the staff will announce the show time when you walk around the farm.
It is recommended for a visit.

While checking into our homestay in Qingjing farm area, we were recommended to have our lunch at one of the famous restaurant at 好雞婆土雞城!
The restaurant was popular for its roasted chicken.
Sadly by the time we reached the restaurant, the roasted chicken were already sold out.
We took up their set menu for 2 pax at TWD980 which comes with 4 dishes, 1 soup and 2 bowl of rice. They have different type of set menu that caters to the number of pax.

They are famous for its sun moon lake tea and if you love to eat tea eggs (茶叶蛋), do try out HOHOCHA’s tea egg! It is extremely good. However, currently you can only buy 2 tea eggs per pax due to the lack of eggs in Taipei.
Entrance ticket cost TWD70, and you can head to 3rd floor to have a small afternoon tea (tea egg + a cup of tea) with no additional charge.

Well-known Qingjing Farm in Taiwan
Most of us here must have already heard or went to the Qingjing farm which is located at Nantou County!
There are several ways to get to the Qingjing Farm depending on which mode you would prefer.
We went there by taking car from Taichung City and took us 1.5h or slightly longer to get there due to many coaches on the mountain road.
Another way to get there would be to take their public bus known as ‘南头客运’. It’ll be a direct bus up to Qingjing Farm and it is less costly compared to taking car or taxi.
The Mountain View is extremely beautiful and you get to see many cute sheep roaming around freely!
We are allowed to buy the sheep’s food which is a pack of grass and feed them but do take note that, some of them might get a little excited when they see food.
There will be a sheep shearing show during the weekends as well.
