On my self-drive trip in Ngari, I encountered countless heartwarming moments.
🌄 I stood on the Zhabura Earth Observation Deck, where the endless snow-capped mountains and blue sky formed a magnificent picture. At that moment, I was deeply shocked by the magic of nature.
🌅 Driving through the magical land of Xiayigou Earth Forest, every ravine and every light and shadow seemed to tell an ancient and mysterious story, making me feel like I was in a fairyland forgotten by time.
🏛 Standing at the entrance of the Guge Ruins, I seemed to hear the whispers of history echoing in my ears. The broken walls told the story of a thousand years of glory and vicissitudes, making me deeply in awe of the ancient civilization on this land.
🌄🌅 On this vast land, I found my own poetry and distance. Every encounter and farewell made me cherish every moment of this journey even more.

[Unlock the Secret of Ali Road Trip: Shiquanhe, the Pearl on the Horizon].
🎉 On the 11th, the Cultural and Tourism Resources Promotion Conference was grandly opened, officially announcing the launch of the "Traveling in Ali" series of activities! This is an invitation to the distance, an exploration of the destination of the soul. And I, a traveler longing for freedom, am ready to embark on this road trip to find the pearl on the horizon forgotten by the world - Shiquanhe Town.
🏙 Shiquanhe Town, located in the southern part of Ali, is a town with a charm that rivals any big city. It is located in the Shiquanhe Valley, surrounded by snow-capped mountains, like a work of art carefully carved by nature. Here, I can feel the purity and tranquility, as if the whole world has slowed down.
📸 Walking in Shiquanhe Town, every place is a perfect place to take pictures. From ancient streets to modern buildings, every scene is full of stories. And when I stand on a high place overlooking the whole town, the shock and beauty will be forever captured in my lens.
🎉 The "Traveling in Ali" series of activities not only gave me the opportunity to explore this mysterious land in depth, but also made me feel the charm and fun of a road trip. And Shiquanhe Town, as an important stop on my trip, will always be the "pearl on the horizon" in my heart.
800 km of snowy roads in the Qiangtang no man's land.
G216, the second line of the new Tibet-Xinjiang Highway
Pass through the silent and mysterious volcanoes
The hinterland of the Kunlun Mountains, the Qiangtang no man's land
From Gaize, Tibet to Minfeng, Xinjiang
A rich variety of natural landscapes, lakes, grasslands, and snow-capped mountains
Today, there are less than 30 self-driving cars on the 800 km journey
Without sudden weather changes
The scenery seems quite ordinary
The experience of four seasons in one day did not appear this time
The wild animals on the Third Pole are very quiet!
Ali is really amazing! An epic autumn scene is about to be presented.
When the barley fields are covered with golden waves, Ali enters the most charming season of the year. The autumn in Ali can fulfill all your expectations for beautiful scenery.
The towering snow-capped mountains are no longer mysterious, and the world is clear and far-reaching. Golden meadows, gentle sunsets, free-running wild animals, and increasingly deep blue holy lakes together create beautiful autumn scrolls.
The end of September to October each year is the best time to travel to Ali. At this time, it avoids the rainy season in summer and the severe cold in winter. The temperature is relatively suitable, the sky is blue with few clouds, and it is easy to see the sunrise and the starry sky. It is the best time when the autumn is the strongest, don't miss it.
About altitude and altitude sickness: 80% of the Ali route is above 4,000 meters above sea level, so pay attention to altitude sickness. You can go to Lhasa to adapt before going, avoid strenuous exercise, maintain a good mentality, and carry glucose, oxygen, etc.
The beautiful scenery not to be missed includes:
• Gang Rinpoche: the sacred mountain in the hearts of many pilgrims.
• Qudeng Nima: Known as the "end of the world", it is the ultimate glacier in Tibet.
• Tree of the Earth: A natural tree spectacle formed by flowing water.
• Guge Dynasty: A mysterious dynasty connected to the sky
• Zada Earth Forest: The earth forest is scattered and has thousands of postures.
• Zhuomulaji: The seventh peak of the Himalayas.
• Ama Zhimi: A little-known snow-capped mountain.
• Dark Night Park: One of the four major dark night parks in the world.
• Wenbunan Village: A secluded village next to Dangreyong Co.
• Yicuozaicuo: A series of blue lakes on the Ali line, each of which is amazing.

Ali | is the distance, the wilderness, the sky
| is the distance, the wilderness, the sky. "You are here just to experience life, you can't own anything, nor can you keep anything. There's no need to prove anything, and there's nothing that must be achieved. All you can do is keep trying, harvesting, feeling, and then letting go. We came to this world just to see how flowers bloom, how water flows, how the sun rises, and when the sunset falls. To experience interesting things, to meet unforgettable people. Life is full of trivial matters, but as long as we stay optimistic and focus on the present, even a dull life can become beautiful."
Ali is the endless wilderness
is the thin plateau
is the distant border
On this silent land
Grew the most soul-stirring magnificent holy lakes, snow mountains, and antelopes
Everything Ali has
Seems like the original appearance of the world, the desolation of the no-man's land, the unknown of life
Makes every moment more precious
I took the photo of my life in Tibet
Address: Mount Purang Xiqiong
I went to Tibet for this mountain, camping at 5500 meters waiting to shoot, but it rained during both sunrise and sunset.
Originally planned to return via the northern route of Ali, but unwilling to give up, I continued to return via the southern route. I waited for two nights in Saga while my companions had already returned. Finally, the weather cleared, and I saw the full view of Mount Purang Xiqiong. Life is worth it.
Places to Visit in a Lifetime, Ali in Tibet
Without Ali, there is no Tibet. The real Tibet is in Ali.
With an average altitude of over 4500 meters, it is known as the "Roof of the Roof of the World", the "Third Pole of the World", and the "Forbidden Zone of Life".
- Mount Kailash is among the mountains. Mount Kailash is the main peak of the Gangdise Mountains and is world-renowned. With an altitude of 6656 meters, it is not prominent on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. The main peak is not sharp, but the four walls are magically symmetrical, shaped like a pyramid; the Buddhist "swastika" formed on the southern snow wall adds a touch of "divinity". It is regarded as the "center of the world" by many followers of Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism, Bon, and Jainism.
- The Lion Spring River, known as Sengge Zangbo in Tibetan, originates near Sengge Khabab in the north of Mount Kailash, at an altitude of 5164 meters, and is the upper source of the Indus River.
- Ali Observatory, at an altitude of 5100 meters, is the highest observatory in the world, named alongside the world-famous observatories in Hawaii and Chile. Stargazing at night is breathtaking. It is not far from the center of Ali, Shiquanhe Town.
- Lake Manasarovar is known as the "Eternal Undefeated Jade Lake" and is one of the "Three Sacred Lakes" along with Namtso and Yamdrok Lake. In the hearts of Bon, Hindu, and Tibetan Buddhist followers, it is the most sacred and beautiful place in the world, and the "paradise" on earth.
- The Guge Kingdom is an ancient plateau city that has been dormant for thousands of years. The predecessor of the Guge Kingdom can be traced back to the Zhangzhung Kingdom. The kingdom was established in the 9th century after the collapse of the Tubo Dynasty, which unified the Tibetan Plateau. By the end of the 17th century, 16 kings had successively inherited the throne.
- Zanda Earth Forest, with its deep brown color, is hesitant, like a solid city wall, like brown waves, layer upon layer, winding for hundreds of kilometers, extending to the snow peaks, magnificent and grand.
- Lake Rakshastal, also known as the Ghost Lake, means "poisonous black lake" in Tibetan. It is separated from the sacred Lake Manasarovar by a road and is a slightly saline lake, so its water is not drinkable by humans or animals, hence the name "Ghost Lake".
- Purang is located at the junction of China, India, and Nepal. It is a place "surrounded by snow-capped mountains" in the Ali region. From Purang County, heading east for about 10 kilometers, you reach the Kojarnath Temple, built in 996 AD. Every year, believers from the Ali region and overseas from Nepal and India come to worship.
- Pangong Lake, in northern Ali, has fresh water in the east, brackish water in the middle, and saline water in the west. There are various islands on the lake, including Bird Island.
- Rinchengang Monastery is located on a mountain top resembling a lying elephant. Built according to the mountain's shape, its pavilions and halls are exquisite and elegant, with unique architectural layout and style. From a distance, it has the majestic appearance of the Potala Palace.

Warm Tips:
The average altitude in Ali is 4500 meters, so most people traveling to Ali will experience some altitude sickness, mainly manifested as headaches, vomiting, shortness of breath, chest tightness, bloating, loss of appetite, and poor sleep. Generally, a 2-3 day adaptation period in Lhasa is needed. Rest more, speak slowly to conserve energy, and take pain relievers like Bufalin or Acetaminophen to alleviate headaches.
The accommodation conditions in Ali are relatively poor compared to other regions of Tibet, especially below the county level, usually pastoral homestays and local guesthouses. Be prepared for a psychological gap.
Ali: Light and Poetry.
Walking through Tibet, I only touched a corner of the plateau. There are more secrets hidden there, attracting me to explore further.
Tibet Ali.
On the 14th, Ali's Great Northern Line and Central Line crossing is considered China's top off-road route.
Three extreme sensory experiences: beautiful and magnificent, desolate and grand, and the exploration of Buddhist culture.
A pilgrimage to snow-capped mountains: Mount Everest, Shishapangma, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Naimona'nyi, Mount Kailash, Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains...
It is also a journey of 'one lake after another': Yamdrok Lake, Peiku Tso, Gongzhucuo, Lake Rakshastal, Lake Manasarovar, Ang Laren Tso, Renqingxiubu Tso, Taruo Tso, Zhari Namco, Zabuye Salt Lake, Dangre Yongcuo, Dangqung Tso, Siling Co, Bamu Tso, Namtso...
It is also a flow of civilization, the disappeared Guge Kingdom, the once-prosperous Zhangzhung Kingdom; and the numerous temples along the way, some belonging to the Gelug sect, some to the Sakya sect, and some to the Bon religion.

Important Tips for Circumambulating Mount Kailash:
1. Although the average altitude of Mount Kailash is only about 3900 meters, to circumambulate it, you must conquer the Drolma La Pass at an altitude of 5630 meters. Therefore, those with severe altitude sickness should not attempt the circumambulation!
2. If you experience altitude sickness during the circumambulation, please stop immediately. Every year, some people become one with the sacred mountain due to altitude sickness!
3. Of course, altitude sickness is not insurmountable, but we urge everyone to act within their limits!
4. The best time to circumambulate Mount Kailash is from August to September each year. October is also possible, but it will be much colder. Climbing is not allowed after winter begins, as the mountain will be closed!
5. Moreover, in mid to late October each year, the ticket office and rescue vehicles of the Mount Kailash scenic area will withdraw from the area, and many supply points along the circumambulation route will also withdraw. So, do not be stubborn. If you encounter heavy snow and get lost during the circumambulation, especially near the Drolma La Pass, the chances of being rescued are very slim. We advise all tourists not to attempt the circumambulation during the mountain closure period!
[Tibet in Tibet] Many people who have been to Ali in Tibet once said this sentence: "Ali, this life is enough once." If you want to say this, it must be because of the lack of oxygen in high altitude areas. All kinds of discomfort and pain in the human body.
People like me who have been to Ali twice, this time is also suffering from all kinds of uncomfortable feelings caused by two nights of insomnia. When I arrived at the Shiquan River, I had the urge to stop the journey and buy a ticket to go home.
After all, it has persisted, because the place where this person must go once in a lifetime is not so easy to go. Here is a test of the body, but a test of the will!
Mobile phone card class public.
Banggong Lake is 4,242 meters above sea level. It is an inland lake on the plateau. Most of it is located in Ali Ritian County, Tibet, China, and a small part is in Kashmir. The peculiarity of this is that the lake is fresh water, brackish water and salt water from east to west. The lake water in China is green and watery, with good water quality and abundant products. It is rich in high-quality plateau and naked fish.
Ali has an old saying: "The land here is so ridiculous, the path to it is so high, only the closest friends and the most profound enemies will come to visit us."
2019, after the Spring Festival, I Will step into the plateau again and continue to explore this ancient Tibetan civilization.
Together?
From Kashgar to Shigatse, 7 days, 4,600 kilometers, Xinjiang and Tibet have some contradictions. The contradiction lies in the coexistence of resistance and expectation: the resistance is that they have a relatively high status in my heart, freedom and faith. In the region, Im afraid of such awe. Im expecting that Im always eager to approach and explore with them. Going deeper and deeper is my inner cry, but on this trip, my hearts heart Shouting gets a lot of responses, each time a different colorful sound. Walking through the plateau will have a wonderful experience. You will feel that you are experiencing spring, summer, autumn and winter at any time. When you are basking, you will feel very scorching. When you are in the dark, you will feel cold. When you walk into the snowy mountains, you will feel that winter is coming. My impression of this land is the land of freedom and faith, perhaps because there are so many mountains worthy of mythological significance, probably because there are so many beautiful songs and joys here, the mountains and rivers here are so well-conceived. Powerful and full of aura, they are the messengers of nature and God, sheltering their children.
It was a miracle to see the hail at the end of June. It was only the deep feelings of the weather on the New Tibet Line that I had felt yesterday. I was not surprised to see the hail today. The climate and scenery along the way are unpredictable. It is often seen that there is a black cloud in front of the road. Under the clouds is a gray thread, which is a trace of rain.
Bandashan Daxie is facing the road and there is also a lake named Longmu, which happens to be on the roadside of the Xinzang line. The towering snow-capped mountains and the lake with blue light make me memorable.
Gang Rinpoche, a world-class religious monument, stands in the territory of Ali, Tibet. The Indus, Ganges and Yarlung Zangbo rivers originate here and have a profound impact on the whole of South Asia.
Gang Rinpoqi and Mabian are wrong, and they are called "the source of thousands of mountains, the source of water."
Every year, believers from India, Nepal, Bhutan, and Tibetan areas come here to worship.
In Tibet, the biggest wish of a Buddhist life is to go to the Gang Rinpoche pilgrimage. They believe that: turning around the hills of Gang Rinpoche can wash away the sins of life; turn ten laps to avoid the suffering of hell in 500 rounds; those who turn 100 laps can ascend to heaven.
The birth of the Tibetan calendar in Sakyamuni is a lap of the horse, which can increase the merits of a 12-fold round, equivalent to 13 rounds of the year.
Tips:
The best month to turn to the mountain: August-September, October is also OK, but it is already a bit cold.
Winter can't turn the mountain, it will seal the mountain.
Turning Mountain Tickets: 150RMB/person;
Frontier Defence Certificate: Covering the seal, entering Ali must be handled, at the local police station, or after arriving in Lhasa.
Outer ring to mountain route
The entire outer ring route is 52 kilometers from the mountain pass, and 56 kilometers from the town of Taqin.
The starting point of the mountain (Yamaguchi) and the destination have sightseeing vehicles, which are 4 km away from the mountain road (4 km from the beginning and 4 km from the end), and the one-way is 60RMB/person.
For a photographer, the charm of Ali Star is unstoppable.
The most beautiful starry sky to see Ali, at the elevation of 5,100 meters in the Ali astronomical observation to meet the beauty of the suffocating starry sky, forget the chilly wind, forget the biting cold, hate can not be transformed into the wind, go to the other side of the Xinghai.
In the dark night sky of Ali, avoiding the light pollution of human habitation, enjoy the vastness and embarrassment of the starry night.
5100 meters above sea level The Ali Observatory is the highest altitude observatory in the world and the best observatory in Asia.
With the advancement of human science and technology, the distance between humans and the mysterious Galaxy will be closer and closer. Known as the heavenly secret, Ali's owner is blessed with natural conditions, such as atmospheric transparency, clear sky rate, and night sky quality. He is known as the "last piece of pure land that human civilization depends on." The magic of photography makes up for the insufficiency of the naked eye, and the starry sky is displayed on the image, which is more shocking than what the naked eye sees.
In order to let more tourists appreciate the starry sky of Ali, the Ali government has built a dark night park and an astronomical square on the outer edge of the reserve. The park is located about 25 kilometers south of Shiquanhe Town, with an altitude of 4,200 meters, including the starry sky experience zone, telescope observation zone and passenger service zone. It takes about half an hour to drive from Shiquanhe Town. Thanks to superior natural conditions, the Ali area has been favored by astronomers in recent years.
Between the peaks of the Gangdese Mountains, Gang Rinpoche ranks second in height, but it is full of the spirit of the king and is considered by many religions to be the center of the world. The turn-around mountain road around Gang Rinpoche is more than 50 kilometers long, and the highest altitude climbs to the frozen land of 5,600 meters. Overlooking Mabian Gyatso, overlooking the Muna Niu Peak, two days walk can complete the whole journey. Huge canyons, cold snow peaks, thin air, epic grandeur, and the mind and body of the Pacers.
The Ali region and Beijing have a difference of nearly 40 degrees in longitude and 15 degrees in one time zone, which is more than two and a half hours. Therefore, although it has been more than 8 o'clock to reach the site of the Guge Dynasty, in fact, the sun has just risen, and the gate of the Guge site has not yet opened. Compared to the setting sun, Chaoyang is also the best time to visit during the Raiders and locals.
Tibet's scenic ticket office is mostly not like the city. There is a decent ticket window at the entrance of the park. It is basically the place where the ticket is checked on the way to the scenic spot. The Ali area is more succinct, just a simple plywood room. My partner and I have a student ID card, which can be half price. In order to save trouble, the staff who checked the ticket actually gave us a ticket directly - it is a total one, not one person! Also tell us that if someone checks the ticket, it is ok to show the student card of both of them.
Just a few years ago, the site of the Guge Dynasty was still an extremely strange name, but with the discovery of the Tibetan cultural relics team here, the kingdom that has disappeared for nearly 400 years suddenly appeared in peoples field of vision. It has attracted people's attention.
Guge ruins, it doesn't seem to be how tall you are when you don't come to him. But when you slowly approach him and step on his soil steps, in addition to being small, I am afraid there is no more appropriate adjective to express the scene at that moment. Behind the
Guge dynasty is a mysterious and strange historical story. In short, it is because the ancient kingdom of Guge has caused internal struggles due to the existence of various religions, and colluded with the leaders of neighboring countries to break into the interior, surrounded the palace of the Guge dynasty, cut off the supply, and the king of Guge even failed to surrender. The Kingdom of Guge was destroyed.
Guge Dynasty The whole castle is built on a loess slope of more than 300 meters high. The terrain is steep. The caves, stupas, towers, temples and palaces are arranged in an orderly manner. From the bottom up, the mountains are stacked and the atmosphere is magnificent. . These caves are mostly homes, densely populated on hillsides.
Guge murals are the finest works here, including Buddhist stories, myths and legends, as well as the production and living scenes of the Guge people at that time. It is a pity that when we arrived, several major temples such as the Red Temple, the White Temple and the Reincarnation Temple were locked by chains and were not open. It is very regrettable.
In that world, turning the mountains and turning the water to the stupa is not for the sake of the afterlife, but only for you on the way.
After 26 hours of mountain road running the night road without stopping for more than a thousand kilometers, I came to Tachin at the foot of the mountain. Gang Rinpoche is recognized as the world's god mountain, and is recognized as the center of the world by Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism, Tibet's native religion, and ancient Shuna. The mysterious place of the mountain, the sunny side of the mountain, I dont know why, the snow is not snowing all the year round, and the snow is white; the back of the mountain is not snowy for many years. Even if it is covered with snow, the sun will melt and then melt, just like the normal nature. . The towering and sacred mountain has both imposing and sturdy places, surrounded by numerous peaks, and even more wonderful rocks, canyons, shrubs, and clean springs. The Gangrenboqi peak is often surrounded by white clouds, and it is difficult to see its true content. The peaks are covered with snow all the year round, and there is great visual and spiritual shock.
The first 20 kilometers of road feels very good, but the altitude has risen from 5700 to 5700, it is really a little hard. When I started climbing uphill, I encountered the most beautiful scenery, near the Tianyintai. At that time, my feeling was that it was terrible for the Tibetan to lift a deceased to this hillside. The road of tens of kilometers was to let the deceased eat it for the vultures. The so-called celestial burial, these days and the understanding of the Tibetans, only know that, just a healthy person is naturally old or an unfortunate accident has passed away. After three days of death, the soul has left the body and will be himself. The flesh is the last contribution to nature to feed the vultures.
