We stayed at Oyado Hanakanzashi, and here is a recap of the open-air bath in the "Katakuri" room, which features its own private bath♨️! I still had so many photos of the open-air bath attached to the absolutely stunning "Katakuri" room! I just had to share them...😂 So this post is all about the open-air bath🙌 The open-air tub is spacious enough to easily fit 8 people, and having it all to myself was pure bliss!!! It boasts the largest open-air bath of all the rooms at Oyado Hanakanzashi, and it's incredibly popular! If you see it available, I highly recommend booking it right away. This time, we're introducing the one with only the indoor bath!!! This one is also a cloudy hot spring packed with mineral deposits (yunohana), and it boasts a strong sulfur scent—absolutely irresistible if you love cloudy onsen!🤤 〜〜〜 ♨️Bathtub 〜〜〜 The indoor bath was the perfect size to fit 4 people! At Hana-kanzashi, an inn in Fukushima's Dake Onsen, the grand baths · Indoor bath only · Indoor bath + Open-air bath come in these two types, and this time we're introducing the one with the open-air bath!!! It's a milky hot spring packed with natural mineral deposits (yunohana) and a strong sulfur scent, highly recommended for fans of cloudy hot springs 🙌 〜〜〜 ♨️ The Baths 〜〜〜 Both the indoor and open-air baths were the perfect size for about 4 people! @onsen_mami \The meat and pumpkin soup for dinner was delicious! Meals at mt.inn 🥢/ ⁡ The main meat for dinner varies depending on the plan! I chose the beef sirloin steak plan, but there are also plans where you can eat Date chicken or roasted pork and duck from Fukushima Prefecture!! The chicken and duck that other people were eating looked delicious too🤤 ⁡ The staff brought the main meat (1st photo), appetizer (2nd photo), and dessert (6th photo), but the other salads, soups, rice, and bread were self-service, so I was happy that I could eat as much as I wanted!!! ⁡ I often have trouble deciding whether to have rice or bread... so I was personally happy that I could have both🍞 ⁡ The pumpkin soup had a strong pumpkin flavor and was slightly sweet. Nihonmatsu Castle in Nihonmatsu City, Fukushima Prefecture. I went there around 4:30pm, but there was no one there. Or rather, it was pitch black. I was scared so I ran along the way, but there were quite a few mountain monkeys!! It was a pretty tough climb, and I thought it would have been hard to take the castle, but it seems they attacked from behind and it fell. #Outdoor

Fukushima Dake Onsen ♨️ Adatara Inn Ogiya ~Dinner~ ⁡ The rice was delicious, and the portions were also amazing at this inn👀!!! I ate it all, but the mushroom rice was so good I wanted a second helping!!! ⁡ 1st photo: Appetizer, sashimi, and egoma tofu ⁡ 2nd photo: egoma tofu The egoma sauce was sweet and really delicious!!!! Nihonmatsu Shrine This shrine is located at 1-61 Honmachi, Nihonmatsu City, Fukushima Prefecture. The nearest station is JR East Tohoku Main Line Nihonmatsu Station, about a 5-minute walk away. There are a lot of mosquitoes in the summer, so insect repellent is a must. The annual lantern festival in October is famous, so I wanted to see it at least once. This year's annual festival will be shortened to two days, October 2nd and 3rd, and will be held on a smaller scale. #Fukushima #Summer trip

Nihonmatsu Station/Nihonmatsu City Tourist Information Center A JR East Tohoku Main Line station located in Honmachi 2-chome, Nihonmatsu City, Fukushima Prefecture. The current station building was built in 1976, and in 2002 it was selected as one of the 100 best stations in Tohoku. I got a manhole card and a nearby tourist information paper at the tourist information center to the right just after exiting the ticket gate. *On weekdays, this type of manhole card is distributed at a different location, the Fukushima Adatara Seiryu Center (2-96 Enokido, Nihonmatsu City). A hot spring inn located in Dake Onsen, Fukushima♨️ The room I stayed in at Oyado Hanakanzashi was so wonderful, I just had to share it!!! The inn has 8 rooms in total, and 3 of them come with a private open-air bath! The bath is amazingly spacious. A ryokan (traditional Japanese inn) in Fukushima that I visited this summer! It had an open-air bath and cost just under 20,000 yen per person ♨️ It was too hot in the summer to use the open-air bath, so I recommend going in the fall or winter 🚗 There's also a safari park nearby, making it perfect for sightseeing 🦁 The food was delicious, and the hot springs were incredibly relaxing! Even a one-night, two-day trip is enough to enjoy it, so please do go! It was a peaceful place surrounded by nature 🌳 The hotel staff were also very kind and helpful, which was great 👍

Adachigahara Furusato Village is a tourist facility located in Nihonmatsu City, Fukushima Prefecture, featuring approximately 3 million red spider lilies. The vibrant red flowers against the backdrop of a five-story pagoda create a stunning view. In early September, visitors can also enjoy the early-blooming white spider lilies, known as 'Summer Christmas.' After visiting the Nihonmatsu Castle Ruins, we were looking for a quick and reliable lunch stop—and Yoshinoya never disappoints. We pulled into the Fukuoka-440 Yui branch, and as expected, it was a smooth and fuss-free experience. Parking was super convenient, with spaces located right outside the shop—perfect for a quick stop when you’re on a road trip or just passing through. Inside, everything was straightforward. You simply place your order at the counter and they hand you a buzzer. Once it goes off, just head back and collect your tray. We went for the classic beef bowl (gyudon)—always satisfying and great value for money. The portions were generous, the beef was flavorful and tender, and it hit the spot after a wet, chilly walk at the castle ruins. It’s the kind of comfort food you can count on, especially when traveling with family. Yoshinoya might be a chain, but it’s exactly the kind of simple, consistent, and affordable meal that makes traveling around Japan so easy. We made a stop at the Nihonmatsu Castle Ruins, but I’d say it’s really more suited for those driving, as access without a car can be a bit of a challenge. I drove all the way up to the public parking area, which was just a small open patch—not many spots, and the road leading up was quite narrow, so do drive with caution. As for the site itself, don’t expect to see any standing castle structures—this is more of a historical site with stone foundations and remnants of what used to be. Interestingly, some of the photos displayed around the area actually seemed to be of Kasumigajo Park, which is nearby and might cause a bit of confusion for first-time visitors. That said, the views from the top were surprisingly nice, even on the rainy day we visited. The mist and drizzle added a moody, atmospheric touch to the ruins and surrounding trees, which made for some lovely, quiet moments despite the weather. If you’re a history buff or someone who enjoys walking through quiet, scenic ruins, you might still enjoy it. #cherryblossom25 Nakajima Jizozakura in Akiyama is a charming little cherry blossom spot that feels super down-to-earth and real. This ancient sakura tree has been around for ages, standing tall and proud with its soft pink flowers lighting up the area every spring. The tree sits near a small Jizo statue, giving the place a peaceful, almost spiritual vibe that’s really calming. It’s not packed with tourists, so you get plenty of quiet moments to soak in the beauty and snap some cool photos without any rush. The surrounding countryside adds to the chill atmosphere, with rolling hills and fresh air making it a perfect escape from busy city life. If you want to experience cherry blossoms in a simple, heartfelt way, Nakajima Jizozakura is a sweet little hidden gem in Akiyama you won’t want to miss.

#springwander The altitude is 1,700m, but if you use the "Adatarayama Ropeway", you can go up to the summit station at an altitude of about 1,350m in about 10 minutes from the foot of the mountain station, and you can easily enjoy trekking in about an hour and a half to the top of the mountain, so it is suitable for beginners and families. Also popular. It is also known as a famous place for autumn leaves, and from late September to mid-October every year, it is crowded with many climbers. Ski resorts are open in winter, and you can enjoy one of the best snow quality in Tohoku.

Mt. Adatara, one of Japan's 100 famous mountains, is located in Fukushima Prefecture. It is a mountain with an altitude of 1,700m, but you can take the ropeway to a height of 1,350m, and then walk for 5 minutes to reach Yakushidake Panorama Park, where the summit of Mt. Yakushi is right in front of you. A shrine and a hanging bell are enshrined at the summit. The view of the Adatara mountain range from the summit of Mt. Yakushi is also a spectacular view, but if you come this far, we recommend aiming for the summit of Mt. Adatara. It takes about 1 to 1.5 hours from the summit of Mt. Yakushi. (However, it is dangerous if you do not have proper equipment such as trekking shoes.) The autumn world of Mt. Adatara is also said to be as beautiful as Mt. Kurikoma, which is famous for having the best autumn leaves in Japan. The world below was blue, but the autumn leaves near the summit were magnificent. Rarely found at such a high altitude, there were fields of silver grass instead of alpine plants. The summit of Mt. Adatara is also known as Mt. Chichikubiyama (Chichikubiyama) lol. When I visited, the fog was so thick that I couldn't see much, but when it's clear, you can see Mt. Bandai, the Iide mountain range, the Zao mountain range, and more. When descending, it is more interesting to descend from the Okudake area if you have time and energy, rather than taking the ropeway. However, after it rains, it gets muddy, and the muddy roads and rocks are slippery, so be careful. After descending, it is customary to wash off the sweat at "Okudake no Yu" (650 yen for adults) located right in front of the ropeway station. (Although I didn't have time, I skipped it...)
