Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic and the largest deep-water port in the country, is a city with a history of 500 years. In 1496, Bartholomew Columbus, the brother of Columbus, arrived on the east bank of the Ozama River and found that the location was prominent and the natural scenery was beautiful, so he led the construction of a town.
