Lunch, Lavender & Luxury at the delightful Hambleton Hall 🏞️
📌 Hambleton Hall, near Oakham, Rutland
⭐ I recently had simply the most magical afternoon at Hambleton Hall, perched on the edge of Rutland Water. Stroll around the breathtaking gardens to see the water features as the lovely smell of lavender hit you (Picture 1).
🏞️ From the moment we arrived, the charm of this countryside gem swept us away. We enjoyed delicious canapés on the terrace consisting of crispy tapioca with a temptation of caviar along with miniature arancini (Picture 2), where the impeccable service kick-started our stay.
🍽️ It was time to head in for lunch and we were seated in a lovely private room with garden views. My favourite parts of the meal were the Pan Seared Scallop served with pear, foam and beetroot (Picture 3), Braised Pork served in a rich reduction with all the trimmings (Picture 4) and Chocolate Soufflé with cherry gel and raspberry sorbet (Picture 5). This delightfully light lunch was just right and allowed me to stroll the gardens without feeling too full!
⛲ The views over Rutland Water from inside the building were unblemished, you can see the epic gardens blending into the views of the water (Picture 6), combined with the warm spring sunshine, it felt like it transported me straight to the south of France!
🦋 Afterwards, we strolled through the manicured gardens-blossom in bloom, birds singing, and not a single worry in sight (Picture 7). It's the kind of place that makes you slow down and soak up every detail. A truly elegant and peaceful escape.
🛌🏼 Stay on-site in the Hall for a cosy and relaxing pamper weekend or hire a beautiful water-view cabin elsewhere.
🚲 Hire bikes nearby and take a delightful lap of the Rutland Water for the most epic views and summer breeze.
💡 Book well in advance - this place is well sought after! The Hall is easily accessed from all major roads but once you're there, you feel a million miles from anywhere!
