I went to Okinoshima Town in the Oki Islands for the first time! I went all the way to Cape Nagu. There were cows on the road to the lighthouse, which was pretty scary, but the view from the observation deck was amazing! From JR Yonago Station, take a bus to Shichirui Port, then a two-hour ferry ride to the Oki Islands. On Oki Island, I rented a car and drove around aimlessly, enjoying the scenery. It was autumn foliage season, and everywhere I looked, there were vibrant autumn leaves and adorable persimmon trees. The sea was practically within reach! Every hill on Oki Island was ablaze with color, and the crystal-clear waters, combined with the blue sky and white clouds, made me want to settle down here! I happened to pass by Tamawakazumi Shrine and saw a 2,000-year-old tree, incredibly thick and tall. Nature is truly amazing! The shrine's amulets were also very beautiful. There's a current promotion for Oki Island tours; if you stay overnight and participate in a local activity, you get a free return ferry ticket. Unfortunately, the activities weren't available due to scheduling conflicts or weather conditions, which was a real shame. I went to Dankyo Falls, which is one of Japan's top 100 waterfalls and one of Japan's top 100 waterfalls. It's so unexplored it's hard to convey in photos!! According to the guide, it's recommended to go on a rainy day, as there is more water from the waterfall, but it can be a bit scary because of falling rocks. You can drink the famous water. Could this be the famous Agonashi Shrine that the manager of my lodging told me about this morning? I immediately made a U-turn and followed the sign to follow it. To be precise, it's Agonashi Jizo. #Agonashi There was still snow left over from a week ago on the narrow, uphill slope, and there was no sign of cars or people there recently!! Byobu Rock is located just opposite Lizard Rock, a natural monument of Shimane Prefecture. There are places where you have to climb using ropes and ladders, so the journey is quite tough. It is a common sight in geoparks, but the rock formations are so large that you can see them from afar. It's a spectacular view.
