🗒️ Detailed itinerary
1️⃣ Arrive at Mount Fuji area:
It is recommended to take the JR Chuo Line from Tokyo to Otsuki Station and transfer to the Fujikyu Line (about 2 hours), one of the most popular viewing stations is “Kawaguchiko Station”. As soon as you get off the car, you can already see the magnificent Mount Fuji. In winter, there is a lot of snow under the snow-capped mountains. It's very spectacular! The views are beautiful along the way, especially on a sunny day, so be sure to check the weather ahead of time.
2️⃣ Popular landmarks in and around Kawaguchiko Station:
📍 Mt. Fuji Station (Residence: 5-2-1 Shinnishihara, Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi Prefecture)

🗻 Check in with the snow scenery of Mount Fuji
Winter is the most beautiful to go, it is recommended to reserve time to walk slowly, far and near staggered shots of the back of the snow-capped mountains, really like a postcard. The open-air platform of the shopping mall and the shore of Lake Kawaguchi are popular photo spots.
🍽️ Restaurant recommendation
1. Cafe Mont Crevo (on the 2nd floor of the mall)
2. Yoshida Udon (near the station, featuring Yoshida Udon, unique bite)
It’s great to take a break, sit by the window and enjoy afternoon tea, enjoy the snowy view of the glacier, and talk to friends to relax.
🎁 Tips:
- The Mount Fuji area is surprisingly windy and dry, so be sure to bring an extra thick coat and lotion during the winter.
- Best to go in the morning for a better chance of seeing the sunny cloudless Mount Fuji!
- The mall has many limited souvenirs (Hello Kitty x Mount Fuji, Mount Fuji shaped dim sum), you can buy some as a souvenir.
🌟 Personal insights
When I was a child, I often saw Mount Fuji in textbooks, comics, and travel magazines. This time I saw it with the naked eye, and I still have it printed in my mind! The scene is very peaceful, there will not be too many people, slowly admiring the snow-capped mountains with clear sky, it feels very healing. Buy some snacks, sit outdoors and eat and enjoy the scenery. It's a great enjoyment in life
