This time, I took the kids to Vegas and finally included Antelope Canyon in the itinerary! The 10-hour round trip was really tough, but experiencing the charm of nature with the kids made it all worth it, and of course, you have to get great photos! Here are some very important family tips that I hope will help sisters avoid any traps: 1️⃣ Make sure the kids wear proper walking shoes! Absolutely! The park is full of red sand and uneven paths, so kids must wear non-slip sneakers. Avoid flip-flops or sandals to prevent slipping and blisters. 2️⃣ Antelope Canyon can only be visited with a local guide. If you’re with kids, it’s recommended to tip $5-$10 before the tour. Each group has about a dozen people waiting to enter, and you can’t fall behind. We didn’t tip, and the guide kept rushing us, so we barely had time to take photos, and the kids got anxious. Later we learned that tipping slows the guide down and they help find good photo spots, making the experience better with kids. 3️⃣ Antelope Canyon has top lighting, so front-facing photos aren’t ideal most of the time. Try having the kids look up or take parent-child photos from behind. The easiest trick is to have the kids wear sunglasses for better shots. The canyon is narrow, so it’s best to walk at the front or back of the group to avoid crowds and make it easier to take photos and rest with kids. 4️⃣ Family outfit tips: Black, white, or brown colors look best in photos. Parents and kids can coordinate with matching colors for more harmonious family pictures. 5️⃣ Actually, photos inside Antelope Canyon are all pretty similar. The wide-open area outside is much more spacious and there’s no guide rushing you, so you can comfortably take family photos and let the kids run and play freely. 6️⃣ Don’t forget sun protection! The park is very hot, so fully protect the kids with sun-protective clothing, hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen to avoid sunburn. 7️⃣ There are no clean restrooms inside the park, only pit toilets. You can change clothes and freshen up at a clean restroom the guide takes you to beforehand. Bring wet wipes and tissues to keep the kids clean. 8️⃣ Bring enough drinking water and light snacks for the kids. Supplies inside the park are scarce and expensive, so avoid hunger and thirst. 9️⃣ Pack common medicines and band-aids for the kids to handle emergencies like falls or scrapes. Regarding group tours, I did a lot of research because I didn’t want to be packed on a big bus. After reading many posts and checking foreign platforms, 50-person Antelope Canyon tours cost about $200 round trip from Vegas; 14-person business buses are around $250, with fixed hotel pickups—no door-to-door service, and extra fees or early pickups if you’re not at the designated hotels. This time, I found a private small group tour with a business car for up to 5 people at $259. They pick up from all central Vegas hotels and picked us up at 6 AM, saving a lot of time compared to regular tours. The guide was a kind Chinese lady, the car was clean, and they even provided umbrellas, ice water, iced cola, and sunscreen. The kids slept both ways—super comfortable. I really want to recommend it; it’s so good it feels like a secret, but no lies here~ The only regret is there’s no two-day tour option. Otherwise, we could have stayed overnight in Page town and had time to check out the Jennie-style Powell Lake boat tour for a richer experience with the kids. A couple traveling with us didn’t want to go, so we missed out—so regretful~ Next post will be about Horseshoe Bend! It’s insanely photogenic. You can skip Antelope Canyon, but Horseshoe Bend is definitely worth taking the kids to~

Spending three days in Las Vegas without watching a show, gambling, or going to the Sphere to see The Wizard of Oz, besides two days of city walk and shopping, you must take a day to visit Antelope Canyon! Now is the best season to visit Lower Antelope Canyon, and the experience on-site is truly breathtaking. Remember to book a day tour in advance! I originally signed up for a private small group but couldn’t get tickets for Lower Antelope Canyon (apparently big companies control the tickets 😮‍💨), so I decisively canceled and switched to a regular group tour at the last minute. There weren’t many people, just 10 in a Mercedes van, the price was cheap, the itinerary was tight, and lunch was included. The tip was only $15, and there were no disappointments. Besides Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend and other spots were also covered. The only downside is the long drive, at least 8 hours round trip… but it’s totally worth it! 🌄✨ Tips for entering the canyon: • No bags allowed inside, not even small shoulder bags (phones are allowed). • You will be divided into groups to enter the canyon. • If you want more time to take photos: walk at the back of your group! You’ll have much more space for photos than those in front and can avoid the crowd. • The group behind usually waits a bit, so don’t worry~

This was my favorite activity during our spring break road trip in the American West—absolutely worth recommending! Lake Powell is the second-largest man-made lake in the United States. The water is incredibly clear and beautiful, with slow currents. The lake reflects the red cliffs on both sides, creating breathtaking scenery. At the end of the kayaking route, you can start hiking after docking your kayak. No guided tours are required here, so you can enter Antelope Canyon for free! Compared to the rushed tours of Upper and Lower Antelope Canyon, I would definitely choose this natural and leisurely way to explore. We arrived at Page around 10 a.m. and went straight to rent a kayak. There are several rental shops in town, and they should all be similar. We rented a double kayak for $95 per day, including tax. The water route map is shown in photo 3. We went on March 10, and the weather was great, with a high of about 19°C. It took us about 1.5 hours to kayak to the destination, mostly with my partner paddling while I enjoyed the stunning scenery. On the way back, it took about an hour. Photo 4 shows the starting point. Be careful not to paddle past it when returning. Once you reach the end, you can start hiking. Antelope Canyon is beautiful, but I think the most stunning views are on the lake, with the cliffs and their reflections creating an absolutely mesmerizing scene. A few important tips: 1. Plan your timing well. Don’t start too early or too late. Starting too early can be quite cold; we saw people coming out wearing thick clothes. Starting too late might not leave enough time for hiking. 2. Some kayaking experience is necessary, and you should check the weather and wind speed in advance. Life jackets are mandatory, and the lake water is very cold, so capsizing is no joke. 3. Remember to protect yourself from the sun, bring plenty of drinking water, and wear sandals. Before hiking, you’ll need to drag your kayak ashore, which involves wading through water.

Horseshoe Bend is a horseshoe-shaped incised meander of the Colorado River located near the town of Page, Arizona, United States. It is also referred to as the "east rim of the Grand Canyon." From the parking lot, we walked for about 10-15 minutes. Coming back will be a bit of a challenge since it's uphill. There are no railings, so watch your step. There are no trees, so it can get really hot. Take plenty of water. There's no fee for the parking or entrance to the site. Restrooms are at the parking area. #passionpassport This is one of the unique place I have visited in USA. Near to Grand Canyon, it wasn’t as famous way back and recently got famous in tourist. From the top of rim when seen down view looks amazing. This place is also near to Antelope Canyon so if that trip is planned it can be included in same stretch.From road it takes around 5 min to reach the bend and the walk can be tiring due to high temperature. But there are many viewing platforms and each place have different view. Some adventures people also climb nearby rocks to get more adventurous pic but it’s a nice to visit. There is parking lot which changes 10$ to park. Also have restrooms but not in very good condition. #horseshoebend #usa #travel

Lower Antelope Canyon is in Arizona. Many people are probably familiar with the wallpaper. Today, I got to see the real thing. It is an unseen tourist attraction that should be visited. We didn't book in advance, but when we arrived, we bought it and waited to enter the next round. The entrance to Lower Antelope Canyon is like going underground. There are stairs to walk down. The path is quite narrow, but not as narrow as the exit (in the first picture, how did you get up that way? 🤣). Along the way, there will be a guide to lead the way. The guide recommends taking pictures from a high angle and tells you which angles are beautiful. He also recommends poses for taking pictures. The inside of Lower Antelope is narrow, but not so narrow that you can't walk. You have to climb a little bit. But overall, I was very impressed. 🧡🧡 ✨✨ We went on this trip in 2019.

Gorgeous place located in Page, Arizona, not far away from Grand Canyon, which is a also great place to visit. We also went to lower Antelope Canyon, very beautiful, definitely recommend to go there, but you have to book in advance to make sure you’re able to get in, as tickets sold out very fast. Horseshoe Bend has convenient parking, suitable for all ages, does not require a lot of walking to see the beautiful you. We went to visit this place in April, the weather was perfect not too cold and not too hot. try to avoid hot summer days to visit this place, very open area and might be difficult to stay under the sun for a long time.

This is Monument Valley in Arizona, USA. It reminds me of the old TV series Airwolf. It is located within an Indian reservation and has a unique terrain with red-colored soil. I’ve seen it in many pictures, so it’s not unfamiliar. It’s included in the general 5 major canyon tour package in the western United States. You have to park your car at the bottom and walk up to this point. It is a highlight that you should come to when the sun is about to set and when the sun rises. It is really beautiful. We planned to come when the sun was about to set, but because of the delay in the trip, we arrived when the light was almost gone. We ran until we were out of breath.
