【February Dive into the Blue Opium】Phuket PADI Certification Journey
Embark on an "Inner Space" Adventure in the Most Stunning Jelly Sea!
If you ask me what the most worthwhile challenge in February is, it has to be getting a PADI diving certification in **Phuket**! The Andaman Sea in February is as calm as a mirror, with underwater visibility reaching over 30 meters. The moment you first dive into the water with your tank, witnessing the vibrant coral reefs and tropical fish swimming around, the awe of becoming one with nature will make you fall in love with this blue world.
I just completed my Open Water certification course in Phuket. The teaching resources here are incredibly rich, offering everything from intensive three-day courses to relaxed island-hopping diving experiences. The February sunlight reflects dreamlike glimmers on the sea surface, and every dive feels like exploring an unknown planet. This is undoubtedly the most thrilling stop of the journey!
🤿【Top Picks】Diving Certification and Travel Tips:
Course Arrangement: Typically, the PADI OW course takes 3 days. The first day covers theory and pool practice, while the next two days involve four open water dives. Choose a reputable diving center to ensure professional and attentive instructors.
Popular Dive Spots:
Racha Yai/Noi (Racha Islands): Calm waters and pristine sandy bottoms make it ideal for beginners.
Phi Phi Islands: You might encounter blacktip sharks and sea turtles, with breathtaking underwater scenery.
Practical Tips:
No-Fly Time: Avoid flying within 18-24 hours after diving. Plan your itinerary to leave a gap between your last dive and return flight.
Sun Protection: February's Phuket sun is intense. Opt for reef-safe sunscreen or wear long-sleeve rash guards to protect yourself and the delicate coral reefs.
Motion Sickness Prevention: Speedboats to distant dive sites can be bumpy. Take motion sickness medication 30 minutes before departure.
Equipment Preparation: Dive centers usually provide full gear for certification courses. If you plan to dive long-term, consider purchasing a mask and mouthpiece that fit your face for hygiene and comfort.
In February, Phuket's water temperature stays at a comfortable 28-30°C. Don't hesitate—come here to earn your "sea entry pass" and unlock a unique travel perspective!

🌅 A breathtaking view from the southernmost tip of Phuket.
📍 Promthep Cape
If you come to Phuket and don't visit this place, it's like you haven't really been to Phuket! ✨ Promthep Cape is the most famous sunset viewpoint on the island. The view of the vast ocean stretches as far as the eye can see, with deep blue water contrasting beautifully with the mountains and small islands lined up in front. It's stunning from every angle, like a painting.
During the day, the sky is very vibrant, resulting in beautiful and sharp photos. In the evening, the atmosphere is romantic, with golden light reflecting on the water. However, it gets especially crowded.
At the top, there's a spacious area with many photo spots, including tall palm trees, the walkway down to the tip of the cape, and landmark signs for checking in. You can also enjoy a leisurely stroll and feel the sea breeze.
📍Recommendations:
The sun is very strong, so bring an umbrella, hat, or sunglasses.
If you come in the evening, allow extra time as there can be a lot of traffic.
Wear comfortable walking shoes to easily explore and enjoy the views.
💙 Summary: A legendary viewpoint in Phuket. The view is spectacular, and the photos are beautiful at any time, especially the sunset. It's definitely worth seeing with your own eyes at least once. 🌊

Phi Phi Islands — turquoise water and dramatic cliffs 🌴
The Phi Phi Islands are one of the most famous island destinations in Thailand. Crystal-clear turquoise water, white sand beaches, and towering limestone cliffs create that “perfect postcard” view.
When I first saw them, it honestly felt unreal — the colors are so bright it almost looks edited.
📍 Location
• Andaman Sea, Thailand
• Between Phuket and Krabi
🚤 How to Get There
• From Phuket:
• Ferry: 1.5–2 hours
• Speedboat: ~1 hour
• Also accessible from Krabi
💰 Cost
• Ferry: ~400–600 THB one way
• Speedboat tours: ~1,000–2,500 THB (depending on the tour)
• National park fee: ~400 THB
📅 Best Time to Visit
• November – April — calm sea, best conditions
• Avoid rainy season (rough waves, limited visibility)
⏰ How Much Time to Plan
• Day trip from Phuket — popular option
• 1–2 nights — better to feel the atmosphere without rushing
🌊 What Makes It Special
• Bright turquoise water
• Limestone cliffs rising straight from the sea
• Hidden lagoons and beaches
• Snorkeling and boat trips
Phi Phi Islands are not a hidden place — they are popular and often crowded.
But despite that, when you see that water and those cliffs in real life, you understand why everyone comes here.

Poolside hotel in Thailand 🌴
#thailandhotel
Just had an absolutely dreamy stay at Panwaburi Beachfront Resort and wow—this viral Thailand hotel totally lives up to the hype! 🏨 From the moment I stepped onto the property, those iconic palm-framed views and sparkling turquoise pools had me reaching for my camera non-stop. If you're planning a Phuket getaway, use this vibe as your inspo: wake up to ocean breezes, spend lazy afternoons dipping between the pool and the Andaman Sea, and soak up that tropical luxury without breaking the bank—it's where vacation mode activates instantly!
What Makes It Special:
1. The Viral Pool & Beach Access: That famous infinity-edge pool everyone's sharing on TikTok? It's even better in person! Crystal-clear water seems to merge directly with the Andaman Sea beyond, surrounded by swaying palms that create that perfect tropical frame. Lounge chairs right on the sand mean you're seconds from swimming in the ocean or floating in the pool—pure bliss!
2. The Beachfront Vibe: Located on a gorgeous stretch of Phuket coastline, the resort offers direct access to soft sand and gentle waves. Sunset walks here are absolutely magical when the sky explodes in oranges and pinks reflecting off the water. Early morning is super quiet—perfect for those peaceful solo strolls before the day heats up!
3. Incredible Value at $68/night: For a beachfront resort with this vibe, the price is almost unbelievable! Those 10.8K likes and 9K saves on the viral post make total sense now—luxury tropical escape on a budget. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and many offer sea views that make mornings feel like a dream!
Personal tip: The best photo spot is from the pool's edge looking out toward the sea at golden hour—that's where the viral shots happen! Come around 5:30 PM when the light turns warm and the crowds thin out. The reflections of palms in the calm pool water against the sunset sky are pure Instagram gold.
Getting Around: The resort's location gives you beachfront tranquility while keeping you connected to Phuket's attractions. Taxis and scooters are cheap and plentiful for exploring nearby restaurants, night markets, and island sights. The staff can arrange tours to Phi Phi Islands or Phang Nga Bay—don't miss those!
Don't miss grabbing fresh coconut water from nearby vendors and just floating in that incredible pool watching the clouds drift by. At $68 a night, this is the kind of affordable paradise that makes travel dreams come true!

Mai Khao Beach
Mai Khao Beach is one of the most serene and unique beaches in Phuket. It is the longest beach on the island, stretching approximately 11 kilometers, located in the northern part of Phuket. As part of Sirinat National Park, the area remains natural and uncrowded.
The charm of Mai Khao Beach lies in its tranquil and open atmosphere, offering an unobstructed view of the horizon. During sunrise and sunset, the sky is painted with golden orange hues reflecting on the sea, creating a stunning view perfect for a leisurely stroll along the beach or capturing the beauty of nature.
Another highlight is the airplane spotting area near Phuket International Airport. Since the beach is close to the runway, visitors can see planes flying overhead at close range, especially during landing. The sight of airplanes against the sky and the sunset has become a popular photo spot for tourists.

The atmosphere is wonderful, with a cool sea breeze and a panoramic view of the ocean stretching as far as the eye can see. Especially in the evening, as the sun sets on the horizon, the sky gradually transforms into shades of orange and pink—so breathtaking that you'll find yourself snapping photos non-stop.

Cafe with a children's play area in the NAI HARN / RAWAI district of Phuket
I accidentally discovered a cafe that serves breakfast all day and has a wonderful play area on the second floor (by the way, not many tourists know about it and often stay downstairs with their kids).
The second floor is a great place to spend time and wait out the hottest hours. The play area is free to use! You only pay for the dishes you order from the menu.
The cafe also has an additional room where you can gather with friends or play board games.

🌅 Sunset Magic at Big Buddha Phuket – Thailand's Serene Hilltop Wonder 🗿✨
Spring in Phuket brings warm golden light and clear skies ☀️🌺 – perfect for chasing epic sunsets from high viewpoints with fewer crowds than peak dry season. We climbed to the magnificent Big Buddha (Phra Phuttha Ming Mongkol Akenakkiri) on Nakkerd Hill, the 45-meter white-marble statue overlooking Phuket's west coast and the Andaman Sea.
The drive up winding roads from Kata or Chalong takes about 20–30 minutes, but the panoramic views start early – lush green hills, distant islands, and the sea sparkling below 🏞️🌊. At the top, the massive Buddha sits peacefully, surrounded by bells and prayer flags, with 360° vistas that take your breath away. Spring weather (28–34°C, sunny with gentle breezes) made exploring the site comfortable – we walked the marble paths, rang blessing bells, and soaked in the calm energy while the sun began its descent 🌄🔔.
As golden hour approached, the statue glowed against the fiery sky, casting long shadows over the hill. We watched the sunset paint the clouds orange, pink, and purple – one of Phuket's most iconic views, with Kata, Karon, and Patong beaches visible far below. The peaceful atmosphere, soft chanting from monks, and the sheer scale of the Buddha made it feel spiritual and cinematic at once 🙏🌇.
After sunset, the lights gently illuminate the statue, creating a magical night glow. Nearby viewpoints and cafes offer drinks with the same panorama – perfect for reflecting on the day. Big Buddha in spring is a must for anyone chasing serene sunsets, panoramic beauty, and a touch of Thai spirituality.
If you're in Phuket dreaming of hilltop sunsets and iconic views, Big Buddha is calling!

How to get from Phuket Airport for 100 baht
Phuket Smart Bus – the most convenient way to get from the airport to the beaches
If you're arriving in Phuket and don't want to spend money on a taxi right away, there's a very convenient option – the Phuket Smart Bus.
This is a municipal bus that travels along the island's west coast, connecting the airport with the main beaches.
Route
The bus departs from Phuket International Airport and stops at popular beaches:
Mai Khao
Nai Yang
Bang Tao
Surin
Kamala
Patong
Karon
Kata
Rawai
In fact, you can cover almost all of Phuket's tourist areas in one route.
Cost
A ticket costs 100 baht, regardless of distance.
This is significantly cheaper than a taxi, which costs 600-1,000 baht from the airport to popular beaches.
Buses run approximately every hour.
Travel time
It all depends on your destination:
• To Bang Tao – about 30–40 minutes
• To Kamala – about 1 hour
• To Patong – about 1.5 hours
• To Karon or Kata – about 2 hours
This is a fairly comfortable option for public transportation.
Helpful Tip
The stops are located on the main road, so sometimes you'll have to walk a bit or take a tuk-tuk to your hotel.
But if you're traveling light and want to save money, the Phuket Smart Bus is one of the best ways to get from the airport to Phuket's beaches.

A Relaxing Stay at Shugar Marina Lagoon Villas
#thailandhotel
During my recent trip to Phuket, I stayed at Shugar Marina Lagoon Villas, a peaceful resort located in a quieter part of the island, not far from the coast. The location is great if you want to be close to several beaches but still avoid the noise and crowds of the main tourist areas. The overall atmosphere of the hotel feels calm and private, surrounded by greenery and designed more like a small tropical retreat than a large busy resort.
🌴 The highlight of the property is definitely the pool-access villas. In the morning you can simply step outside your room and be right by the water, which makes the stay feel very relaxed and effortless. I also liked the layout of the rooms - they are modern, bright and well designed. One clever detail is that the room has two separate entrances from the pool terrace: one leading directly into the living area and another into the bathroom. After swimming or using the private jacuzzi, you can go straight into the bathroom to shower without walking through the entire room.
🛏️ The hotel also offers family rooms with bunk beds, which makes it a very convenient option for families traveling with children. Everything feels thoughtfully designed for comfort, especially if you plan to stay more than just a night or two.
In my opinion, the hotel works especially well for:
• families with kids
• couples looking for a quiet and private stay
• travelers who prefer relaxed resorts instead of large tourist complexes
• anyone who values personal space and a slower holiday pace
🏊♂️ The pool area is one of the nicest parts of the resort. It includes swings right in the water, a jacuzzi area, and different depth levels, so it works well for both adults and children. Around the property you’ll also find many stylish photo spots, tropical plants, and beautifully maintained pathways that make the whole resort feel very pleasant to walk around.
🚌 Another practical advantage is the hotel shuttle to three popular beaches, which makes exploring the coast easy without constantly ordering taxis. For guests traveling by car, there is also a large parking area, which is very convenient.
🔥 Overall, my stay at Shugar Marina Lagoon Villas felt comfortable, quiet and well balanced. It’s the kind of place where small details make a difference - from the thoughtful room layout to the peaceful resort atmosphere. A great option if you want to combine beach time with the feeling of having your own little tropical retreat in Phuket.

Nai Thon Wooden Bridge, Nai Thon Beach, Phuket - a sea viewpoint.

Another beautiful photo spot in Phuket that many may not know about is Nai Thon Wooden Pier. This small wooden pier extends close to the sea at Nai Thon Beach, offering a simple yet charming atmosphere.
From the pier, you can see the clear blue sea and Nai Thon Beach, which is quieter than many of Phuket's famous beaches. This makes it an ideal spot to relax, take photos, or enjoy a leisurely stroll along the beach.
Evening is the best time to visit, as the setting sun makes the sea and sky look especially beautiful. On some nights, you can even witness a stunning sunset. If you're looking for a peaceful spot in Phuket, this is a must-visit location for capturing photos.

Top 6 beaches in Phuket for a great vacation.
#phuket 1. Racha Beach. Although it's on a neighboring island, it still takes first place as it's the most picturesque. Getting there is easy: you can take a tour or rent a boat taxi.
2. Kata Noi. A long, quiet beach with beautiful water and a very pleasant atmosphere. We liked it the most in Phuket.
3. Surin. A large public beach with infrastructure and very beautiful water. The water color is gorgeous, although the beach lacks palm trees.
4. Laem Sing. A small, cozy bay. It's very calm in the morning, and you feel like you're relaxing on a quiet island. Then boats with tourists arrive, and you can pack up.
5. Freedom Beach. On the plus side, it's truly picturesque. It's hard to believe such an amazing beach exists so close to Patong. On the minus side, it's very difficult to get to and incredibly crowded.
6. Banana Beach. This used to be a wild, cozy, and picturesque beach. Now, all the wild stuff has been cleared out, and a beach club and a huge crowd of people have been built. I don't know why I put it on the top list, probably because it used to be awesome.

• Turquoise water 💎: clean, clear, Incredibly photogenic!
• Golden soft sand 👣: great for walking barefoot
• Family atmosphere 👨👩👧👦: less noisy parties, more tranquility
• Surfing waves 🏄♂️: a beginner's paradise during the rainy season (May-October)!
• Palm trees and greenery along the edges 🌿: natural shade for relaxing
🏄 What to do:
• Rent a sun lounger and umbrella (~200-300 baht/day) 🪑☂️
• Snorkel at the southern end of the beach – see fish and coral! 🐠🤿
• Walk to Karon View Point (~10 min by bike) 📸
• Dinner at a cafe on the waterfront: fresh fish, pad thai, coconuts 🍽️🥥
• Photoshoot with swings and palm trees in the background – shots like something out of a magazine! 📷✨
📝 Our tips:
• Come in the morning – fewer people, calmer sea for swimming 🌊
• Bring waterproof sunscreen – the sun is strong! ☀️🧴
• Watch out for flags: red = dangerous for swimming 🚩
• Keep valuables in the hotel safe – there are no lockers on the beach 🔐
• Try a mango shake or coconut right on the sand – instantly refreshing! 🥭🥥
💡 Conclusion: Kata is the perfect balance of beauty, comfort, and tranquility. This beach is perfect for those who want to enjoy the sea without the hustle and bustle, take amazing photos, and simply relax. I'll definitely be back! 🙌💙

Review of Thavorn Beach Village and Spa in Phuket
We decided to check out what a good 5-star hotel in Phuket looks like. We stayed at Thavorn Beach Village and Spa, located near Patong. It cost us 17,500₽ per night with breakfast included. For Thailand, this price is not low, so let's see what the hotel offers for this amount.
We were accommodated in a villa situated on an elevated area. The views were stunning, but access to it was only via a funicular, which was inconvenient. Upon check-in, we found dirty floors and rusty water in the bathtub. The furniture was old and felt fragile, as if it might fall apart. These were the only downsides of the hotel, and they were all related to the room.
The hotel grounds are very large and lush. The pool stretches across the entire property, giving the impression of being endless. We discovered a small botanical garden, a mini zoo, many interesting sculptures, and several restaurants.
I forgot to mention that the hotel is located on the first coastline, but I would say the beach is just a minor addition. Swimming there was not possible due to frequent low tides, and even when the water came in, swimming was still difficult because of the coral-covered seabed.
I must highlight the hotel's restaurant, which was excellent. The burger was amazing and served quite quickly. However, I didn't enjoy the breakfast. There were too many people, it was crowded, noisy, and there was nowhere to sit.
In conclusion, despite the hotel's shortcomings, I liked it overall. The guests were pleasant, the villa offered fantastic views, and the pool was truly impressive.
