Longest Surviving temple in Macao!🇲🇴
#timetotravel
Spanning multiple levels, A-Ma Temple comprises several pavilions, courtyards, and prayer halls dedicated to different deities. The temple's namesake, the goddess A-Ma, is revered as the protector of seafarers and fishermen, making it a place of pilgrimage for locals and visitors alike. Apart from its spiritual significance, A-Ma Temple also offers breathtaking views of the surrounding natural beauty. Strolling through the temple's tranquil courtyards, I found myself immersed in a realm of spirituality and serenity. The air was filled with the fragrance of incense, and the rhythmic sounds of devotees and monks added to the solemn atmosphere.
No entrance fee to enter the temple. Address: Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro, Macao.

Historical and Cultural heritage
#timetotravel #macaulifestyle #macautrip #timetotravel #historicalplace #Cultural Macao was the first European enclave in Asia. Its colonial history started with the arrival of Portuguese tradesmen in 1557. Over the years they developed Macao into one of the major trade ports in Asia - as a stopover on the route to Japan or as part of the Silk Route by sea. Macao is also the longest-lasting and finest example of interchange between Chinese and Western civilizations. The monuments that make up this WHS are divided into two zones: The central area can be found along the Rua Direita, leading from the ancient Chinese harbour in the south to the old Christian city in the north. Major monuments here are the A-Ma temple, the Leal Senado Square and the Ruins of St. Paul's Church.

The place is free but you must remain silent and respectful.
I do recommend to see this place if it’s your first time in Macau
Enjoy guys 😉

Mazu in Cantonese, Ma'ge in transliteration, Macao.
Foreign sailors' first stop upon landing in Macau is the A-Ma Temple.
So they called it Macao.
Goodbye, Mazu [folded hands]
The first time I saw the fragrance here, it was in a circular shape.
Sailors are supposed to come back safely.
After coming out of Mazu Temple, there is a small green western-style building on the left side of the small square.
Here is the administrative building of the Maritime Museum.
Working here should be very happy.
The green walls mix with white blinds.
Love this kind of cute and stylish house too much.
So romantic!
Take a rest on the chair after taking photos of the house.
I'll cross the road and take the bus back to the old city area.
In the gap of waiting for the bus, took a series of riverbank portraits.
Sometimes there is no fixed check-in.
Occasionally, the places we encounter are also very comfortable.
Blow the wind of the Greater Bay Area.

A-Ma Temple World Heritage
#celebratewithtrip #awesomepic #campingglamping #newyearadventure #foodie #yearofrabbit #MyTripVlog.
A-Ma Temple already existed before the city of Macao came into being. The name “Macao” is believed to derive from the Chinese “A-Ma-Gau” meaning “Bay of A-Ma”, on which A-Ma Temple is located. A-Ma Temple is situated halfway up the western slope of Barra Hill. It consists of the Gate Pavilion, the Memorial Arch, the Prayer Hall, the Hall of Benevolence, the Hall of Guanyin, and Zhengjiao Chanlin (a Buddhist pavilion),each forming a small part of the well-ordered complex which sits in perfect harmony with the natural environment. The variety of pavilions dedicated to the worship of different deities in a single complex make A-Ma Temple an exemplary representation of Chinese culture inspired by Confucianism, Taoism, Buddhism and multiple folk beliefs.

Maritime Museum
#yearofrabbit #newyearadventure #tripblazers #campingglamping #foodie #MyTripVlog.
One of Macau’s most visited museums, Macao Maritime Museum is located in Barra Square, opposite to the famous A-Ma Temple.
The museum sums up a variety of stories, from the development of the fishing industry and boat construction to the early Portuguese exploration of Macau and within the context of greater South China. It is divided into four different areas: maritime ethnology, maritime history, maritime technology, and the aquarium. The latter is a gallery of four aquariums, each representing a specific sub-aquatic environment where different species of fish can be observed.

A-Ma Temple
#yearofrabbit #newyearadventure #tripblazers #celebratewithtrip #campingglamping
The A-Ma Temple is a destination offering silence and spectacular views. It contains six main parts, all of which make up a series of classical Chinese architectural treasures, and this is all guarded by stone lions. Entering it and going across a gateway, you will reach the Hongren Hall by a winding path. A statue of Mazu is worshipped here, and it is believed that the hall has the longest history in the complex. Going ahead, the Hall of Avalokitesvara will present itself to visitors. It was constructed mainly using bricks and stone in a simple style. Compared with the other halls, the Zhengjiao Chanlin (a Buddhist hall) was designed tastefully both in regards to size and architectural style.

A-MA TEMPLE
Dedicated to the goddess Matsu, the splendid A-Ma Temple (Templo de A-Má) was built on the Macau Peninsula in 1488 and was the inspiration for the renaming of the city by the Portuguese a few decades later. Part of Macau's UNESCO Historic Center, this Buddhist temple is one of the city's most important religious sites and is well worth exploring.
Divided into six easily accessible sections - the Gate Pavilion, Prayer Hall, Memorial Arch, Hall of Benevolence, Zhengjiao Chanlin, and Hall of Guanyin - this temple features numerous interesting things to see, from its many fierce-looking stone lions and statues of the goddess Matsu to shady spots to stop and contemplate the serenity of the temple grounds, as well as spectacular views over the bay.
The Foraleza do Monte is located right next to the ruins of St. Paul's Cathedral.

A-Ma Temple is one of the tourist attractions for Macau. It is known to be one of the oldest temples in Macau, as it has been around for approximately 400 years. It also plays an important role in how the name Macau was derived!

Very cool architecturally and lots of interesting nooks and crannies to explore, although you'd be hard pressed to spend more than 20-30 minutes here, even with a guide explaining things to you (as we had). Very strong incense smell as there are lots of places for people to burn incense that lasts for days. Should be included on any thorough Macau itinerary.

"Farewell to Macau"
Macau is really a place where happiness is bursting, so we smashed the romance and color of the sugar
Portuguese architecture in Macau. Falling from the gaps in the leaves of the street, the corner of the mouth is a sweet Portuguese egg tart ~
I recalled that I came to Macau for the first time many years ago. I pressed the road with my friends in the early morning, those unique tiles, charming street lamps. Like the scene in the movie!
In short, there are endless stories in Macau and I look forward to the next trip to Macau! Chengdu travels to and from Macau, Macau Airlines direct flights, short time, easy to arrive! On the plane, you can experience Macao's delicious food first, why the flight attendants are hot and beautiful!
~ I really cant leave! See you next time.

Taking a spring hike and enjoying the greenery, Gangli is really a nice choice
Taking a spring hike and enjoying the greenery, Gangli is really a nice choice. Away from the hustle and bustle of the big city, coming here to feel the nature is really comfortable.
🚗It is recommended to drive there, as there is a free parking area in the village.
There are quite a few attractions worth visiting near Gangli Village, such as Tianhou Ancestral Temple, Fuhui Temple, Mazu Pavilion, "Mazu's Waves", "Three Incense Sticks" reef, etc., all of which are worth checking in.
Fuhui Temple, for example, is quite popular for its incense burning. It is a typical Siheyuan-style temple, covering an area of more than 1,200 square meters.
Walking around like this is really tiring, it is suggested to bring some water and food.

Authentic Macau | Three Great Ancient Temples in Macau Perfect for History Enthusiasts
Macau is not only home to modern shopping malls, hotels, and glittering casinos, but also on the Macau Peninsula, there are magnificent European-style cathedrals as well as a place for traditional culture. Among them, the "Three Great Ancient Temples" are famous cultural and prayer sanctuaries.
Puji Zen Temple🪭
The Puji Zen Temple, commonly known as the Guanyin Hall, is the largest Buddhist temple in Macau. It is one of the Three Great Ancient Temples of Macau, along with the A-Ma Temple and the Lotus Peak Temple. The temple's founder was Shi Lian Da Shan (1633-1705), belonging to the Zen South Chan Cao Dong Sect. The main building is divided into three halls, and there is a rear garden behind the temple, which is rare in the Hong Kong and Macau region.
Lotus Peak Temple🪭
The Lotus Peak Temple was initially built in the twentieth year of the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty (1592). In the mid-Qing Dynasty, because the present Mount Guia was originally named Lotus Peak, the temple was named after it.
The existing scale was rebuilt in the second year of the Guangxu era (1876). The front hall of the temple's central route is dedicated to Mazu, and the rear hall to Guanyin. The interior still preserves the original appearance of the late Qing Dynasty, exuding an ancient charm and full atmosphere.
A-Ma Temple🪭
The A-Ma Temple is one of Macau's most famous historical sites and one of the three great temples of Macau. Even the city's foreign name "Macau" is derived from this temple. Whether you are a fan of historical sites or temples, this is a must-visit spot on your trip to Macau.
It was built at least before 1553, mainly dedicated to Mazu. The current scale was established after two renovations and expansions in 1874 (the thirteenth year of the Tongzhi era) and 1875 (the first year of the Guangxu era).
Visiting tips: All three temples are located on the "Macau Peninsula" and are very suitable for history enthusiasts to visit together. Each site is accessible by bus, with no admission fee. It is recommended to visit before 16:00 in the afternoon to avoid missing out.

A-Ma Temple in Macau||A 500-year-old destination for seeking divination and blessings
||A 500-year-old destination for seeking divination and blessings. The A-Ma Temple in Macau was initially built during the Ming Dynasty, with some saying it was established in the first year of the Hongzhi era (1488), and others claiming it was in the thirty-third year of the Wanli era (1605). It has nearly five hundred years of history and is the oldest Taoist temple in Macau. It has also been listed as one of the World Heritage Sites.
The temple is well-preserved, surrounded by lush greenery, and always bustling with worshippers. Although the number of people seeking divination and blessings is not very high, there is a steady stream of visitors.
If you are interested in history, this is a place in Macau you definitely shouldn't miss. I happened to pass by yesterday, and of course, I went in to pay my respects, and on my way out, I even got interviewed.
