[2024 Beijing Stay] Travel Guide for A.C. Art Museum Hotel (Updated Oct)
Surrounded by Art and Marble
Most travellers to Beijing, need to find a Hotel that's centrally located, near all Embassies and other state departments.
That's what initially brought us to the A.C. Embassy Art Hotel.
Most Embassies are within walking distance from this hotel.
We did however receive much more, than we set out to get.
To our suprises the owner is an Art enthusiast, and the Hotel has been made to form part of the Art, rather than to merely displaying it.
The entire Hotel has a combination of Marble and Onyx flooring and wall cladding. The contrasting colours, provides a sense of grace and elegance.
There is an Art Gallery, adjacent to the Hotel, and admission is free to Hotel guests, with a nominal charge for non guests.
The restaurant has a table d'hote "buffet" available for breakfast, as well as an a la carte "menu", for Lunch and Dinner.
We ordered a fruit salad for lunch, it was beautifully crafted, and almost to nice to eat.
The room had nice furnishings, with unique art "paintings" on the walls. The bed was very comfortable indeed.
The Onyx and Marble, compliments the bathroom very well.
Our only regret, is that we simply did not have enough time during our two day stay, to enjoy and view more art.
P.S. There is a rooftop garden on the top floor as well, with a fitness center and art center as well.
You can enjoy breathtaking views of the city, from the rooftop garden.
I highly recommend that you visit this Hotel and Art centre, on your next visit to Beijing.
Life does not always have to be "business" only, a bit of "leisure time", makes the trip worth it.

Appreciate the beautiful stone painting art in Yingjie Hard Stone Art Museum
Yingjie Hard Stone Art Museum is located at No. 26 Dongzhimen Outer Street, in the Oga Art Museum Hotel. Judging from the sign at the entrance, it belongs to the No. 9 Hall of the Oga Art Museum. Hard stone art is a very unique art category. Natural stone paintings are mostly selected from rock sections formed by crustal changes and volcanoes 120 million years ago. The patterns formed by their textures and colors are like Chinese paintings and oil paintings, but they are different from both. They are like paintings but not paintings, a unity of heaven and man, and a masterpiece of craftsmanship. Each piece of work is unique and non-reproducible, not only a good product of nature's original creation, but also a source of inspiration for artists, and a truly world treasure. Professor Li Yingjie, the curator of Yingjie Hard Stone Art Museum, has conducted thematic research on geological aesthetics and explored the original ecological hard stone art. In more than 30 years of artistic practice, he has discovered and created a batch of original ecological hard stone art works with a unique artistic perspective, which has attracted wide attention from many experts, scholars, and art institutions at home and abroad. His works have participated in international art exhibitions many times and published a variety of collections. The 800 pieces of works in the museum make people feel the artistic charm of rocks in nature, reflecting the Chinese aesthetic view of 'unity of heaven and man', 'masterpiece of craftsmanship', and 'although made by heaven, it seems to be made by man'.
Enter the museum, take the elevator to the second basement, and you can see the wall full of stone paintings and various sculptures arranged in the hall. The themes of the stone paintings include landscapes, scenery, characters, still life, etc. The naturally formed textures and colors are really like the paintings created by human painters, and the styles are also diverse. They look like oil paintings, ink paintings, and meticulous paintings, which make people have to admire the craftsmanship of nature. The museum also designed several spaces with different characteristics. The most spectacular one is designed as a corner of the church, with huge stone paintings, exquisite sculptures, stained glass windows, chandeliers, marble walls and floors, full of design sense; some spaces are like grottoes, some spaces are like ancient castles, everywhere is an excellent photo location. In one exhibition hall, there are also some exhibits from Africa, showing the ancient folk items of Africa. There are not many visitors in the museum, but every visitor is deeply attracted. Among them, there is a five or six-year-old girl who lingers in front of the dazzling stone paintings, admiring them carefully, and keeps talking to herself, all of which are heartfelt praises like 'so beautiful' and 'I like this one the most'.

The Oga Art Museum hidden in the hotel—
The Oga Art Museum is located at No. 26, Dongzhimen Outer Street, inside the Oga Art Museum Hotel. This area belongs to the second embassy district. Across the street are the Canadian and Australian embassies, diagonally across the street is the German embassy, and the New East Road is nearby to the east. In front of the hotel building is a huge red half-body sculpture, but it is the lower half, which is very eye-catching. After entering the gate, there are all kinds of sculptures in the lobby, the overall artistry is full, there is an art gallery next to the stairs on the first floor, there are many halls on the second floor, and the Yingjie Hard Rock Art Museum is on the second basement floor, and the west side of the first floor leads to the hotel.
The gallery on the first floor is not large, with mahogany floors, white walls, and orange ambient lights on the ceiling. The environment is simple and elegant. The current layout is the 'Tomorrow's Yesterday Contemporary Art Works Invitation Exhibition', the walls are full of paintings, the themes of the works include portraits and landscapes, there are few realistic ones, many abstract ones, and some paintings feel quite abstract. Usually, people will find works that they don't understand very profound, and they will interpret the works in various ways according to their own understanding. Even the author himself did not have so many deep thoughts when creating, this has also become one of the reasons why abstract works are never boring.
There are many halls on the second floor, almost all of them are holding various activities, very lively, looking in from the outside, there are paintings and sculptures arranged like a gallery inside. The passages and corridors between the halls are also very special, with marble floors, antique stone walls on both sides, oil paintings on the walls, mirrors on the top, and the art atmosphere is full. There is a staircase leading to the first floor, also with antique stone wall surfaces, the walls are decorated with plaster prints, and there are clouds made of plaster on the top, making people feel as if they are in a medieval castle, the effect of taking pictures must be excellent.
