Gorgeous, historical Aqueduct of Segovia
If you’re going to Madrid, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is worth a visit too! About an hour or so away, one can conveniently purchase a bus ticket at the Madrid Moncloa station for maybe around 10 euros for a return ticket (I’m sorry I forgot the exact price but it was affordable!). And the bus takes you right to the centre of Segovia, which is great.
From there, in just 10 minutes or so you can walk/stroll to this amazing, impressive aqueduct, very obviously the main feature of this town. It’s unmissable and even the main street leading up to it is named after it. Its grand and old and anything grand and old is worth looking at, in my opinion hahaha because hey, it’s been standing for ages. A little piece of history and culture, you know?

Segovia, the old town is on a narrow and long rock, with a large number of historical sites, beautiful cathedrals, the Alcazar Castle in the fairy tale world is the gem in the architectural complex, the Roman aqueduct is the landmark here, one of the most magnificent projects left by the Romans in Spain, the aqueduct has more than 160 arches, built in the first century AD, more than two thousand years of history, and has been operating well until now. Standing under the aqueduct, looking at the giant building made up of large stones, I was amazed and stopped in admiration!

Ancient Roman Aqueduct
The Aqueduct of Segovia is a Roman Aqueduct built around the first century AD to channel water from springs in the mountains 17 kilometers away to the city fountains, public bath and houses till 1973.
A feat of engineering, the structure was constructed from 20400 granite blocks without any cement. The best place to view this monument is at Plaza del Azoguejo, the hub of the old town.
Its elevated section, with its complete arcade of 167 arches, is one of the best preserved Roman Aqueduct Bridges, and the two largest existing Roman structures in Spain. The old town and the Aqueduct was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985.

Segovia
This living proof of Roman ingenuity will take your breath away. Hard to believe it's stood for nearly two millennia. Stones meticulously placed without mortar held by gravity. Incredible. Make plans to grab lunch or a drink at one of the nearby cafes with this monument in full view. #spain

[Acueducto Romano, Segovia]
preserved from the ancient Roman period to the current canal bridge, the castle on the rock, from which you can see that the city of Segovia is quite brilliant. history. Needless to say, when standing in front of the 2000-year-old canal bridge, it has been marveled by its magnificent exterior architecture. The huge arches seem to be coming to you. I can imagine how many ancient Romans there were here. campaign. The ancient Roman canal bridge is 728 meters in length and consists of 166 arches. It is said that it was still used more than 100 years ago. In 1928, it was set up in the same place. It can be said that it has played an indirect role here.
Travel is life, never know what will happen next time, almost did not come to Segovia, here can be said to be unexpected beauty, ancient Roman canal bridge, retro To shine. Travel is a flowing classroom, and history and geography are at hand. Climb up the fortress and admire the canal bridge from a bird's-eye view. The light and shadow of the yin and yang are beautiful. As the sun changes, the imaginary canal bridge on the ground changes. No matter the wind and the sun have been standing here, different weather conditions present different majesty. If you arrive on a sunny day, you will see a more stalwart ancient Roman canal bridge, which is full of charm in the sun.
Stayed at the canal bridge for a long time until the twilight. At this time, the entire bridge surface of the canal bridge was illuminated by the golden sunlight. No matter how far it is, a quaint golden arch bridge is placed on the road. No artist can render the color like nature. The canal bridge can be said to be the old city of Segovia.

The Acueducto de Segovia is the most majestic and best preserved Roman ruins on the Iberian Peninsula. It is also a symbol of Segovia. Its image is used in the ancient city of Segovia. The waterway bridge was built in the 1st century AD, up to 28.5 meters, supported by 167 arches, and no bonding material was used between the stones that built the large aqueduct. The water comes from a cold water river 17 km away, which will filter out some sediment on the way, leading to the castle in the old town centre and the Assago Hall. The waterway bridge has been functioning well for nearly two thousand years. In the 15th and late 20th centuries, church bishops and local governments have carried out repairs and maintenance work. The Waterway Bridge is still guiding the flow of water to provide water for Segovia.

The ancient city of Segovia was built in the 80th century BC. When we came to this ancient city from Madrid, we were greeted by magnificent architecture and artistic atmosphere. As the best-preserved ancient city in the Roman Empire, every place here has the characteristics of ancient Rome. The majesty of the building is like the glory of this ancient city written with a heavy pen.
During the Roman Empire, it was a battleground for the military, so the bustling stayed in every corner of the ancient city, whether it was the "Snow White Castle" or the aqueduct that has more than 900 years of history. The ancient city has left a testimony. The buildings in the ancient city that were built in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance show the characteristics of the ancient city in the same vein. When we are in the meantime, we feel the romance of the medieval aristocracy, the natural scenery that has gone through thousands of years of wind and rain, and it seems to bring a retro filter, so that our self-timer comes with a soft light.
We chose a day trip to Segovia. It was time to arrive in Segovia at 10 o'clock in the morning, and the whole of Segovia had just awakened, a little foggy.
The hole in the aqueduct boulder and the edge that is gradually rounded by the wind. The large aqueduct is completely made of a large stone, and there is no cement, and these round holes are formed by hanging stones. This is the most magnificent expression of architecture in this history for nearly a thousand years. In front of such works of art, only marvel. Today, many architects are analyzing the big aqueduct in Rome. The only answer is one, and that is awe.
