Although it can be classified as a homestay in a broad sense, it may be more appropriate to define it as a "Boutique Hotel", which provides a more private travel experience. It doesn't have to be luxurious, but it's unique.
Accommodation: Book a basic room for two nights. Because the flight arrived in Lhasa late at night, I communicated in advance and upgraded to the highest-level open suite with a balcony (although it is only 45 square meters, the size is suitable and meets my living requirements). The modern Tibetan Wabi-Sabi style is very healing. The room rate includes breakfast, mini bar (unlimited times, although it is just cola and sprite, tea bags and hanging ear coffee bags are characteristic), tea and wine courtesy (the hotel's own bar and rooftop cafe can be drunk at will), night bed good night drink, 24-hour diffusible nasal oxygen supply (this is very good), high-power humidifier, Philips retro Bluetooth speaker, full set of Dyson, full set of Kohler, and cooperation with well-known Tibetan incense brand (very comfortable incense smell).
Breakfast: The category is not rich, but there are all three major categories of Chinese and Tibetan, and the taste is also passable, but the delicacy is a bit worse. But the bread I use for breakfast to finish and care most about has almost lost its moisture. It should have been placed outside for a long time, and there is no toaster. So, I ate it with butter and Tibetan beef cake, haha. I have always been curious why many small boutique hotels and homestays do not work harder on breakfast and make memory points. This is actually a very good place for such hotels.
Service: What I expected was the standard specifications of international chains, but also the relaxed and kind of private small shops, but there is a little distance at present. The attitude is very good, the response is timely, but it is a bit casual.
The choice of luxury hotels in Lhasa is traditionally St. Regis, Shangri-La and Intercontinental, and reluctantly add a Songzan, while Aro Manor provides a new experience. St. Regis is the first choice, with good location, good design, large rooms, and stylish park; Shangri-La is slightly old, but durable, comfortable to live in, close to Norbulingka and Tibet Museum; Intercontinental is slightly inferior, the location is far away, and the style is biased towards Westernization. As for Songzan, many people like it, and it has become a scale in Tibet. I have reservations (don't spray if you don't like it): the design, breakfast and even the service and the product package provided are only mediocre, mainly because it entered this field early, so it was the first.
For those who are interested in Aro Khampa and want to know more, you can take a look at the pictures in my comments. It is also a sincere work. There are also shops in Lijiang and other places, but the level of Lhasa is the highest.

Lhasa Manor | A place of faith and spirit.
【Space temperament: a poetic representative of "wabi" and "sabi"】
.
In the future, guests will choose homestays 🏨 not only to stay away from the bustling downtown area, but also to withstand the test of time in every detail, enough to heal and settle the confusion of life, and find a comfortable and comfortable "home ❤️". -Manager Gong Peizaba
.
【Wabi】is the simple and quiet 🌟 beauty integrated into simplicity, and 【Sabi】is the luster of time passing ⏳. Wabi-sabi is a philosophy, a state of mind, and a manifestation of a simple life.
.
This mentality seems to be dull, alienated, and experienced, but it has a charm that makes people taste 🔥 and go deep into it. That is the most essential need after washing away the lead.
.
【Natural power: a place of wabi-sabi built by faith and culture】
.
In the simple and unpretentious space, the first eye is accommodated by the advanced gray 🩶, which highlights the "Aro Kangba·Lhasa Manor". Walking into the interior, it perfectly integrates the diverse cultural elements along the Tea Horse Road 🐴 into the manor.
.
The entire space, cement gray, beige, earth yellow, log color, including light khaki, etc., are formulated into simple, dry 🤎 natural colors, which are the hidden guides in the space 🏠 narrative, and the artistic atmosphere surrounds every time and space.
.
In addition, the designer 🧑🎨 has achieved many innovative attempts in the creation, from materials to shapes, from colors to lights, from ornaments to landscapes, introducing more natural interests, making the space simple but not monotonous, elegant but not lacking vitality, allowing residents 🫅 to realize the wabi-sabi aesthetics of the world.
.
【The charm of light: the artistic space formed by architecture and light and shadow】
.
Light 💡 is both a recorder of time and a giver of architectural life; it has different states of cold and warm, and different expressions of strong 🔥 and soft 🥰.
.
The wooden square dining table and curved dining chair in the first floor restaurant 🍽️, under the light and shadow, enrich the spatial level from the texture, revealing the quiet poetry of the world 🎆; the second floor guest room, the light and shadow are projected from the glass window 🫙 to the ground, curtains, beds to art Decorations, filled with a gentle and warm, quiet and free Zen 🪷 atmosphere.
.
【Emotional mirror experience: the spiritual residence for modern people to heal themselves】
.
The manor 🏩 releases more space for contemplation, isolating the noise outside this small world. The large area of white space inside and outside the room can also accommodate everything: light ☀️, order, emotion 💕, free breathing...
.
Take into account the quality of vision 👀 and touch 👋. The guest room space is based on a gentle gray tone, natural texture, and the overall low saturation color, which restores the clean and pure 🧊 texture of the home.
.
The roof is covered with tea ☕️ space, with simple and warm outdoor tables and chairs, three or five friends tasting tea here, talking and laughing 😊 is the elegance of life.
.
What kind of "place of refuge" does modern people need now? Or what kind of travel 🏘️ space? Perhaps the great way is simple-use a design that echoes nature and respects the human heart to evoke the most real and soft emotional 💓 resonance.

This should be the most recommended homestay in Lhasa: Aruo Kangba · Lhasa Manor
This should be the most recommended homestay in Lhasa: Aruo Kangba · Lhasa Manor
On the first day, I stayed in this homestay, and later moved to St. Regis. If I had to choose one, I would choose this newly opened homestay without hesitation! (The rooms at St. Regis are big, but a bit old)
I had been looking forward to it for a long time before coming, and it did not disappoint at all. The young man who helped me with my luggage and introduced the room was very enthusiastic and nice.
The homestay offers afternoon tea and has a bar. I went for a drink in the evening; the snacks were delicious and the atmosphere was very nice!
The room has diffuse oxygen supply, and they also provide white fungus soup at night. The breakfast is also very good, and the Tibetan milk tea is delicious! The main thing is that the service is really thoughtful.
btw: I also met a super cute kid here and took photos and played together

Tibet Lhasa | A homestay that makes you not want to leave
| A homestay that makes you not want to leave. Tibet Lhasa | A homestay that makes you not want to leave.
Arro Khampa Lhasa Manor | A homestay that is not inferior to a five-star hotel. It was the best night I slept in my half-month stay in Tibet.
From check-in to check-out the next day, the whole experience was great. There were not many people, it was not noisy, and the decoration style had a sense of design. Every staff member I met was very considerate and friendly. On the day of check-in, it suddenly started to drizzle in Lhasa in the evening. It was a bit chilly. Just after the staff brought two cups of goodnight milk, they also brought ginger tea after the rain, which was really heartwarming and warming. The whole house is filled with oxygen, making people who have just arrived on the plateau feel at ease. But what I love more is the humidifier. I don't have much altitude sickness, but I wake up with a dry nose or mouth every day, to the extent that I wake up in the middle of the night because of dryness.
In Tibet, I really, really need a humidifier. I want to especially praise their toiletries. I suggest everyone take them away because you can't buy them outside (I asked when checking out, they have been carefully selected for two years). The scent is a light woody fragrance that I really love. Actually, from the moment you enter the door, you can feel that they have done a great job with many details, including the careful selection of products. I suggest they could offer an online purchase channel so that customers can buy them after leaving. For me, toiletries are something I really want to buy, and also the soft and fluffy wool blanket.
The breakfast is also quite rich, with Western, Chinese, and Tibetan options to choose from.
It's a pity I can't stay in Lhasa for a few more days. Next time I come, I will still firmly choose this place. I really love this atmosphere; it makes people feel very comfortable and relaxed.

It's a literary and petty-bourgeois style hotel that fairy ladies will love!!!
Staying in Lhasa, this was the most comfortable hotel
Choosing this hotel in Lhasa, which provides oxygen and humidifiers all day, is crucial for survival
It's a literary and petty-bourgeois style hotel that fairy ladies will love, with a very unique design, very artistic for taking photos, so it's important to have a photographer who knows how to compose shots.
Stayed for four days, it was very quiet at night, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was nice. They serve a silver ear mushroom soup every afternoon, which is thoughtful. Our room had an outside balcony, watching the stars at night was so romantic. The breakfast variety isn't extensive, but it tastes good, and the grilled mushrooms are delicious.
Fairy ladies going to Lhasa, take the chance to check it out, you definitely won't be disappointed.
Aruo Kangba Lhasa Manor, really liked it.

No one is allowed to miss out on staying at this hidden gem of a hotel, the Tibetan style
Aruo Kangba·Lhasa Manor🏨 is nestled among the magnificent snow-capped mountains🏔️, surrounded by vast natural scenery that is refreshing to the soul. Aruo Kangba—in Tibetan, it means 'come here, friend🧑🤝🧑'. The environment around the manor is filled with a tranquil🍃 atmosphere, making one feel as if they are in a mysterious world.
【Design】
The hotel's overall Tibetan wabi-sabi style🎨 is a rare sight of Tibetan aesthetics that cools my eyes👀 at first glance. Each painting🖼️ and illustration is worth savoring, neither outdated nor garish, the owner really has good taste👍. Moreover, the hotel is incredibly quiet, giving a sense of seclusion from the world, and no one will appear in your photos📷 even in places with different styles.
【Rooms】
The rooms are well-ventilated with oxygen supply💨, and the double rooms are quite spacious. What's surprising is that upon arriving in the room, there's a large terrace🏕️ where you can enjoy the snow mountains while drinking coffee☕️ or wine🍷, which calms you down. The bedding includes pure yak cashmere blankets🐂🛏️, making sleep💤 very comfortable. In addition, I must praise their facilities⚙️, Dyson hairdryers, Kohler basins, and even the practicality of the choice of toothbrushes🪥, toothpaste, and bathrobes is impressive‼️
【Dining】
✔️Restaurant: The breakfast🍳 options are plentiful, with Western, Chinese, and Tibetan styles available. You should try their homemade yogurt🧈, which is exceptionally authentic. For lunch and dinner, it's recommended to explore nearby places~
✔️Bar: The bartenders are quite professional, and the cocktails🍸 they make are all hits, I suggest you give them a try.
【Surroundings】
There are some traditional villages🏡 and temples🛕 around the manor, and even the world-famous Potala Palace, ancient and mysterious. You can go there to experience the local culture and customs, and the lifestyle and beliefs of Tibetan Buddhism.

In the highlands, Arou Kangba has its own distinctive tone
Getting to know Arou Kangba actually started with Master Zaba, a person with stories and experiences. The guesthouse that he presents is bound to carry his own distinctive tone.
Let me briefly share my impression upon entering the establishment. I could really feel the warmth from the moment I stepped out of the car. When checking in, guests are served highland pastries🥧 and butter tea, and the whole process is comfortable without any awkwardness or formality. It feels like home, with staff helping to carry luggage🧳 to the room and explaining the room's amenities in detail. The service is meticulous and thoughtful, and there is also a butler service via WeChat for any questions. Master Zaba has trained his staff well. The only shortcoming is that the Tibetan girls seemed a bit unfamiliar with their duties during meals, but that is forgivable, as there is always more to learn😄
Guesthouse facilities🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Service attitude🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
If you are used to five-star accommodations, you might also want to try this place. Everything remains the same, except for a feeling of home, a guesthouse with warmth.

Lhasa | The best hotel·Aruo Kangba, a home far away
Aruo Kangba, translated in Tibetan as 'Come on, friend'--the way of hospitality in Tibet on the highlands by the Jiqu River, provides a diverse and comfortable home for every friend who comes from afar.
The hotel is by the Lhasa River, not far from Barkhor Street, about a 20-minute walk, convenient transportation, but very quiet. The most important thing is that it is by the Lhasa River, which is great for me who likes every city where the river flows slowly. Basking in the sun and walking along the quiet riverside, watching the clouds roll and unroll unique to Lhasa is also a special memory.
The hotel's courtyard is like a courtyard space enclosed by the courtyard walls and buildings commonly seen in Tibetan residences.
In the central core ground area, 7 different colors of floor tiles are used to piece together a super large square.
It's like a magnified colorful Tibetan carpet, full of colorful vitality.
The architectural bullying levels are like the unique mountains in Tibet, with interlaced light and shadow.
The bedding is also excellent, sleeping every night is as comfortable as sleeping in the clouds. I sleep well every night at Aruo Kangba. In high-altitude areas, as long as I sleep well the first night, I basically won't have altitude sickness afterwards.
Shower gel, shampoo, body lotion, are all made by a Tibetan aromatherapy brand found by the boss, it's a good-smelling woody scent, so good that I want them to make it out separately. Worth mentioning is that there will be a small needle on the shampoo bottle, which is convenient to poke open the thick paper on the bottle mouth, this detail is super perfect.
