[Latvia] Riga New Town
#overseastraveltrip
In a corner of the "New Town" in Riga, the capital of Latvia, there is a place where Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) architecture is gathered.
All the buildings have a unique design and are so impactful.
They are characterized by bold carvings of human faces, animals and plants on the exterior.
These buildings are currently used as apartments and schools.
Some of them have been turned into museums, where you can see Jugendstil interiors and Art Nouveau furniture.

#urbanwanderings
My urban wanderings in Riga, the capital and largest city of Latvia, revealed a city full of cultural richness and architectural beauty. Known as a cultural center, Riga is home to a wide array of museums and concert halls that celebrate Latvian history and art. As I strolled through the medieval Old Town, its cobblestone streets and Gothic spires transported me to another era. The Art Nouveau architecture, with its intricate, decorative details, amazed me at every turn. Riga’s wooden buildings added a unique charm, reflecting the city's rich heritage. The seamless blend of history, culture, and stunning architecture made exploring Riga an unforgettable and inspiring experience.
