Travel to Athens, it is a must 🏛️
#travelgram
Visiting Athens was an incredible experience! Walking through the ancient city felt like stepping into history. The highlight was, of course, the Acropolis. The entrance fee was €20, but it’s totally worth it for the views of the Parthenon and the whole city from the top! The climb is a bit steep, but the panoramic view of Athens is breathtaking. You can also visit the Acropolis Museum, which costs €10, and it’s full of fascinating artifacts from ancient Greece.
Plaka, the old neighborhood just below the Acropolis, was another favorite spot. The narrow streets, charming tavernas, and lively vibe made it the perfect place for lunch. I had the best souvlaki there and loved wandering through the small shops.
If you’re into history, don’t miss the Temple of Olympian Zeus, and for a bit of relaxation, head over to the National Gardens, right in the heart of the city. Athens is a perfect blend of ancient wonders and modern life. 🇬🇷

Home of green parrots and turtles in Athens
The best place in Athens to hide from daytime heat with pleasure!
The National Garden is in 10 minutes by foot from
Omonia square. It is big green park, be sure you will not miss it) There are a lot of different trees, plants and flowers as well as lawn where you can rest in shades. Or you can visit a lake inside a park to feed ducks, but unfortunately lake area is closed for reconstruction now. Hope they will done it soon.
For my surprise the park is populated with green parrots, they are literally everywhere! but it is difficult to catch them with camera, they are mor timorous than pigeons.
And if you are lucky, there is a chance to find a turtles in the wild there, they are kind and social, keep some food with you to feed them:)
Have a nice stay in Athens!

National Park
The National Garden of Athens is the first planned garden area for public enjoyment in modern Greece, with the Parliament House to the north, the Temple of Zeus to the south, and Syntagma Square to the west.

Escape to the lush greenery and relaxing oasis located in the central district of Athens near the Parliament and Syntagma Square. The National Garden in Athens is great for bringing your family to just relax at one of the many benches available and take in the fresh air and beautiful serene surroundings. There is also a beautiful pond with ducks and geese, as well as a mini zoo and playground for children to enjoy. Overall it's a good green space for one to relax and recharge.

My experience at the National Gardens in Athens, Greece, was a refreshing escape into nature's tranquility amidst the bustling city. Located near the Parliament building, this serene oasis greeted me with its lush greenery, shaded pathways, and enchanting ambiance. As I strolled among the vibrant flowers and ancient ruins, a sense of relaxation and rejuvenation surrounded me. The peaceful duck pond and the tall palm trees offered moments of serenity. The National Gardens' central location in Athens made it a perfect retreat from urban life. It wasn't just a garden; it was a haven of calmness that allowed me to recharge and appreciate the beauty of both the natural world and the city's history, leaving me enchanted by its harmonious blend of nature and culture.
