It is a hotel located in a retro British-style square hidden in the wealthy area of Hong Kong. Geographical location and cuisine The hotel is located in Discovery Bay on Lantau Island, just a few minutes away from the airport and Disneyland. The hotel provides a free shuttle bus to the theme park (reservation required), making it a great choice for families who want to enjoy a leisurely trip to Disneyland or a beach vacation without rushing. The hotel is located right next to the Discovery Bay Plaza, a European-style leisure town with a supermarket, coffee shops ☕, and various restaurants such as Mexican burritos, Thai cuisine, Korean girls, Vietnamese food, and more. The hotel is also surrounded by other attractions such as the iconic seaside church, the largest indoor amusement park in Hong Kong - "L'Hotel de Ville", the central clock tower in the square, the love lock corridor, and it's only an 8-minute drive from the hotel to the Big White Bay Beach and the nearby Tung Chung MTR station. There are too many attractions or entertainment venues around the hotel to list them all. Friendly reminder ⚠️ Friends~ After checking in, remember to make a reservation for breakfast time at the front desk of the first floor restaurant, because the breakfast at this hotel needs to be reserved in advance! Take the DP03P line at the hotel entrance to Xin'ao Station, then transfer to the Disney special line to reach Disneyland. When taking a taxi back, sisters should pay attention to taking the blue taxi at the entrance of the park! How to get there : If you live in Kowloon or New Territories side, you can take MTR station to Sunny bay station, then take a taxi or bus to the hotel directly. If you live on Hong Kong Island, you can take a ferry service from Central pier number 3 to Discoverybay pier. It will cost you HKD46 for adult, HKD 23 for children. Highlights at surrounding areas : I just came to know that the fusion groceries prices selling at Discovery bay is extremely expensive, almost double of price if compare to the price in Kowloon and New Territories. (Please see attached photo). Furthermore, there are not many choices at the restaurants nearby, you will expect the foods selling at restaurants are super expensive. Discovery Bay is awesome, so peaceful and relaxing🥰. A great place for staycation. We stayed at the Auberge Discovery Bay Hotel, pretty nice and hired bikes for the day to get around the Island. Very pleasant rides, the kids love it but shame we didn’t have time to get to the beach 🏖 so we’ll definitely go again 🥰#staycation

In other way， there is free shuttle bus from Hotel back to sunny bay at 12:00 pm, subsequently, in the next every 2 hours. Besides that, you can either take a ride of Bus DB03P or by taxi. Staycation with family. Attractions - Ocean View Room, enjoy beach nearby. Hotels - Bathtub is big, can be catered for 4 of us, couple and 2 kids, nice Ocean view with 180 ° seaview. Food & Restaurants - Restaurant at lobby level with menu attached. Apart from there, you can also dining at couple of foods restaurants surrounding also such as Starbuck, Pizza restaurant, Russ coffee restaurant. Shopping - Great to shop at Market Place supermarket by walking distance, as well as seven Eleven store for drinks, finger food.

Auberge DB staycation This could be our favourite family friendly hotel. Satisfying my kids needs, including bathtubs, Disney Junior on tv, beach or playground at a reasonably good price. Before the playground reopens, I book the staycation packages that includes an afternoon set and buffet breakfast for 2 at $1100 per room, and upgraded to ocean front view for just $300 extras. Room is spacious, bed and amenities are acceptable, view is always spectacular when the sea is included; the fun clubs or I call it the game room for adults and kids are opened which is cool because we had a little bit of fun time with the table tennis, basketball machine and arcade. Afternoon tea set is alright and buffet breakfast with enough food choices. Do remember to book your time slot for buffet breakfast though. The next morning, we had breakfast at 8, done by 9 and head right to the beach nearby. Where we found this beach playground set up by the locals, and a pond next to it. K and D absolutely love this place! The swing, the zipline, the mini- tree house and their favourite spot is the pond where they found shrimp, crabs and fishes! They met other kids and started to play for hours. I love how kids are enjoying and being natural, at nature. I took kids back to the beach and playground a week later. They spent 3 hours at the pond and beach, playing with Italian and Aussie kids. We managed to catch a fish and crab for close observation before freeing them to the pond. I later learnt that this amazing playground we are enjoying are works of these kids hero dads, wanting their kids to be able to have fun outside, especially during the pandemic where the playgrounds are closed. The sea view can even watch the eagles fly closely, and we can see some buildings of Disneyland over the sea. The bath is like onsen or swimming pool, if the floor if it can be smoother that we can sit comfortably would be perfect.

My boyfriend's birthday in May booked ##Discovery Bay Hotel's breakfast + sea view room package to celebrate ~ As soon as you enter the lobby, there is a beautiful Chandelier, which shows your elegance. The check in staff was very friendly, and there was a Discovery Bay teddy bear to give😌 The room adopts a European style, with light tones and an unbeatable sea view as soon as you open the door, which really brings a very comfortable feeling. Hong Kong is small and crowded, and it is definitely not easy to find a bathtub here that is both expensive and affordable. The bathing area here can not only sleep more than two people, but also To be able to see a big sea view, against it to take a shower is super great 🤣🤣 Queen bed and room facilities are very neat and clean, nothing to be picky about In terms of transportation facilities, you need to take a bus to Discovery Bay after arriving in Tung Chung. Calm hotel with a great view

The hotel is the only hotel located in Discovery Bay, a sort of resort like, mostly residential area of Hong Kong. As a result, it also makes for a great staycation. Most rooms have a seaview but otherwise it's still a nice hotel. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms have a great view if facing the sea. The high windows provide for great natural light that permeates the room. Like I previously mentioned, it's a great area as it's quite and feels very much like you're in an enclave. Of course this means it is less convenient to go out but there are still buses to bring you to Sunny Bay and there's a direct bus to the airport. Auberge , Discovery Bay The best ever hotel I and my family have ever stayed for staycation. We stayed there for at least 3-4 times per year over the last 5 years. It is the best destination for family with kids. A pleasant and tranquil environment which is suitable for those who wants to take a break from the busy life in the city.

Meet Goliath the Horse

When we stayed at Auberge Discovery Bay, we found out about this activity of meeting a horse (which cost only $35 per person), which we signed up. The “stable” is actually a very short walk from the hotel, right at the back of the DB North Plaza. We were introduced to Goliath, a beautiful horse from Canada. He’s welcoming to all, will move his head closer to you when you pet him. it’s a good chance for the kids to see a real horse in real life, and they even get to feed him. However our family can’t help but wonder if Goliath has to stay in the make-shift stable in the back of a shopping plaza. Luckily the staff caring him told us Goliath does get to go out every day for fresh air. It was a bit difficult to ask questions when most parents just want photo opportunities of the kids with the horse - maybe the hotel can make it a more meaningful activity by having a Q&A session for kids to learn about the horse!
