Due to limited time on this trip, I took my child to play the northern route of Pingtan in a day and a half.
🌟Route: Xianrenjing—Beigang Village—The most beautiful island ring road—Jingsha—Stay in Tanshui Village—Changjiangao—S Bay Fairy Tale Town—Windmill Forest Road—Northern Bay Ecological Corridor
🌈Popular spots on the northern route:
1️⃣Xianrenjing: Here you can see cliffs and sea erosion wonders, like a mountain split in the middle, with goose soft stone scattered at the bottom of the valley, and the surging waves in front.
2️⃣Beigang Village: A cultural and creative village that became famous because of the filming location of 'Where Are We Going, Dad?', but I don't think there's anything special, just a small village by the sea with stone houses, most of which have been converted into homestays. It's suggested that you can skip this place ❌
3️⃣The most beautiful island ring road: A ring road between Beigang and Changjiangao, with sunshine ☀️ beaches 🏖️, windmill fields, etc., and some corners of the road can be surprisingly open and beautiful, better seen with eyes than captured in photos 📸. There are many snack stalls along the road where you can eat while strolling.
4️⃣Jingsha: Known as the 'Little Iceland'! Besides the beach, there is also a large area of black volcanic rock. On the left side of the beach, there is a black rock cave resembling Iceland's blue ice cave, where many people queue up to take photos. You can only enter during low tide, but the bottom rocks are sharp, so it's not recommended to take children there for photos. The black rocks by the sea are also photogenic.
5️⃣Tanshui Village Internet-famous swing: 📍Tanshui Village Committee, there will be signs by the road when you are close. It costs 10 yuan per person to swing for photos, and it's very photogenic with blue sky and white clouds, but I think it's a bit expensive.
Tanshui Village has opened quite a few homestays, the environment here is relatively quiet, close to the Changjiangao night market, and dining is within walking distance. It's also a frequent area for blue tears, recommended for those who like quiet.
I stayed at the Gucheng Jiuyu Homestay in Tanshui Village, with a very high first floor, a new environment, and an outdoor hot spring pool connected to hot water. This season, after the children play in the sea, they can soak in the hot water in the pool.
6️⃣Changjiangao: Super suitable for sunset photos, and when the weather is good, you can also see the windmill sunset orange sea. Dining is convenient, with many restaurants nearby, as well as a night market for you to choose from.
7️⃣S Bay Fairy Tale Town: 📍Yutang Branch Line, the lighting is beautiful when the weather is good, and the red-roofed church in the distance is very photogenic.
8️⃣Windmill Forest Road: At the end of the road are large windmills, forming a clear contrast with the size of people.
9️⃣Northern Bay Corridor: Pingtan viewing walkway, here you have glass walkways～postcard frames～message in a bottle beach～ring sea road
🌈Travel suggestions:
✅The seaside wind is too strong, don't wear short skirts! It's not recommended to let your hair down!

Fuzhou-Pingtan Island North and South Ring Road
A great place for leisure~ Wander aimlessly around the island on the North and South Ring Road, and stop wherever you want to spend half a day, it's very comfortable~ Especially love the sunset at Changjiang'ao🌄 and the beach at Tannan Bay~ You can stay at Tannan Bay for a whole day without getting bored^ I prefer watching the sunset while driving around the ring road at Changjiang'ao. As the scenery changes, the sunset clouds also change with time, and it's really beautiful! Especially the sudden view of the pink and purple twilight at the corner, it's as beautiful as a fairy tale. Jing Sha is also nice, going down for a walk and if someone skilled takes photos, it can be very picturesque. 68 Sea Miles requires a ticket, but it's okay to go for a walk. Beigang Village has many people who like the stone house architecture, which is a local feature of Beigang. You can see the sunrise in Beigang, but I've heard people say you can see the sunset 'but I really didn't see the sunset' and the place I stayed in Beigang faced the sea with a 3-story terrace, and I really couldn't see the sunset. Both the North and South lines have their own characteristics, and slowing down makes it feel more comfortable. I see some people say that Pingtan can be done in 2 days, but that's just skimming through the sights, one after another, and it's possible to tour that way. But it really lacks feeling~ Slowing down in Pingtan, I think, is better. I feel that even 5 days in Pingtan could be extended by another two days. I went in mid-May and could still chase the 'tears'~ (However, be careful when chasing the 'tears', it's really dark by the sea at night, and there are occasional trip hazards like stones or objects on the beach that you can't see because of the darkness, and it's easy to fall) If you've never been to Pingtan, it's really worth a visit. The locals in Beigang say that in July, the sky is the same color as the sea~ I imagine that must also be very beautiful. Also, I must mention that the mosquitoes in Pingtan are really fierce, each one more bloodthirsty than the last, so be sure to do a good job of mosquito prevention

🌟 Highlights: Pingtan Island now has high-speed rail service 🚄, allowing direct access from Fuzhou. We went there in the summer, when the weather was fine and sunny ☀️, but also very hot, so sunscreen is a must. The better the weather ☁️, the more beautiful the scenery, and the bluer the sea 🌊. ✅In the morning, head to Beigang Village first, which is also the most popular cultural and creative village in Pingtan. There are various seaside coffee shops and seafood restaurants. Eating, drinking, and taking photos is the most comfortable way to vacation by the sea! I recommend two coffee shops in Beigang Village, Stone Can Sing and Lao Chai Coffee☕️, both have creative shops and a second-floor sea view terrace, which are great for taking photos📸 Lao Chai's summer special coffee is delicious!
✅In the afternoon, follow the northern route and first visit Jing Sha to take pictures of the black sand beach. If you don't have time to go to Xianrenjing, you can just visit Jing Sha🆓. Follow the online route and park near the stone monument in Jing Sha Village🚗. Walk down the seaside boardwalk, and after a ten-minute walk on the left, you'll arrive!
It's insect-free in winter which is nice, but the rocks can be slippery so I suggest wearing sports shoes~💡 The popular cave photo spot requires visiting during low tide, so check the tide schedule in advance, as you can't enter during high tide.
✅In the evening, head to the northern S Bay and the glass walkway to watch the sunset🌅. Navigate to 📍Yutang Branch Line, and along the way, you'll see the Changjiang'ao offshore wind farm, which is really spectacular!👀

✅In the morning, go to Cat Head Ridge, which is less crowded with tourists. Just follow the trail and climb the mountain for about 15 minutes to reach the top, where you have a broad view overlooking the entire bay!🌊 On the winding mountain trail, you can take stunning photos of the mountain-sea scenery➕ windmill spot, don't miss it!
✅In the afternoon, if you have time, you can explore the southern route. The more popular spot on the southern route is Monkey Research Island. Navigate to 📍68 Sea Mile Scenic Area, which has three islands in the entire area. You need to park at the entrance and take a shuttle bus or walk to tour. There are many photo installations, and the main highlight is the place closest to Taiwan!

A village perched on steep slopes, well-preserved and a typical island style, the best place for night photography and check-ins.
6⃣️ Northern Walkway Summit
Walk another kilometer up the mountain path, and make sure to watch the sunset from here.
7⃣️ Cycling around Beihai Island
The whole route is about 10 kilometers, the most beautiful island road on Pingtan Island, breathtaking from every angle.

1. Pingtan County is a quiet and romantic niche tourist destination, with affordable prices, costing only a few hundred yuan per person.
2. You can easily reach Pingtan by taking a plane from Fuzhou, followed by a 50-minute high-speed train ride.
3. It is highly recommended to stay in Pingtan County. After settling your luggage, you might want to visit the local snack shops in Haitan to taste delicious dishes such as sea mud pancake, flower steamed cake, Zhenchang local wine, and Shilaiyunzhuan.
4. You can choose to take an electric car or a car to the 'Tear Chasing' scenic spot. By searching the 'Blue Tears Zone' in the 'Traveling in Pingtan' mini program, you can predict the chance of seeing blue tears that day and find the concentrated viewing points.
5. The next morning, you might want to try Tan's buns, served with seabed tofu soup, noodle filaments, and peanut soup.

Pingtan | Nanny-level Guide | Is the sea worth it in winter?

Winter with the sun, the experience is still very good.
Whether it's a homestay, or a chartered/rented car💰, it's very fragrant.
No one fights for parking spaces, no one fights for dining tables, and no one even fights with you for WC (this is the most practical), but be sure to check the weather before coming, preferably for two consecutive days of sunny weather☀️.
The first scenic spot on the north line starts from Xianren Well.
1️⃣Xianren Well:
There is a small road about 1 kilometer away from the scenic area. If you don't want to walk, you can also choose a sightseeing car. The best photography location is in the middle of the black rift. Pay attention to the reef under your feet to avoid slipping. There is also a Xianren Valley (the drone vision will be better).
2️⃣Beigang Art Village:
Stone houses, backed by mountains and facing the sea, have a superior geographical location. There is also the location of Where Dad Goes. However, perhaps because of the 🔥, this village is now very commercial. Whether it is worth coming or not, it's up to you.
