Enjoy with colourful hot springs 🌸
#2023travelwish
I had the experience of travelling to Beppu.
Beppu is famous for its onsen (hot springs). Rather than bathing, there are hot springs for viewing also. And each one is formed different way and has different properties.
There are 7 hot springs known as ‘Hells of beppu’. If you have time, it is recommended to visit each of them.
There are also foot baths for the feet in these places. It is a great way to relax and it is recommended to take towels for your feet with you. At the same time , some places give towels to visitors.
Note: You don’t have to visit all of them. However, you have to pay the entrance fee for each of them. If you buy a packet , you can pay 2000 yen (15$) one time and can visit 7 hot springs. You can take the ticket from ticketing place at the entrance of any hot spring place.
As you can see with photos, this view is amazing and it deserves to be visited.

Colourful Hot Springs in Beppu
In the city of Beppu of Oita Prefecture, Kyushu, there are steaming hot springs which they call hells for viewing that are popular with tourists. Their unique appearances make the hot springs spectacular. Beppu is the second largest producer of geothermal water in the world.
The different types of hell are derived from the different types of water. Umi Jigoku, or Sea Hell in Japanese, is named for its vibrant cobalt blue waters surrounded by a small Japanese garden. The blue colour is the result of sunlight hitting the water surface. The water is so hot that clouds of steam constantly obscure its surface. Another hot spring that is interesting is the Chinoike Jigoku or Blood Pond Hell, named after the vibrant red colour of the steaming hot pond due to the iron in the water.
There is also a free foot bath for visitors who are tired from all the walking which comes from natural hot spring waters. This foot bath is truly a lifesaver to sit down and relax. In addition, they also sell food items boiled using the spring waters such as eggs.

By the way, everyone will come to Japan to do well, and say goodbye to the warmth of the cups.
Because Japanese people usually drink ice water, no matter how cold it is; hot water is only used to brew tea and coffee; there is no warm water.
Do you know how the temperature of up to 80 degrees is reduced to the level available at home? Of course, there is a very clever folk facility - the water tower!
is such a device, with bamboo branches layered, water is sent to the top, along a layer of bamboo branches, in contact with the air, the temperature is reduced to a usable level. Then use a pipe to transport to a home.
The local government has a large drying tower to transport to each household; the big inn will also have a model version for residents to visit.

Beppu Jigoku Onsen Pilgrimage: The Mysterious Hells Crafted by Nature and Their Breathtaking Scenery
To reach the 'Jigoku Onsen Pilgrimage' from JR Beppu Station in Oita Prefecture, the most convenient way is to take a bus that goes to Beppu's main tourist areas. From the station, take the 'Kamenoi Bus' and travel about 15 minutes to the Kannawa Onsen area in Beppu. Here, several 'hell' hot springs are gathered, and you can pay an admission fee to tour each of them. The Jigoku Onsen Pilgrimage mainly consists of seven hells (Umi Jigoku, Chinoike Jigoku, Tatsumaki Jigoku, etc.), each characterized by its unique color and natural phenomena.
Experiencing the Jigoku Onsen Pilgrimage firsthand, you will be amazed by the overwhelming wonders of nature. The name might sound scary or bizarre, but the actual hot springs' scenery is incredibly beautiful and mysterious. Especially the blue water of 'Umi Jigoku' shines like an emerald, and the red water of 'Chinoike Jigoku' is truly unique and impressive. Each hot spring shows different colors and atmospheres, making it enjoyable to tour multiple locations rather than staying in one place. Watching the water boiling at over 90 degrees Celsius at each hot spring, you can feel the immense power of nature, leaving a strong impression worthy of being called 'hell.'
Moreover, it's not just about viewing the hot springs; you can also purchase local specialties made with hot spring water or enjoy snacks at small museums or shops around the area. Particularly, eating steamed eggs or corn using the hot spring steam is quite fun. The well-maintained gardens and rest areas around the hot springs are also attractive, making it a good place to take a break if you get tired of walking. The Beppu Jigoku Onsen Pilgrimage offers a special experience beyond a simple tourist spot, allowing you to feel both Japan's hot spring culture and the power of nature in a unique place.

My visit to Beppu Hells was a scorching success! This fascinating attraction in Kyushu, Japan, ignites the senses with its eight bubbling hells. I was captivated by the kaleidoscope of colors and surreal landscapes. From the fiery red of Chinoike Jigoku to the cobalt blue of Aoike Jigoku, each hell was a natural wonder. The steamy atmosphere, eerie sounds, and intriguing legends added to the allure. Beppu Hells is a must-visit for thrill-seekers and nature enthusiasts. Its unique blend of geology and mystique has forever seared an impression on my mind!

Beppu's Seven Hells Hot Springs
Beppu's Seven Hells Hot Springs are like volcanic eruptions, with gases constantly bubbling up from the ground, making it both terrifying and mysterious!
In some ponds, there are hungry hippos that you can feed with vegetables for 100 yen!
There's also a place called 'Crocodile Hell' where 80 crocodiles live together. It's really special! But the nearby spring water reaches temperatures of up to 99 degrees Celsius, so you can't go in.
You'll see the red 'Blood Pond Hell,' which is said to be the oldest hell hot spring in Japan!
Additionally, there's the pale blue 'Sea Hell,' which is 200 meters deep and very spectacular!
Using the steam from these hell hot springs to cook food is called 'Hell Steaming,' a tradition that has been passed down for a long time! Some soft-boiled eggs and baked puddings are also cooked with this steam!
When you come here, you really should visit all seven 'hells' at once. You can buy a combined ticket for the tour, which takes about 2 hours and costs less than 2000 yen!
If you don't want to join a tour, you can enter each hot spring individually for 400 yen each. But be careful, the water temperature is very high, so don't go in for a soak!
Overall, this place is really special. Besides these amazing animals, there are many mysterious natural landscapes that you have to see for yourself!

Beppu, shrouded in mist
⛩️ Beppu is located in Oita Prefecture, Japan, and is the second largest city in the prefecture. It is famous for its hot springs, with over 200 public hot springs throughout the city. The abundance and variety of spring sources are also among the world's most remarkable. These hot springs are known as 'hells' due to their appearance and temperature, which give a terrifying and spectacular impression. There are eight major 'hells' hot springs in the Beppu area, including the Sea Hell, Oniishi Bozu Hell, Mountain Hell, Shaven Head Hell, Demon Mountain Hell, White Pond Hell, Blood Pond Hell, and Tornado Hell. Each 'hell' has its own characteristics and temperature, with some of the springs reaching temperatures around 98 degrees Celsius, making them for viewing rather than bathing♨️. Among them, 'Sea Hell' is the largest of the eight springs.
⛩️ At the Beppu Hells, you can see the steamy mist of the hot springs every day. If you happen to visit on a foggy day, it feels as if you are in the midst of the TV series 'The Mist'. The view from above is even more dreamlike and fantastic.

Beppu Onsen Walk
Beppu sightseeing is a tour of eight hot water hells.
Since I came all the way here, I bought a common ticket for 2200 yen.
First of all, I went to Umi Jigoku, where I smelled sulfur and felt like I was in a hot spring area.
Next, within a 10-minute walk, there are Yama Jigoku, Kamado Jigoku, Oniyama Jigoku, and Shiraike Jigoku.
From Umi Jigoku to Kamado Jigoku on weekdays, the parking lot is vacant, so it would be nice to move by car.
Next, stop at the parking lot of Blood Pond Jigoku within 10 minutes by car and there is Blood Pond Jigoku, and Tatsumaki Jigoku is right next to it. Anyway, it was a hot day so it was tough. There are shops here and there, just like taking a break
You can go around in 2 hours.
It's hell when you walk on it.

Here is the dojo of "every time," and he is the first to warm up the hot spring medicinal herbs. In the wet winter, what can be nourished by the hot springs, and the feeling of warmth and body, and the feeling of being in the hot soup. It is possible to slowly remove the stubborn cold disease; local people will have special activities to commemorate the contribution of the scholars every year.
There are hot springs where you can stay and experience. Seeing the prime, it means not containing, pure bubble.
There are still a lot of unrivaled (free) hot springs in the city. It can be said that it is a government welfare project. It has been there since ancient times. It enjoys hot springs in public places, just like playing mahjong in our community. Usually and universal.

The color of the pool water is so varied. The most amazing thing is that if you spit a cigarette at the edge of the pool, it is pointed out that the steam will be more enthusiastic!
The most scientific explanation, do you know how rain and snow are formed? Originally, the water vapor state is invisible. Because of the appearance of condensation nuclei such as dust, water vapor is attached, and it becomes rain or snow with temperature.
The smoke sprayed here is equivalent to providing a large amount of condensation nuclei, so that more invisible water vapor becomes a state recognizable to the naked eye.

Beppu is the second largest city in Oita Prefecture and has abundant geothermal hot spring resources. The whole small town is surrounded by mountains. Although the geographical location is relatively remote, under the steaming of 2,700 hot springs of different sizes, Beppu is like a fairyland in Chinese classical mythology. This is a city surrounded by fog. . The "hell" of Beppu is actually composed of eight hot springs of different sizes and different shapes and different landscapes. It is said to be a hot spring, but the water temperature of these eight hot springs is above 90 degrees Celsius. Not to mention the hot springs, it is too close, it will feel hot and humid.
The eight hot springs are Hai Hell, Guishifang Lord Hell, Mountain Hell, Kitchen Hell, Ghost Mountain Hell, White Pool Hell, Blood Pool Hell, Dragon Roll Hell. Hai Hell is the largest of the eight hot springs. Beppu people often use the high temperature cooking eggs of the sea hell, as long as a basket of fresh eggs in 6 minutes is cooked. Visitors will not miss this hot spring egg with a hint of sulphur. The most distinctive one is the blood pool hell. It is famous for its "Chi Tang Spring", which is blood red and is considered by Japanese Buddhists to be a rapid stream from the Nether Hell. Also unforgettable is Ghost Mountain Hell, also known as "Crocodile Hell", where the crocodile farm now has three crocodiles. In addition, the piranhas kept in the Baichi Hell Park also surprised the news, but the most attractive thing is the color-changing water. The water sprayed from the hot springs turns back from the colorless transparent to the green. white.
