Due to crustal movement, the underground oil is affected by stratum pressure and continuously seeps to the surface along the stone cracks. The light part of the oil volatilizes, and the remaining thick liquid condenses with sand and soil to form this Heiyou Mountain. Heiyou Mountain has begun to overflow oil. In October 1, 1982, Xinjiang Petroleum Administration and Karamay City erected a nearly 3-meter-high stone carving monument and a statue of an old Uygur riding a donkey and playing Rewap on Heiyou Mountain.
