Silver Pagoda|Xishuangbanna Boruo Temple has a clear dress code
Visit Boruo Temple (Boruo Pagoda) in Jinghong City, Xishuangbanna. Boruo Temple is not large and differs from many travel bloggers' descriptions online. If you want to take photos here, it is recommended to first offer incense or simply pay respects to show respect (personal opinion).
Boruo Temple has a clear dress code (e.g., no short skirts). During the visit, you can still hear monks reminding visitors through loudspeakers to put on jackets and not to take photos in tank tops.
Sometimes, we need to think from a different perspective. Although taking photos here is beautiful, I hope everyone does not just chase 'traffic' and 'enthusiastically check-in'.
💞Brief History of Boruo Pagoda
In the 3rd century BCE, the third king of the Maurya Dynasty, Ashoka, unified most of India, creating the largest empire in Indian history. Ashoka was a devout Buddhist, generously supporting monks and sending nine missionary groups to spread Buddhism domestically and abroad. The eighth group reached Suvarnabhumi, which includes Lower Burma and Central and Southern Thailand. Later, Buddhism spread to Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and other Southeast Asian countries. In the 7th century CE, Buddhism was introduced to the Dai and Sirang ethnic groups in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Province, China, and has been passed down to this day.
In the 295th year of the Dai calendar (833 CE), Elder Phra Maha Ananda led a group of monks to Xishuangbanna to spread Buddhism. With the support of King Chao Phongmara, and the villagers led by Phra Yajeng of Manzhen Village, Phra Yabalanmashan of Manying Village, and Phra Lanmapongong of Manzhuangxie Village, they built the Boruo Pagoda. The pagoda's core is 122 feet deep (about 8.5 meters), and it is said to enshrine two strands of the Buddha's hair. From 1628 to 1644 CE, the pagoda was rebuilt, and four Buddha relics were placed in its core.

The all-white Buddhist temple exudes a faint pearl light religious holy land
It was the early Tang Dynasty when Buddhism was introduced to the Dai and Bulang areas of Xishuangbanna, Yunnan.
Although the silver-white appearance of Prajna Temple looks very new, its history can be traced back to 833 AD.
The Pama Ha Ananda who came to Xishuangbanna to preach came to Manzhen Village and presided over the construction of Prajna Buddhist Temple
This is the predecessor of the shining Prajna Temple today
After several renovations, the temple we see today retains the original base of the temple and was renovated in 2014
The location here is a bit off the beaten track, it is not a tourist attraction so there are few people, almost pure white pagoda buildings, very photogenic, it is a new photo check-in point in Banna!
The whole Banna, only this white temple, very unique!

Prajna Temple: Few people and beautiful scenery, allowing you to easily take stunning photos!
Xishuangbanna Prajna Temple, located in Jinghong City, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan, is a Theravada Buddhist temple that combines traditional Dai architectural style with Southeast Asian style. This temple has become popular on the Internet due to its unique architectural style and gorgeous decorations.
In the main hall of the Prajna Temple, there is a large Buddha pagoda in the middle, which has a unique shape and is symmetrical from any angle. The pure white pagoda stands on the hillside, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, solemn and sacred. In addition, the temple has a slow-paced atmosphere, giving people a sense of time silence and tranquility.
Although the temple is 10 kilometers away from the city, this does not affect the enthusiasm of tourists to visit. However, it should be noted that since the journey includes a long uphill road, it is recommended to choose to take a taxi or drive by yourself. In general, the Prajna Temple in Xishuangbanna is not only a Buddhist temple with a long history, but also a good place to appreciate exotic culture and beautiful scenery.

Prajna Temple in Xishuangbanna, a less popular and free place, refuses to be crowded
Hello, I am Xiao Fei, a person who likes to share travel experiences. I am very happy to meet you here. I have not been to Thailand, but I went to Xishuangbanna and saw a white pagoda near Gaozhuang. I strongly recommend choosing to go on a sunny day, because under the contrast of blue sky and white clouds, without filters, the scenery is really beautiful enough to make people cry! Although this place is small, the photos taken are very beautiful. It is worth noting that when dressing in Prajna Temple, you cannot wear too revealing clothes, such as tube tops, straps, shorts, short skirts, etc., and the lower body needs to cover the knees. The upper body can choose short sleeves, or match a shawl or cardigan. If the weather is good, you can wear sunglasses to increase the sense of fashion. However, when facing the white tower, your eyes cannot be opened.
JUSTICE MEYER
You must have never seen the most beautiful Prajna Temple in Xishuangbanna
For young people, visiting temples, worshipping Buddha and making wishes is one part, and taking photos and checking in is also an indispensable process. The temples with red walls and glazed tiles are the majority in the country, and the appearance is needless to say, but it is inevitable to have some aesthetic fatigue after seeing too much. The Prajna Temple located in Jinghong City, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, has exceeded people's understanding of ordinary temples and has become a popular check-in place due to its unique shape and white color.
The history of Prajna Temple is long, and the initial construction can be traced back to 833 AD. The elder Paramahana Ananda, who went to Xishuangbanna to preach the Dharma, led the monks to Manzhen Village. Under the protection of King Zhaopeng Maraza, he organized the villagers of Manzhen Village, Manying Village, and Manxie Village to build Prajna Temple.
The appearance of Prajna Temple has changed the image of most temples with red walls and green tiles. The temple is all silver, and it looks like a white pearl from a distance. The silver pagoda appears solemn and sacred against the blue sky and white clouds. It is similar to the White Temple in Chiang Rai, Thailand. It is pure, noble, elegant, and like a dream city.
The Buddha niche in the main tower of Prajna Temple enshrines the seven Buddhas of the week for tourists to pray for blessings. The Buddha niches in the four corners enshrine the Four Great Vajras, which are the Eastern Chiguo Heavenly King, the Western Guangmu Heavenly King, the Southern Zengzhang Heavenly King, and the Northern Duowen Heavenly King.
Precautions (speak the truth):
Banna is a place with a strong religious atmosphere (so there are so many temples), but there are a small number of people who treat these temples as tourist attractions and do whatever they want inside. I have seen girls wearing very revealing clothes, wrapping their shawls and mixing in, and then start to undress and take pictures, scratching their heads and posing, and some people climb to the base of the pagoda to take X photos, which is extremely hateful. You can have no faith, but please learn to respect.
So finally talk about the general taboos of the temple:
❌ Prohibit wearing revealing clothes into the temple
❌ Prohibit taking couple photos and wedding photos
❌ Prohibit running, jumping, scratching heads and posing
❌ Prohibit climbing Buddha statues and pagodas
❌ Prohibit taking pictures inside the Buddha Hall
I hope that everyone can abide by the rules and be a little cute that everyone loves!
Traveling Taste Buds
Xishuangbanna has a Prajna Temple: it has become a popular spot for taking photos.
From afar, it looks like a magnificent palace. If you come to Xishuangbanna for a visit, this unique and niche temple is worth a visit.
For young people, visiting temples to worship and make wishes, as well as taking photos and checking in, is a must-do process. Temples with red walls and glazed tiles are the majority in the country, with no need to mention their beauty, but seeing too many can inevitably lead to aesthetic fatigue. The Prajna Temple, located in Jinghong City, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, goes beyond people's understanding of ordinary temples and has become a popular check-in spot for internet celebrities due to its unique design and pure white color.
The Banruo Temple is built on the back half of Manzhen Village in Jinghong City, far away from the bustling city center, with an exceptionally quiet environment. From the foot of the mountain, you can see this white temple from afar, as if it were a holy place untouched by the world's disturbances.
Pronounced as "bo re si" in Chinese, the name of the temple is "Bodhisattva Temple" in Buddhism, which means the wisdom to see through everything. The temple has a long history, dating back to 833 AD, when the venerable Paramahansa Ananda came here to preach Buddhism and led the monks and local villagers to build the temple. Although the temple is not large, with only one main hall, it has been expanded and renovated many times by later generations to form its current scale.
Under the building, there are Toltolishis similar to those under the Central Plains ancient pagoda, with similar postures and clothing, but upon closer inspection, it can be seen that each face is different and there are no duplicates.
In the center of the main hall stands a large pagoda. Ignoring the golden Buddha statue enshrined inside, the architecture itself appears symmetrical from any angle, giving a sense of considerable stability.
Carefully observe this building, which combines the style of traditional Dai architecture with the charm of Southeast Asia. The stone carvings are exquisitely crafted, and the intricate shapes and patterns even evoke memories of the Rococo style that once flourished in Europe.
The Buddha statue dressed in golden robes appears exceptionally solemn and sacred against the backdrop of blue sky and white clouds.
The ivory white building gives people a sense of sanctity. The carvings and hollowed-out flowers on it show both magnificence and softness. It is more like a memorable palace than a temple.

I highly recommend my favorite winter travel destination: Xishuangbanna!
I'm definitely addicted to Banna. Even after returning to Chengdu for a long time, I still miss the charming scenery there: the rich ethnic customs, the lush vegetation, the magnificent temples, the starry night markets, and the handicrafts and street food. Every corner exudes irresistible charm...
…………………………
✨Tips:
About Gaozhuang: Some people say that Gaozhuang is like a scenic spot in Banna specially built for tourists. This is true. You can find everything you need here, including food, accommodation, transportation, photography, and shopping. If you are also on a special forces trip, staying in Gaozhuang is definitely the right choice, as it is close to everything.
………………
🌈Recommended Check-in Spots:
☞ Go to Jinghong Farmers' Market, the first stop in the morning, where you can find colorful fruits, fresh vegetables, and dazzling ethnic costumes. Walk through the crowd and become a part of the local life for a short time.
☞ Go to Banzhuo Temple to experience the solemnity of Theravada Buddhism and the gentleness of Southeast Asia. Standing on the top of the temple, you can overlook the entire Jinghong City. At that moment, you will feel peace and freedom in your heart.
☞ Go to Starlight Night Market to see the flashing lights and numerous stalls. The exotic dresses and dazzling handicrafts will satisfy your desire to shop!
☞ Go to Manting Park to visit the Royal Garden of the Dai King and experience the beautiful subtropical natural scenery. Take a set of Dai-style photos to enhance your travel experience.
☞ Go to the General Buddhist Temple to feel the Buddha's light. This is my favorite place in Banna. The giant Buddha is majestic and solemn, the temple is beautifully decorated, and the kittens in the temple are playful and cute.
☞ Go to the riverside night market to feel the night breeze by the Lancang River. The prices here are cheaper than those at Starlight Night Market, and most of the vendors are locals. It is a great place to buy souvenirs.
✨Tips:
1. The transportation in Banna is terrible, especially in Gaozhuang. If you are not going far, it is recommended not to rent a car. Instead, rent a small electric scooter for 28 yuan a day, which can take you to all the attractions in the city!
2. You can skip the 199 yuan photo shoot, but it is recommended to go to a photo studio for a 98 yuan makeover. You can change your look early in the morning and have a beautiful day!
3. Winter in Banna is the dry season. Even if it rains, it will clear up soon, so you don't have to worry about the weather forecast!

Xishuangbanna's most beautiful temple, with a stunning white pagoda reflection!

😍Prajna Temple was built in 833 BC. Legend has it that it enshrines two strands of Buddha's hair and four relics, making it one of the oldest famous temples in Xishuangbanna.
I was struck by the all-white architecture as soon as I arrived. 🎨 It is completely different from traditional temples, like a dreamy white castle. 🌬️ There is no hustle and bustle of red walls and green tiles, only the tranquility brought by a piece of pure white. 🕊️
Inside the Prajna Temple, there are exquisite Buddha statues. 🙏 The golden Buddha statues glisten in the sunlight, as if they have a mysterious power. The expressions of each Buddha statue are vivid, as if they are telling ancient stories. 📜
The temple's architecture 🤳 has flying eaves and corners like birds about to take off, and the pagoda forest surrounds the main pagoda in a staggered manner. 🌳 The surrounding environment is also unique, with green mountains and rivers, and birds singing happily on the branches. 🌼 Here, time seems to slow down, allowing people to forget all their worries. 🧘♀️

🏯Prajna Temple is entirely white, shining brilliantly under the sunlight, as if it walked out of a fairy tale. Its architectural style is unique, blending local ethnic characteristics and Buddhist elements, with every detail exuding delicacy and solemnity.
🌳The temple is surrounded by lush trees, peaceful and serene. When the breeze gently blows, the rustling leaves seem to be telling the stories of time.
🙏Stepping into the temple, a tranquil atmosphere instantly envelops you. The air is filled with a faint scent of incense, greatly soothing the soul. Here, you can let go of all worries and calm your mind to feel inner peace.

Prajna Pagoda historical introduction
· In the 3rd century BC, the Maurya Dynasty's third king, King Ashoka, unified most of India, becoming the largest empire in Indian history. King Ashoka was a devout Buddhist, generously supported the Sangha, and sent out nine Dharma propagation missions to various places at home and abroad. The eighth mission reached the land of gold, which is Lower Myanmar and central and southern Thailand. Later, Buddhism spread to the entire Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and other Southeast Asian countries. In the 7th century AD, Buddhism was introduced to the Dai and Sipsongpanna ethnic groups in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Province, China, and has been passed down to this day.
· In 833 AD (Dai calendar year 295), the elder Paramaha Ananda, who came to Xishuangbanna to propagate the Dharma, led a monastic group. Under the protection of King Chaopong Maralacha, together with the villagers led by Paya Zheng from Manzhen Village, Paya Baranma Shan from Manying Village, and Baranma Pong Wengzi from Manzhuangxie Village, they built the Prajna Pagoda. The core of the pagoda is 122 times deep (about 8.5 meters deep), and it is said to enshrine two strands of Buddha's hair.
· During the reign of King Chawesili Chantamalama (Dai calendar years 990-1006, AD 1628-1644), the Prajna Pagoda was rebuilt, the original base was excavated, and four Buddha relics were placed in the core of the pagoda.
· During the reign of King Dao Zhengzong (Chaowana) (Dai calendar years 1196-1226, AD 1834-1864), the Prajna Pagoda underwent its third renovation.
· During the reign of King Dao Shixun (Chaomenghanbo) (Dai calendar years 1309-1315, AD 1947-1953), the fourth renovation of the Prajna Pagoda was carried out on August 15th, 1995 (Dai calendar year 1357).

Prajna Temple | A Guide to a Lesser-Known Free Admission Spot in Xishuangbanna for Checking In
📍Prajna Temple
Located on a hill near Gasa Airport, its main attraction is the all-white Prajna Pagoda, one of the older and more famous pagodas in the Xishuangbanna region. It is the residence of the Three Jewels and a place for monks to study and propagate the Dharma.
✳️Introduction: It's not considered a tourist spot, so there are very few people. The almost purely white pagoda architecture makes for very photogenic shots, and it's becoming a new popular spot for taking pictures in Xishuangbanna‼️ The entire region only has this one white temple, which is quite unique❗️
✅It is recommended to visit when the sky is clear with blue skies and white clouds for the best photo opportunities. The place is not very large, and it takes about an hour to take photos. Avoid taking pictures under shadows as it can affect the quality of the photos.
🚗【Transportation】
The location is a bit remote, but it's very convenient to take a taxi to and from the city center, which takes about 15-20 minutes (less than ¥25 on Didi)✌🏻
✅The pure white temple and its intricate carvings are indeed spectacular, and it is considered the most beautiful temple throughout the trip❗️
⚠️Tips:
✅As a religious site, proper etiquette and customs should be observed. Do not wear revealing clothing. Women should not wear tank tops or skirts above the knee, and avoid wearing hats and sunglasses. Also, do not speak loudly.
✅The temple strictly prohibits taking wedding photos or any commercial photography.
‼️Special Reminder: Please respect the deities and do not be too frivolous. Just take a few photos for keepsake.

Xishuangbanna is an off-the-beaten-path destination
If you want to stay away from popular tourist spots and escape crowded places, then I recommend these 4⃣️ hidden gems in Xishuangbanna:
✅Prajna Temple:
The silver-white temple is stunning under the sunlight. It is located on a mountain, and although the temple is not large, its architecture is extremely exquisite and luxurious. The multi-faced golden Buddha inside the white pagoda is both mysterious and sacred.
This is a unique white temple, and it's not far from Gaozhuang, making it worth a visit‼️
✅Manduo Ancient Village
The various villages and ancient fortresses around Jinghong are the best experiences to understand the local customs of Banna.
The popular Manyuan Village and Manzhang Village are too far from Gaozhuang, and a round-trip taxi ride can cost up to a hundred or two hundred. However, the nearby Manduo Ancient Village is small and still retains its thousand-year history and appearance. An hour's stroll is enough to see the ancient springs, ancient trees, and ancient temples, all of which are very distinctive. If you get tired, you can have afternoon tea at the 'Manduo Courtyard,' one of the few restaurants in the village.
✅Dai Xiang Water City
The architecture is very beautiful, and it's a more niche spot for photos than the Starlight Night Market. There aren't many people taking pictures in Dai Xiang Water City, so you can take your time. The best photo spot is next to the stone beasts by the river, where you can capture people and buildings from the opposite side or the bridge, filled with exotic charm.
Next to Dai Xiang Water City is the barbecue restaurant (Mazha Barbecue) that survived the big fire in Banna.
✅Mengyuan Wonderland
Trekking in the tropical rainforest is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The rainforest trek takes over 3 hours, wading through rivers, walking mountain paths, observing animals and plants, swinging on swings, eating the heart of banana stems... so many unforgettable memories.

Xishuangbanna Prajna Temple Travel Guide, less crowded with beautiful scenery, better than pictures, and it's free
Taking advantage of the off-peak travel season, I stayed in Xishuangbanna for a week and discovered several niche treasure spots. I highly recommend Prajna Temple, which is less crowded, has beautiful scenery that exceeds expectations, and is free of charge. Moreover, it is only 7 kilometers away from the city center's Splashing Water Square, a 20-minute taxi ride away.
Prajna Temple was established in 833 BC and is said to enshrine 2 strands of Buddha's hair and 4 relics. It is one of the ancient famous temples in the Xishuangbanna region. Against the backdrop of the blue sky and white clouds, the temple is pure white, shimmering with silver light, sacred and pure.
⭐ Prajna, pronounced bō rě, means ultimate wisdom, the wisdom of discernment, specifically referring to the wisdom of recognizing all things and the origin of everything. My personal understanding is the great wisdom that sees through the rules and essence of the human world.
🚗 Address & Transportation
Just set your destination to 'Prajna Temple' and take a taxi there.
⏰ Opening Hours
9:00-18:30
🕰️ Visiting Time
The main structure is a pagoda, and the Buddha hall is small with only one floor. It takes about 1~2 hours to visit and check in. It is only 4 kilometers away from Gasa Airport and not far from the high-speed rail station. It is recommended to visit on the first or last day. The evening is even better, as the silver pagoda is tinged with the color of the sunset, shining with golden light, presenting a different scene.
🙏🏻 Praying and Worship
Join your hands and walk clockwise around the pagoda to eliminate karmic obstacles and pray for peace and smoothness. There are also incense and oil lamps for sale at the entrance for those who wish to pray.
📸 Photo Tips
Approach the green plant wall and use the leaves as a foreground for more artistic shots. Not just the full view, try to capture more details of the pagoda, the shimmering silver light adds to the atmosphere.
⚠️ Precautions
Pay attention to dress neatly in the temple, no tank tops, tube tops, shorts, or short skirts are allowed. If you take off your coat and expose yourself for photos inside the temple and are caught by surveillance, you will be warned by loudspeaker. I have seen several girls socially die on the spot.
Also, commercial portraits, wedding photos, and intimate couple photos are not allowed, nor is jumping around for photos.
There are not many shaded areas inside the temple, only a few public seats near the green plants, so remember to take precautions against sunburn and mosquitoes.

Prajna Temple
At four o'clock in the afternoon, Xishuangbanna is still bathed in intense sunlight. I took the hotel shuttle to visit the nearby Prajna Temple.
The history of Prajna Temple is long-standing, with its initial construction dating back to the year 833 AD. It has been renovated multiple times throughout history, with the most recent renovation taking place in 2014. The stupa's core is 122 elbows deep (approximately 8.5 meters), and it is said to enshrine two strands of Buddha's hair.
Unlike the yellow walls and green tiles of Han Chinese Buddhist temples or the splendid gold and glitter of typical Theravada Buddhist temples, Prajna Temple is known by netizens as the pure white stupa closest to the sky, with its exquisite and magnificent design. The silver stupa, set against the backdrop of blue sky and white clouds, appears solemn and sacred. It stands out among the many temples in Jinghong, making it incredibly photogenic and a popular spot for social media check-ins.
Prajna Temple is not very large, and besides the beautiful silver-white stupa, there is also a red Dai-style hall, which is quite empty inside. Prajna Temple offers free admission, and half an hour is enough to tour the entire site. Be mindful of dressing modestly.

Escape the winter and enjoy the summer: Laid-back 3-day tour in Xishuangbanna|||
|||. Escape the winter and enjoy the summer: Laid-back 3-day tour in Xishuangbanna|||
D1: Arrive in Xishuangbanna at noon—First experience with 'assembly line Dai girls' photo shoot—Dai-style barbecue
D2: Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden, Chinese Academy of Sciences—Starlight Night Market
D3: Total Buddha Temple—Manting Park—Prajna Temple—Leave Xishuangbanna in the evening
Assembly line Dai girls: There are probably hundreds of travel photography shops in Gaozhuang, I randomly chose one with a high cost-performance ratio. I really like the traditional Dai costumes, the makeup artist is patient and listens to the customers' opinions, but the photo shoot is basically an assembly line. After the photographer is done, my friends and I took photos of each other, and after comparing the photos, I still prefer the ones we took ourselves.
Chinese Academy of Sciences Botanical Garden:
Transportation: Not wanting to join a day tour group and worried about not being able to hail a car on the spot, I booked a 6-seater business car from Jinghong to Mengla in advance on the 'Banna Travel' 'Intercity Express' section on 🍊, choosing my hotel as the pick-up point and 'CAS Botanical Garden' as the drop-off point. The driver contacted us in advance and even arrived early on the day we set off. For the return trip, we took a Didi back to Gaozhuang.
Touring: We didn't buy the sightseeing car for the West Zone, which is not very big and not too hot to walk around, and it also helps to avoid the crowds. When entering the garden, get a tour map and follow the signs to avoid getting lost. There are snack stalls at the entrance of the Exotic Flower Garden, and the food tastes good. After lunch, we bought tickets for the East Zone sightseeing car at the tour bus transfer station, because the East Zone is very large and primitive, and cannot be explored on foot. The first stop is at the Green Stone Forest, which requires climbing high. After a casual stroll, we took the car to the next stop, the tropical rainforest, which has attractions like large buttress roots and strangler figs, very interesting and photogenic. If there is not enough time to explore the East Zone, you can skip the Green Stone Forest and get off directly at this stop.
Total Buddha Temple, Manting Park: Manting Park was still limiting visitors, and tickets had to be purchased on the spot. We took a taxi to the Total Buddha Temple, toured it, and then entered Manting Park. There were too many people, and those who don't like crowds felt that the experience was just average. After leaving the Total Buddha Temple, we took a taxi to Prajna Temple. We tried various apps to hail a car, and after waiting in the scorching sun for half an hour, we finally got one, and it wasn't cheap.
Prajna Temple: Prajna Temple is all silver and white with a unique design. No admission fee is required, but appropriate dress is necessary, with shorts or skirts above the knee not being okay.
Eat Eat Eat: Didn't really check in at internet-famous restaurants, just casually looked for food~
Nanwan Dai·Dai Family Sapie Rice Noodles: The first meal we had in Banna and the most memorable one of our entire Yunnan trip. Later in Kunming, we had N different kinds of rice noodles, and after comparing, we still liked Sapie the most, as it has a unique taste.
Dai Le Coffee: When in Banna, you must try the bagged Laotian iced coffee~ It tastes quite good.
Cool Thai: Affordable Thai food, we ordered mango sticky rice, Tom Yum soup, Thai fried rice, pounded chicken feet, etc., none of them were disappointing, all were devoured~
Tips:
Pay attention to sun protection, sunglasses, sunscreen, and hats are essential~
We hurriedly played for less than three days and then went to Kunming. The holiday with lots of people was not as enjoyable as we hoped. Next time, we will find a less crowded time, explore some niche places, and have a better experience.

Places without internet celebrities are fun, such as the niche attraction Prajna Temple in Xishuangbanna
The Prajna Temple in Xishuangbanna is one of the well-known Buddhist pagodas in Yunnan Province, with a history of over 1,200 years. Unlike the traditional red walls and green tiles, the pagoda here is exquisitely shaped, unique, and completely white, making it holy and sacred.
The Prajna Temple is not large, although it has only been popular in recent years, it is very suitable for taking pictures, and every shot is a masterpiece. The pagoda is built on a small hill, far away from the hustle and bustle, making it particularly peaceful and quiet, a place for the soul to rest. The attraction is free, there is no admission fee, but you cannot enter the temple, you can only take pictures outside. The local customs here are simple, under the blessing of the Buddha, the villagers are very sincere.
As a Buddhist holy place, there are certainly taboos:
Cannot enter in Dai costume
Short skirts, shorts, suspenders and other overly exposed clothes cannot enter (there are long skirts and shawls at the entrance that can be borrowed, but they are a bit thick and will definitely be hot to wear)
Cannot take commercial photos, wedding photos and intimate couple photos
No loud noise

Checking in at the Prajna Temple in Xishuangbanna
Prajna Temple, a thousand-year-old temple, is bustling with incense. Here, you can feel the sacred land in the hearts of Buddhists. The mountain is not high, but it is famous if there are immortals; the water is not deep, but it is spiritual if there are dragons. Although the temple is not about size, the incense must be prosperous. May the Buddha's light bless you, good luck, peace and health, happiness and joy.

The journey to Xishuangbanna falls from the sky to the white tower, asking the sky and the wish to shoulder the beauty
🛕 It's time to leave this beautiful place, and our last stop is the Prajna Temple, which is very close to the airport. Under the blue sky and white clouds, it is closer to the sky, and a pure white tower stands alone, giving a visual impact that shocks the heart.

—————————
🛕 Prajna Temple is one of the well-known Buddhist pagodas in Yunnan Province and one of the top ten famous temples in Xishuangbanna. Built in AD 820, the pure white tower is solemn and sacred. Quiet and out of the picture.
🌟Closer to the sky
Speaking of the address, this is the last stop of our Xishuangbanna trip, right next to the airport. Because the terrain is relatively high, and there are no other more buildings on the small hill, it is infinitely close to the sky. A white tower under the blue sky and white clouds, looking up to the sky.
🌟No dispute with the world
There is no commercial atmosphere, it is a pure white tower that is independent of the world, and compared with many lively check-in places in Xishuangbanna, it seems out of place, but it shows its personality that is not in dispute with the world, and it is awe-inspiring to look at it from a distance, it is worth longing for.
🌟Self-contained with the heart
Prajna Temple is not in the bustling downtown area, it is quiet and there are few people here, it is more suitable for self-contained with the heart, feeling the peace of the world. There are also many people who come to pray for pilgrimage. If you are just visiting, it is also a good place to calm your heart and self-contained.
🛕 Friends, before leaving Xishuangbanna, if you still have some time, you might as well go to Prajna Temple to take a look, really, you will make yourself and your heart closer, closer.

Xishuangbanna / Mansheng Temple shows the name of faith!
Xishuangbanna's Mansheng, simple villages; Xishuangbanna's Mansheng Buddhist temple, simple temples. But all this, shows the brilliance of faith to the world!
The Dai people of Xishuangbanna, all believe in Theravada Buddhism, so the people here are simple and lovely, hospitable, and can live in Xishuangbanna with a relaxed mood.
If you want to understand the local customs here, you have to go out, go to the countryside, go inside the village, not just look at the tourist attractions to understand the people here.

Recommendation for popular temples in Xishuangbanna - Prajna Temple can be played like this
If you let me tell you a popular temple or internet celebrity temple in Xishuangbanna, Prajna Temple is definitely one of them.
Although it is not in the main urban area of Xishuangbanna, and there is no convenient direct bus to get there, this does not affect its popularity. From the opening to the closing of the scenic area every day, you will find a constant stream of people. But as a budget traveler, what should you pay attention to if you want to come here?
🚉Travel strategy:
Taking a taxi is certainly the simplest way, but the most convenient and economical way to travel in Xishuangbanna is by shared bicycle. However, there is no shared bicycle parking spot at the temple. You can park at the entrance of the Ethnic Middle School 1 kilometer away and then walk over. However, this walk will be uphill and require some effort.
👍Most recommended:
You can visit the temple at any time of the day, but the best time is at sunset. Because at sunset, the light here is the softest and most beautiful. However, the temple does not seem to create a better environment for everyone, because it will close on time at 6 o'clock. If you want to watch the sunset, you can only watch the sunset in the distance from the side aisle.
📝Note tips:
1. The temple will close at 6 o'clock in the evening, don't come at the last minute, because if you come late, you will be shut out.
2. For ladies, be sure to wear pants that are longer than your knees and tops that do not expose your shoulders, otherwise you will not be able to enter.
3. Although many people will take a bottle of water to take a beautiful reflection, you will find that this shooting technique is very difficult. It's better to walk around the temple a few more times and look at some of the small details inside.
4. Many people compare it with the White Temple in Chiang Rai. I can only say that this is just a small corner of the White Temple, and it is mini in the mini.

Xishuangbanna 5 days 4 nights 2
2| Pure and sacred Prajna Temple.
|Pure and sacred Prajna Temple. 🏯On the morning of the second day after we left the Menglong Cultural Tourism Area, we drove to the small popular spot in Xishuangbanna--Prajna Temple, which is 4 kilometers away. I believe that many tourists like me have visited various temples in Xishuangbanna, some are red, some are golden, but this white temple is very rare.
🏯Prajna has always meant wisdom in Dai language, and it is a kind of wisdom that goes beyond human ideals. As early as 833 BC, the elders of India came here to promote Buddhism and built this Prajna Temple together with the local Manzhen Village and Manying Village. After a difficult history, we can see such a pure Prajna Temple white tower. It is different from the previous temples. It has changed the phenomenon of red bricks and green tiles. The whole body is a white pagoda, which is very solemn and sacred. There are several Bodhi trees around the pagoda. It is said that Buddha Sakyamuni became a Buddha under the Bodhi tree.
⛳Address, tickets and precautions: Prajna Temple is located on a small hill in the Manlong Maple Leaf Area. There is no need for tickets, but I remind everyone that you must dress appropriately when entering the park, especially girls cannot wear short skirts, skirts must be over the knee to enter.
