Jiangmen | Rainbow Village.
Jiangmen Rainbow Village is located at No. 128 Baishuidai Avenue, Jianghai District, Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province. Its original name was Hengkeng Village.
Its history can be traced back to many years ago. It was originally an ordinary village. In 2019, the local government implemented a micro-renovation project for the Hengkeng Economic Society, painting the residential buildings in vibrant colors such as yellow, orange, sky blue, and light green. The bold and artistic color scheme was like a colorful coat for the Hengkeng Economic Society. From a distance, it looks like a colorful oil painting, hence the name "Rainbow Village".
Travel Guide:
• Best time to visit: On sunny days, the colors are more vibrant and bright, making for better photos. However, it is important to avoid the midday heat in summer to prevent heatstroke. The morning or evening is a good time to visit when the light is softer.
• Transportation: Take bus No. 13 or 54 to Baishuidai Sports Park bus stop and walk to the village. If you are driving, there are parking lots nearby.
• Travel route: After entering Rainbow Village, you can walk along the colorful houses and admire the various creative graffiti and cartoon characters. Popular打卡 points include "Fengzhi Facai" (May You Be Rich), "Fengkao Bi Guo" (May You Pass All Your Exams), "Seven Colors Steps", and the Miyazaki Hayao Comic Wall. After visiting the village, if you have time, you can also visit the nearby Baishuidai Park, Busan Park, or walk on the Jianghai Cloud Road. From the Cloud Road, you can also overlook part of Rainbow Village.
• Photo tips: Wear white or light-colored clothes to create a sharp contrast with the colorful background, making you stand out. You can use different angles and props, such as posing on the painted steps or interacting with the cute graffiti walls, to add fun to your photos.
• Civilized travel: Rainbow Village is still home to many residents. Please do not make loud noises or disturb the residents' daily lives. When taking photos, do not enter the residents' private courtyards or climb the houses.
• Time management: The village is not very large, and you can basically visit it in 1-2 hours. You don't need to spend too much time, but if you want to visit nearby attractions as well, you need to set aside enough time.
• Food and beverage consumption: There are some villagers selling small toys and snacks in the village. You can also bring your own water and snacks. However, please take your trash with you. If you want to dine in a restaurant in the village, it is best to check the prices and quality of the dishes in advance.

Just got back from Jiangmen! Take my advice! Really, don't go!
I saw some bloggers advising against it online, but I still went with the filter of 'The Wild Goose Lake' in mind, and I regret it so much!
The wind was at level four that day, and it was drizzling. I only wore a thin jacket, and I was freezing. After getting off the bus, you'll hear a lot of motorcyclists shouting in Cantonese. It's only 3km to Thirty-Three Market Street, but they were charging way too much, especially since it was raining at the time. Then we decided to wait for the bus; it takes 36 minutes for 4 stops, and we waited quite a while without seeing the driver start the bus. So we went to sit next to the driver and booked a 'Handheld Reservation Bus', which costs 5 yuan per person no matter where you go, and that was relatively cost-effective.
After arriving at Thirty-Three Market, the ancient buildings inside were well preserved, and walking on the street felt like traveling back to the end of the last century. If I had a camera, the photos would have been amazing~ Qiming Li has a lot of special shops, graffiti, and festive couplets. There are a few flower walls that are quite photogenic, so if you want to take pictures, you can go there.
Life-size standees of Big Brother and Big Sister and Qiang Brother's Pig Trotter Noodles are everywhere, in every street and alley. We went to eat at a Lai Fen restaurant that was featured on CCTV; I ordered the lotus root and pork rib Lai Fen. The soup was rich, but I didn't like the peanut sauce.
Because it was so boring, we braved the strong wind and rode bicycles to Rainbow Village. I have to say, the transportation is really inconvenient! The shared bicycles have fixed positions, and there are only so many squares; you have to get to the point to return them, which is different from Guangzhou. It took a lot of pushing and shoving before we could return them.
We originally planned to go back at 8 pm, but there was nowhere else to go, and the other attractions were quite far apart. We stayed in a coffee shop for a long time and felt we really couldn't stay any longer, so we changed our tickets and took the train back to Guangzhou at around 5 pm.
In conclusion; when going out, you must check the weather, or else the experience will be greatly diminished. It's best to drive to Jiangmen, having a car will be much more convenient!
