[2024 Hanoi Stay] Travel Guide for Capella Hanoi (Updated Sep)
This is the most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed in, highly recommended
Hotel Location 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
The hotel is located in the urban area of Hanoi, just steps away from iconic buildings such as the Hanoi Opera House. Designer Bill Bensley combined the style of the entire block, inspired by the "Opera Era", to depict an artistic and dramatic setting.
Highlights
Designed by world-renowned architect Bill Bensley, the hotel is a 150-year-old former French colonial building with a super dreamy pool that combines Vietnamese elements and a dramatic atmosphere. Each of the 47 rooms has a private terrace overlooking the street or courtyard.
Rooms 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
The hotel has a total of 47 rooms and suites, each independently designed to create 47 different "opera" spaces. Each room has an elegant French terrace, perfect for taking photos and enjoying the surrounding street views.
Dining 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
The Backstage Restaurant and Diva Lounge are very impressive. The Backstage Restaurant is adorned with murals and costumes of opera artists, reminiscent of the backstage experience of an opera house. Three of the restaurants are listed in the Vietnam Michelin Guide.
Activities 💓😋
Regal Spa combines traditional Vietnamese techniques with award-winning Auriga holistic healing and champion natural products with different energies.
The indoor swimming pool incorporates Vietnamese design elements and a dramatic atmosphere, super dreamy and super beautiful 👍👍👍

Luxury Pampering at Capella Hanoi
Greeted by the lovely ladies in uniform, you'll start off with the welcome drink.
There'll be all day refreshments in the beautifully decorated Gatsby style Living Room, where you'll enjoy the daily complimentary activity (Psst, I made my own fan from scratch!) while accompanied with the delicious desserts and bespoke drinks. Of course, you can order more than one.
In the evening, there's live music performance and an appearance of mysterious diva! The staff will serve you light snacks and free flow of red wine/ white wine / champagne. They also served me sake (on the house) for their daily special!
I truly appreciate for their going beyond the extra mile. I asked them what's a nice clothing shop for ao dai, and they handwritten me their suggestions. When I mentioned I'm heading out early to Ninh Binh, the staff proactively asked if I'd like my breakfast to be served directly to my room at no extra charge :'))).
Oh! This is the first hotel that I went that serve oysters for breakfast - It was fresh, plump and juicy!
The pool was breathtaking! Just little bit careful as the wet marble floors are slippery.
Totally would love to go back again! ❤️✨️

La Grotta swimming pool, Auriga spa
The La Grotta swimming pool is like an art piece itself. Amazed by the architecture. The water is not heated but cooling. Depth at 1.3 m throughout the pool. The staff served water and snacks. During conversation with the staff, we get to know that the jacuzzi, steam and sauna room is free to use. You just have to make a booking and can enjoy exclusively. We stayed 45 mins in there. The staff prepared cucumber and apple juice after our session. Very good service.
The Gym fitness room is small. Not much static station. It is open 24 hrs but after 10 pm no one will be manning.
The Auriga spa massage and changing room looks beautiful. Didn't get to try it during this stay though. The staff gave us a tour of the spa instead.
Rating: Love to come back here.

The newly awarded Capella Hanoi is the best hotel in Vietnam. It's a must-visit!
This luxury hotel is located in the heart of Hanoi, next to Hoan Kiem Lake, and is just a 3-minute walk from the Hanoi Opera House! Open the window in the morning to enjoy the beautiful lake view, and take a stroll on 36th Street in the evening to enjoy a feast of food and shopping!
The hotel is only 1.6 km from the city center and is easily accessible by taxi or on foot. The surrounding public transportation network is well-developed, so you can go wherever you want!
The hotel was designed by renowned architect Bill Bensley, and every detail exudes luxury and art. The hotel has a fully-equipped gym and business center, as well as the tranquil Auriga Spa and the private indoor pool La Grotta, allowing you to relax your body and mind during your journey.
The hotel has two Japanese-themed restaurants, Hikari and Hanabi, which specialize in sushi and teppanyaki. Hanabi Restaurant, in particular, has been awarded a Michelin star, and the delicious Wagyu beef is unforgettable! The Hudson Rooms is also a great place to enjoy wine and oysters, and it feels like you've traveled back to New York in the 1920s, which is extremely romantic!
The hotel has 47 elegant rooms, each of which is like an exclusive opera scene. The designer cleverly incorporates opera elements into the hotel. The hotel also regularly hosts various cultural activities and art exhibitions to make your trip more colorful!

Capella Hanoi, a symphony of French elegance and a feast for the taste buds
I. Overview
A comprehensive recommendation of 5 stars!
GHA Titanium Gold
Bill Bensley's masterpiece of drama! Very generous with GHA Titanium Gold! Activities all day long, with oysters and steak available for breakfast on demand!
II. In Room
Booked the basic room type, and before check-in, a culturist contacted via email, GHA Titanium Gold was upgraded to a Capella Suite, and a bottle of red wine (checked the brand, not cheap) and cake were provided.
Very new hardware, after all, it's newly opened, the decoration is full of drama, with dramatic elements everywhere, and of course, it's very photogenic. The room is located in Hanoi's upscale shopping district, and the balcony overlooks various luxury stores.
III. Dining
Breakfast is very rich, with a diverse menu. Highlights: freshly opened oysters and steak on demand. Other local specialties such as pho and banh mi are also very well made.
Afternoon tea with drinks and a cake cart is available, with macarons, freshly mixed non-alcoholic or alcoholic beverages all being good!
IV. Facilities
There is an indoor swimming pool, which is relatively less remarkable compared to other areas of the hotel.
V. the Moments
The turndown service is very meticulous, and the bamboo dragonfly gift is also much appreciated.
On the day of check-in, there was a free event to make leather luggage tags, and I made one with a star logo.
