Cat Museum, Petra Jaya, Sarawak
Kuching Cat Museum is the world's first cat museum. It is located at the ground floor of the bizzare-looking UFO-shaped Kuching North City Hall Headquarters Building. It houses 2k different artifacts, posters and paintings of cats, ranging from a mummified Egyptian cat to strange cat headstones. A must visit when you are a cat lover in the city of cat, Kuching. Even if you are not a big fan of cats, it is interesting to see the exhibits and collections. Given that Kuching means cat, it would be nice to include some history about the city.

Cat Museum - Kuching, Malaysia
Tourists traveling in Malaysia are always impressed by the small town of Kuching. Most of the surprise is how the locals fanatically worship cats. The abundance of all kinds of monuments to these fluffy creatures goes beyond the conceivable and inconceivable boundaries of reason. And it’s not for nothing that “Kuching” in Malaysian means “city of cats”: you will see sculptures of these representatives of the animal world everywhere and everywhere. In 1993, even a special Cat Museum was opened in the city center, which currently has more than 2,000 exhibits from different cultures and eras.
A total must do in Kuching for all cat lovers!
Opening hours: daily from 9:00 to 17:00

One of the best place to have a hearty lunch is at Hartz Chicken Buffet. However parking is a bit of a problem.
The food is tasty, staff are friendly, and price very affordable. Find your way to Sarawak Plaza or Jalan Satok in Kuching, Sarawak.#urbanexplorer #foodie

What an interesting place to hang out for a day! There are many different interesting facts about cats and all the different types of cats. Some of the statutes look hilarious. One lady donated all of her cat collection to this museum. We spent about an hour here going through everything and checking out all the souvenirs you could buy. Fun place to spend an afternoon and catch a break from the heat.

A novelty for sure. If you love cats you’ll love this place. I don’t like cats and I still enjoyed myself and learnt some new things. It’s a true A-Z of all things cats different stories, countries, artwork, figurines and stuffed ones. Plus it’s practically free, RM3 ONLY per person entry but you will get a rubber souvenir bracelet or transparent cat key chain. The government building its housed in is worth visiting too. This muzeum placed at the high hill and u can feel the air blowing your hairs while having a beautiful scene and snap picture as much as u want to make it one of your memorable place.
