These three places in Changsha are perfect for taking romantic photos with reeds!
“The reeds and rushes are deeply green, and the white dew is turned into hoarfrost. The man of whom I think is somewhere about the water.” The poem "The Reeds and Rushes" has made reeds a symbol of longing for thousands of years. Although winter has arrived, the weather in Changsha is still pleasant, with warm sunshine, dry air, and blue skies. This weather is perfect for going out to enjoy the flowers. Come and find the reeds and poetry hidden in Changsha!
✅ Jiangtan Park
300 meters east of Xiaoxiang Middle Road, Yuelu District, Changsha, Hunan Province
In late November every year, Xiangjiang Jiangtan Park welcomes the season of reed flowers. The park is located on the west bank of the Xiangjiang River. From the bridge, you can see clusters of reeds growing by the water, shimmering and swaying gently, like a clear dream. The reeds here are mainly Phragmites australis, which have slender and soft flower spikes, unlike the fluffy inflorescences of common reeds. The Phragmites australis and Miscanthus are intertwined, forming a rounded outline. Although Miscanthus is not a reed, it is no less beautiful in appearance. When the breeze blows, it adds a touch of resilience and softness to the reeds.

✅ Garden Ecological Park
Luohanzhuang Village, Laodaohe Town, Kaifu District
In the Garden Ecological Park, the reeds sway gently in the wind, the plants are arranged in an orderly manner, and the flowers and plants are flourishing, exuding a strong poetic atmosphere. When the morning light shines into the park, the mist gradually dissipates, and the reeds begin to show their brilliance. The straight and swaying reed spikes are like a pen full of poetic feelings, depicting the garden scenery in early winter with extra gentleness. Wearing Hanfu, holding an oil-paper umbrella, walking slowly through the reeds taller than people, and standing by the lake to look into the distance, you will feel a poetic mood.

Just after the beginning of winter, Songya Lake National Wetland Park welcomes the unique winter scenery. The large reeds are majestic in the breeze, exuding the tranquility and peace of winter. The reeds are tall and strong, graceful and charming; the flower spikes of Phragmites australis are loose and romantic; the branches of Arundo donax are thick, and the flower spikes are upright.
