Photo Rating: ★★★★★
Chidorigafuchi's riverside walkway and embankment are filled with cherry blossom trees, and when in full bloom, the area is a light pink wonderland, with a winding river of pink cherry blossoms that's super beautiful!
🌸Meguro River Cherry Blossoms🌸
Cherry Blossom Rating: ★★★★★
Photo Rating: ★★★
During cherry blossom season, Meguro River is very crowded, and you can buy various cherry blossom-themed snacks and delicacies while strolling. However, it seems that the trees were pruned last year, so the blossoms are not as dense when photographed.
🌸Ueno Park Cherry Blossoms🌸
Cherry Blossom Rating: ★★★★
Photo Rating: ★★★
Ueno Park has been a famous cherry blossom viewing spot since the Edo period. Try to avoid weekends, as Tokyoites also love to visit here for cherry blossom viewing.
🌸Sumida Park (Tokyo Skytree Spot), Sensoji Temple Cherry Blossoms🌸
Cherry Blossom Rating: ★★★★
Photo Rating: ★★★
Sumida Park and the Sensoji Temple area, where you can capture cherry blossoms and Tokyo Skytree in the same frame, are also highly recommended classic cherry blossom spots, convenient for a combined visit. There are hundreds of cherry trees along the Sumida River, and the park is very close to Tokyo Skytree, allowing for postcard-like photos with a fresh feel of cherry blossoms and Skytree. The cherry blossoms at Sensoji Temple are also classic, and although it's very crowded during the cherry blossom season, try to take pictures from a higher angle to avoid the crowds below.
🌸Shiba Park, Zojoji Temple (Tokyo Tower Spot) Cherry Blossoms🌸
Cherry Blossom Rating: ★★★★
Photo Rating: ★★★★
Shiba Park offers a perfect photo opportunity of cherry blossoms with Tokyo Tower. A 10-minute walk from Shiba Park will take you to Zojoji Temple, where the ancient temple and cherry blossoms are also beautiful, and surprisingly not too crowded, making it easy to get good shots. It's also a great spot for portrait photography.
🌸Inokashira Park Cherry Blossoms🌸
Cherry Blossom Rating: ★★★★★
Photo Rating: ★★★★★
Inokashira Onshi Park is a cherry blossom viewing park that Tokyoites love to visit. If you find Ueno Park too crowded during the cherry blossom season, consider visiting this park. Many locals enjoy cherry blossom picnics under the trees here, and the 'hanami' atmosphere is also very pleasant.

Cherry Blossom Viewing at Chidori-gafuchi
#tokyo
As a country famous for cherry blossoms in spring, Japan boasts herself withvarious spots to view the cherry blossoms, including Tokyo. One of my favourite spot, in fact one of the best in Tokyo, is Chidori-gafuchi located nearby Kudanshita area, walking distance from the palace. The tens of thousands of cherry blossom trees line along the street and the valley is very nice and scenic to be viewed. The stretch of 2km is full of cherry blossoms, and you also can opt for a boat ride by the river, but expect a long wait due to its long queue. At night, the trees will also be illuminated with lights for night viewing as well. It is a very nice experience visiting there be it day or night to view the flowers.

Take a walk along the moat of Edo Castle
The moat to the northwest of the Imperial Palace was named "Chidorigafuchi" because of the color resembling the color of a plover bird, in Japanese — "chidori".
How to get there
The Chidorigafuchi trail around the moat starts a five-minute walk from Kudanshita and Hanzomon Railway Stations. In spring, it turns into a picturesque 700-meter tunnel of cherry blossoms.
Reflection of flowers in the moat
In late March and early April, the banks of the moat turn pink from cherry blossoms. The Sakura Chiyoda Festival is held at this time. Until the cherry blossoms, all the trees are illuminated at night. The magical sight attracts tourists and residents of Tokyo: walking through the luminous flower tunnel is unforgettable.
Boat trips under the cherry blossoms
Later, the moat is almost completely covered with petals and turns into a fantastic pink river.
Around Tidorigafuti
Nearby is the Yasukuni Jinja Temple. Here you can admire the flowering trees in spring and the bright leaves in autumn. You can also visit the National Showa Memorial Museum, Nippon Budokan Arena and the Jimbote Bookstore District.

Chidorigafuchi~ An anime cherry blossom spot you can't miss (Transportation Guide)
April 6th Cloudy Temperature 10~15°C Chidorigafuchi Cherry Blossom Viewing
🚉Transportation Guide:
Transportation is very convenient. Starting from Ikebukuro, take the Yurakucho Line towards Shin-Kiba (refer to transportation route maps 13 and 14), get off at Kojimachi Station, follow the signs (map 15), exit from Exit 1, and after leaving the station, you will see a bronze statue (map 16). Cross the road and walk straight ahead for about 9 minutes, and you will directly reach Chidorigafuchi Park.
🚉Next to the exit, there is also a bus stop (map 17), which you can choose according to your needs.
🌟If you really can't find the way, stand by the roadside and see where the cherry blossoms are blooming, then head in that direction (personally verified)
✅Must Experience:
The park is not large, but the layout of the cherry trees is very good, and they are along the riverbank. The cherry blossoms are in full bloom, very beautiful, with green grass on both sides of the river, and golden yellow rapeseed flowers blooming, which is a different style from the night cherry blossoms of Meguro and the cherry blossoms of Ueno, and it's very photogenic.
❤Recommended Reason:
Especially on the bridge, it's not a cold, hard stone railing, but decorated with a wooden fence, which is pleasing to the eye and also produces a very anime-like effect in photos.

If you only choose to view cherry blossoms once, pick this place, no hesitation
Viewing cherry blossoms is very Japanese, with too many choices of time and location, I recommend this one.
To appreciate the cherry blossoms, we can first understand and then feel, know ourselves as well as the enemy.
🌟Highlights:
Stroll along the moat of Edo Castle
The name Chidorigafuchi in the northwest of the Imperial Palace comes from its unique shape, and its wall structure resembles a short-tailed long-legged bird, which is called 'Chidori' in Japanese.
Transportation route
Take the tram and then walk a short distance to reach the moat.
Chidorigafuchi Greenway is the most scenic spot within the moat. In spring, the 700-meter-long cherry blossom path will bloom along the riverside, presenting a charming and breathtaking view. It is about a 5-minute walk from Kudanshita Station or Hanzomon Station to reach the pathway.
✅Must Experience:
The sight of cherry blossoms reflected on the surface of the moat around the Imperial Palace
From late March to early April, hundreds of tender pink cherry blossom trees will adorn the Chidorigafuchi Greenway. During this period, the Chiyoda Cherry Blossom Festival is held, and at night, you can also enjoy the cherry trees illuminated by lights. The scene is incredibly dreamy, always attracting countless Tokyoites and tourists. Enjoy a leisurely afternoon stroll through the cherry blossom tunnel
💰Average cost:
After queuing at 'Chidorigafuchi Boat Area (千鸟ヶ渊 ボート场)', you can coin-operate the ticket machine, 800 yen for 30 minutes, with a maximum of three people per boat.
🧳Preparation before departure:
Before setting off, you can use the Walker plus Sakura APP to check the status of the blossoms to avoid a wasted trip if they are not fully blooming

Romantic Boats and Cherry Blossoms at Chidorigafuchi
Chidorigafuchi, during the spring cherry blossom season in Tokyo's Chidorigafuchi, 800 Yoshino cherry trees and mountain cherry trees line the path, with weeping cherry branches reaching into the water. Petals flutter on the water's surface as the colorful cherry blossom viewing boats weave through the shimmering waves, creating a beautiful springtime scene. Along the riverbanks, towering cherry trees bloom in full splendor, and these ancient trees have thick, sturdy branches that spread across the entire river surface.
Best Viewing Time: Late March to early April, with some variation each year.
Access: The location is at Sanbancho in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo. It's a 5-minute walk from exit 2 of the Kudanshita Station, served by the Tozai Line, Hanzomon Line, and Toei Shinjuku Line. There are conspicuous signs at the exit, just follow the indicated route and you won't get lost.
Boat Rental Fees: 800 yen for half an hour, 1600 yen for an hour. You have to queue for tickets and boats, sometimes for several hours. (Tips: From Kudanshita, you can take photos of Tokyo Tower. It's extremely crowded, and if you want to be in the front row for photos, you need to line up. Otherwise, you'll have to compete with others in height and arm length, stretching as high as possible to see if you can get a clear view over the crowd in front. Boat reservations can only be made on the same day and not online; the number is limited, and it's possible to make an evening reservation during the day, but by evening there will definitely be no more available slots)

Chidorgafuchi Moat
#cherryblossom2024 The most beautiful place/garden to see Sakura in Tokyo. Starting the amazing walking from Kudenchita station, you will find Sakura trees on both side of the canal were in full bloom always near the end of March.
It even better to Sakura in the afternoon. The Sakura and its showdow in the canal produces a natural attractive picture. Some Sakura branches are inclined to touch the water. People are rowing the small boats under the trees. What a beautiful picture !
Don't rush when you are visiting Chidorgafuchi Moat, better to rent a boat for half a day with your friends or next half.
Don't miss the night time Sakura visitation. The atmosphere is totally different. Lights are everywhere along the canal and under the tree. It normal starts to light up at 7 pm and ends at 10pm.

Chidorigafuchi Boat Pier
#cherryblossom2024 Lovely lovely place ! The place is not too crowded on weekdays.Took me 30 mins to book a boat and start rowing. Also the allowed time is just 30 mins, although if you come back after 1 hour of enjoyment and photo session, just pay the extra price. I think this is worth it. Liked every single thing about it. Can’t take my eyes seeing this fantastic view!

Cherry blossom season
Chidorigafuchi is the moat of the Imperial Palace of Japan, and along the 700-meter green path by the river, many Somei Yoshino cherry trees are planted. When the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, the river surface seems to rise up a hazy pink mist.
Every year from late March to early April, the Chiyoda Cherry Blossom Festival is held here. Visitors can not only take a boat ride on the river covered with fallen petals but also enjoy the dreamy night cherry blossom scenery.
Arakurayama Sengen Park is about an hour's drive from the Tokyo metropolitan area, where you can enjoy the stunning scenery composed of Mount Fuji and cherry blossoms, and even many geographical magazines and travel guides come here for shooting.
Standing on the stone steps on the mountain, you can enjoy the breathtaking sea of cherry blossoms and the distant Mount Fuji capped with white snow.
The park is vast and has about 3,000 cherry trees planted. It is recommended to go directly to the Nishinomaru Garden in the park. Although an additional admission fee is required, you can take pictures of the castle tower and the sea of cherry blossoms complementing each other here. During the cherry blossom season, the garden extends its opening hours until 8 pm, and the pink and white sea of cherry blossoms under the night sky is even more romantic under the light.
Daigoji Temple is divided into Kami Daigo and Shimo Daigo, among which Shimo Daigo includes three attractions: Sanboin, Reihokan, and Garan.
If you want to enjoy cherry blossoms, it is recommended to go directly to Sanboin, which was also the site of the 'Daigo no Hanami' held by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, one of the 'Three Great Unifiers' of Japan. Daigoji Temple has a variety of cherry blossoms, but the most famous is the weeping cherry tree. The weeping cherry trees in the garden can grow up to the height of a 4-story building, and when they are in full bloom, they look like a pink waterfall, which is even more pleasing to the eye against the blue sky and white clouds.

【Tokyo】Chidorigafuchi Cherry Blossoms & Night Sakura: A Pink Wonderland! A Must-Do Romantic Boating Itinerary for a Day Trip.
Tokyo's Chidorigafuchi Cherry Blossoms & Chidorigafuchi Night Sakura, combined with the boating scene at Chidorigafuchi, create an overwhelmingly beautiful pink wonderland! This place is also known as Chidorigafuchi or Chidorigafuchi.
How to get to Chidorigafuchi? It's super convenient, just a five-minute walk from Kudanshita Station on the subway. The entire length is 700 meters, and it's spectacular when the cherry blossoms are in full explosive bloom.
Location: Chidorigafuchi
Chidorigafuchi Night Sakura: 18:00-22:00
Chidorigafuchi Boating Hours: 09:00-20:30 (tickets sold until 20:00), 800 yen for half an hour
Transportation: Subway 'Hanzomon Station' Exit 5, 5 minutes; 'Kudanshita Station' Exit 2, 5 minutes
How to get to Chidorigafuchi? If you want to see the most spectacular Chidorigafuchi Greenway (Sakura Path), the common modes of transportation are as follows:
Tokyo Metro Tozai Line, Hanzomon Line, Toei Shinjuku Line, 'Kudanshita Station' Exit 2, 3 minutes on foot.
Tokyo Metro Hanzomon Line, 'Hanzomon Station' Exit 5, 5 minutes on foot.
After getting off at 'Kudanshita Station', you will soon encounter Kitanomaru Park; getting off at 'Hanzomon Station' will take you to the Chidorigafuchi Greenway.
▌Chidorigafuchi Boating: A Romantic Wonderland Worth Waiting Two Hours For
However, there is a price to pay for boating in Chidorigafuchi. Looking at the queue at the boat rental, it's quite daunting – we waited for a full two hours that day...
Chidorigafuchi Boating Hours: 09:00-20:30 (tickets sold until 20:00)
Chidorigafuchi Boat Rental Prices: 800 yen for 30 minutes, 1,600 yen for an hour
Arriving at four in the afternoon, you can just catch the daytime cherry blossom scenery, and by the time you get on the boat after six, it's just in time for the Chidorigafuchi Night Sakura lighting, which seems like a good deal too.
The entire Imperial Palace moat is 700 meters long, and boating takes more time and effort than expected.
If you're only playing for half an hour, remember to keep track of time. Returning too late seems to incur a hefty fine, so don't go too far.
'Chidorigafuchi' is said to be named for the scene where cherry blossom petals fall like a thousand birds flying to the water's surface. Do you feel the same while boating?
If you're unlucky and don't catch the full bloom of Tokyo's cherry blossoms, encountering the cherry blossom blizzard also has its charm.
The fallen cherry blossom petals dye parts of the river pink, and most tourists who row to this area stay for a while. I would do the same because it's so beautiful.
▌Chidorigafuchi Night Sakura: Unrivaled Splendor
Not only is the daytime impressive, but the Chidorigafuchi Night Sakura is equally astonishing at night, especially the reflection on the water's surface.
If you can only choose 1-2 spots for a free cherry blossom viewing trip in Tokyo, you definitely can't go wrong with this place. We've already visited twice in a row!
Chidorigafuchi Night Sakura Lighting: 18:00-22:00 (March 24 to April 4, subject to change depending on the cherry blossoms)
Finally, there's a photo with Tokyo Tower (strategy)

I’m sure during Cherry Blossom season it’s amazing, but for the rest of the year, it’s a lovely waterside park with nice waterside views and plenty of benches. It only took us about a title over a half hour to explore. You can take a leisure walk along the Moat. Or you can rent boat and spend several hours to row a boat along the Moat.
Different time you can appreciate different views of the Moat. A must visit place when you are in Tokyo.

Tokyo Chidorigafuchi Park cherry blossoms 🌸
It's the season to enjoy cherry blossoms once a year~
I have always had a preference for the cherry blossoms in Qianniaoyuan Park. Being immersed in it feels like a fairyland. When the strong wind blows, it rolls up layers of pink snow, making it splendid and colorful.
Met some internet-famous girls and boys shooting videos here, they look really good!
My friend's hat almost got blown away by the strong wind, luckily a Japanese entrance cabinet was quick enough to catch it haha.
Every year, there is always a cherry blossom garden that I really want to make time for.
The blooming period is not very certain, it bloomed late last year, friends who are coming must prepare well.
