Trip Moments Recommendations
#Chimelong Safari Park Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Top 10 places to take your kids in Guangzhou (Outdoor Edition)
Amusement Park:
📍Chimelong Safari Park: Undoubtedly the top zoo in Asia, with a wide variety of animals that are very active. Pandas, koalas, elephants, giraffes are all incredibly cute. There are also float parades, small trains, cable cars... you can't finish playing in one day.
📍Chimelong Bird Park: A treasure park of the Chimelong series that is easily overlooked. The tickets are not expensive, the size is moderate, the interaction is strong, suitable for small kids. You can feed flamingos, hippos, pelicans... and there are various wonderful bird performances.
Park:
📍Guangzhou Children's Park: A collection of amusement facilities, free of charge. Ocean Park, Happy Valley, Sensory Park, Beach Park, Zip Line Park... The macaron color series is also very photogenic.
📍South China Botanical Garden: A national botanical kingdom, where you can watch various rare tropical plants, with a strong natural atmosphere. You can see flowers in spring, cool off in summer, and enjoy red leaves in autumn and winter. You can take your kids to pitch tents, a recommended place for natural education.
📍Ersha Island: A must-visit landmark in Guangzhou, which is reflected with the Canton Tower, Haixinsha, and Haixin Bridge. It includes multiple parks such as Chuanqi Park and Sports Park, large lawns, gardens, forests, non-powered amusement parks... the ceiling of urban camping.
📍Pearl River Park: A delicate oasis in the CBD, with a different view at every step, reflecting the grandeur of Zhujiang New Town everywhere. There are dense and rich tropical plants, outdoor playgrounds, bookstores, greenhouse flower rooms, and so on.
📍Yuexiu Park: A must-visit park in the old city area, where the Guangzhou Wuyang Sculpture is located, and there are many historical relics in the park. There are also Jin Yin amusement park, non-powered expansion park and other children's play areas, which are very worth taking kids to.
Folk Customs:
📍Lingnan Impression Park: Lingnan folk culture ancient town, unexpectedly a hidden king of taking kids for a walk. Not only are there multiple amusement areas, but also Lingnan folk performances, intangible cultural heritage arts and crafts, cute pet feeding... It is a good place to broaden kids' horizons and educate them in an entertaining way.
Shopping Mall:📍Sihai City: A commercial complex that combines aesthetic design and fun. Dinosaur Park, rooftop playground, equestrian field, parent-child restaurant... Most of them are outdoors, I would like to call it the Hermes in the shopping malls for taking kids in Guangzhou.
Farm:📍Yifang Happy Field: Located in the city, the transportation is very convenient. Amusement park, cute pet feeding, fruit and vegetable picking... The farm has all the elements it should have, if you have to choose a farm experience, choose it.
A safari journey on wheels
#newyearadventure
We are really pleased to be here, and it's encouraging to see how the animals are cared for and maintained.
It's a fantastic safari adventure experience.
Visit an animal kingdom kindergarten to get up close and personal with the infant animals and see the cutest pandas in action.
A safari journey on wheels is also a lot of fun and interesting!
Take note, it is more affordable to purchase a ticket in advance through Trip.com than it is at the gate.
For a view, you might also ride a cable car.

Chimelong Safari Park in Guangzhou
Chimelong Safari Park is located at south area of Guangzhou city. You can go there by subway (Hanxi Changlong) and then take a didi, or go directly with didi from your location in the city.
Safari on the wheels is the first thing you should try because animals will walk freely around your car. There is also gondola which connects three areas of Safari Park. So many animals to see and you can feed giraffes too. There are small shops around where you can buy souvenirs, snacks, drinks or some food. If you are lucky you will see some African dances which are really good.

The Chimelong Safari Park near Guangzhou, is truly a great place to spend the day with the kids. Also known as the Xiangjiang Safari Park, it contains an amazing selection of beautiful and exotic animals including the world's largest collection of white tigers, a first-class Giant Panda center, and many protected species like the Giant Salamander. But undoubtedly the main attraction of Chimelong is currently the set of panda triplets born in the park in mid-2014. These are the only live panda triplets in existence in the world today, a very particular and rare event since chances of survival of panda triplets is only 1%.

Felt like we traveled to Africa for a while
this safari park is well maintained. animals look like they’ve been well taken care of and the area is huge. Safari on wheels was the highlight for sure. keep 4-6 hours to see everything around.
Impressive Safari Park
Suggested time to spend - 3 hours
Attractions - It is one of the largest safari in China and has a huge population of wild animals. The park itself is extremely massive.
Animals to see: white tigers, Giant Panda, Giant Salamander. The main attraction is the set of triplet pandas that were born here in 2014.
The park is divided into different theme/zones like Giant Panda centre, African Savannah. There is a shuttle buggy bringing you to all these attraction. I do see cars on the way in the safari too. It seems this is part of the private tour.
If you want to have the bird-eye view of the park, do take the cable car so that you can have a glimpse of the natural habitat of the park.

My Tips for visiting Chimelong Safari Park
After visiting Chimelong Safari park, here’s my top tips to get the most of your day ☀️
Going on the weekend? ⏰Go early and make the most of the day. Not just to avoid the queues but also many of the free talks and feeding shows mainly happen between 10-2pm
⬆️ Enter from the North Entrance (also don’t get confused for the water park or theme park!), from here you will have the best route (in my opinion!) to start your day with the train around the safari.
🚂 The train takes 30-40minutes, try to sit at the middle to back carriages to get better views for photos and closer to the animals.
Sit on the right side of the train to see more 😉 the road will have various animals roaming around from 🦒 and some other animals.
After getting off the train, it’s time explore on foot.
🚡We made our next destination the cable car starting at Triplets Park station, this is closer to south station but along the way to see various animals and shows.
NOTE: when you take the cable car, take the round trip line and if you’re lucky get one with a glass bottom!
Other key attractions are:
🙉 Monkeys - We could have spent the whole
day in this area as all the monkeys were playing games and having fun!
🐼 Panda enclosure - we were too late (because we really did spend too much time in the monkeys!) but we managed to see them in their sleeping area but feels like we missed out!
🦒 Giraffe - You can feed the giraffes for about 20-30rmb, we opted to watch others feeding them the giraffes still came to us to stick their tongues out.
🦩 Flamingos - although somewhat the smelliest part 😂 there were hundreds of pink, white birds
As well as those there were plenty of others such as meerkats, seals, elephants etc!
Remember to bring plenty of water and snacks to keep you going round the park (or be prepared to pay the price for food at the park!)
So much to enjoy and see! 😊

It's a zoo type a day!
This is a paid attraction and is huge, spent almost the entire day and still didn't get to see all of it. They have performances at different time intervals so be sure to keep an eye out for that. You can collect a map on your way in and use it to mark out your route, which is very handy or you can just walk around and enjoy the excitement of not knowing what's around the corner. As with all zoos, you will find food, snacks and drinks available so no need to worry or just bring your own. The animals are really stunning, particularly the snakes 😆, they are a must see. You will never be bored, so many things to see. This is a definite recommendation. #unforgettableexperiences
Large zoo in a resort complex featuring many exotic animals such as tiger, koala, monkey and so many more plus a safari train & water park. The place was so huge so be careful not lost..
Chimelong Safari Park. Probably, this is the most famous place in Guangzhou. There is no need to introduce this place. I just leave a few brief notes. This is the biggest zoo I have ever seen before, taking into account all countries I have visited. The territory is, decided for different locations according species kept there and climate zones. Everywhere during the day different shows are performed, such as feeding tigers, dinosaurs battle, etc. There is a long ropeway giving opportunity to across the park area and observe it and its inhabitants from the above. Opportunity to take a safary and watch wild Savannah animals in nature like environment is awesome, taking into account the long time ride. Colorful birds are different chapter. I was impressed and shocked! That was perfect time I have spent in there.
Please, come very early, otherwise you have no chance to experience everything what this park offering for visitors.

Had a wonderful time at the Chimelong Safari Park in Guangzhou 😎 #Givethanks to the animals while they were on their best behavior so I could shoot some good photos of them 😁
Guangzhou, Chimelong Safari Park
I am super happy whenever I see any kind of animal. Chimelong isn't copyrighted; if it looked like Disney it would be completely different. But still, it’s pretty great. All the animals seem to be in good condition, they are all super cute. All the pandas are sleeping. The giraffes? In order to eat they were drooling almost all over my head. Koala babies - only 2 of them were awake and eating. I missed the viewing time for my favorite meerkats, what a shame. No wonder Chimelong is one of the most popular family destinations around. Kids are all really happy and you get to learn a lot about various animals. It’s an educational and joyful experience in one, plus you can teach kids how to be kind and protect animals, which is the most important thing about Chimelong.
Older Long in 2012 the new upgrade Safari bus zone, to create the Australian Forest, the Americas jungle, desert Central Asia, South Asia, rainforests, mountain five European New! Not abroad, travel easily across five continents, all over the world to see the rare animals. Kangaroos run in Australia saw the forest, the next moment rainforests of South America came to see llamas stroll. There are flocks of animals running in the South African plateau, hill town lions sitting, zebra, wildebeest giraffe walking on the open grasslands of East Africa, the wild natural beauty of a world-class show exhaustive, animal pristine panoramic view here! Such a spectacular experience will make you amazing.Tips: Hours: Monday to Friday: 09: 30-18: 00 car Opening hours: 09: 30-16: 00 train Opening hours: 09: 30-16: 30 Lifts Open Hours: 10: 30-17: 30 Sat-Sun: 09: 30-18: 30 car opening hours: 09: 30-16: 30 train opening hours: 09: 30-17: 00 lifts open Hours: 10: 30-18: 00 specific time in order to park on-site announcement shall prevail. Travel vehicles with joy, but for the world as self-driving tourists, tickets can be purchased there by car. You can drive his car through the area by car. There is a one-way car zone; about one hour's drive, pressing friends can slowly open to see the favorite animal can also stop and take pictures. Especially a reminder, a little tortuous terrain inside the area by car, self-driving friends need to have better driving skills, if a novice, then pays attention to the surrounding animal friends. In the district can not get off the car, because the animals are all free to dissipate into the atmosphere of the area, so visitors must stay in the car. Regard to animal health, animal feeding scenic spots is not allowed. Ready to travel to the park to avoid unauthorized visitors to feed the animals, the approach is to refuse to carry food. Garden to eat is also very convenient, close to the main exhibition area has a dining spot. Recommended inside such a meal, we have a giant chicken, chunks of pork ribs, smoked dishes, and there is also a vegetarian, definitely enough to eat. There are distinctive crocodile soup, use of materials than the foot, not tasted crocodile meat can try. Because ecological primitive, garden inevitably is some mosquitoes, insects can prepare some cream or itching of the best in the long-long car into the park where you can play with the animals at close range. Here the first to introduce the beast peer self-driving wildlife project, the park opened in viewing range covers an area of nearly 1 million square meters area by car. Car area earns built, carved around the water, forming a unique natural landscape.
I’ve always been interested in animals since I was a kid, in particular giraffes. 3 years ago, I flew to see the Kenyan Masai Mara Prairie in order to see giraffes and this time I came to Chimelong Safari instead. I was really looking forward to seeing the giraffes, but as I continued to explore, I saw a lot more here than expected. Whether it’s the precious pandas, white tigers, Koalas from Australia of flocks of flamingos, or the swan lake filled with black swans, I really got into it all. If the Safari does not close at night I can be here all day. r The giraffe area is my favorite zone in the entire Safari. I’ve always loved giraffes since I was a kid. If you want to be in close contact with them, you can purchase mulberry leaves. They’ll come right up to you and take huge bits of the leaves. They are super cute, almost just as cute as the pandas. Giraffes in the self-driving zone - when you are driving around in your car, they’ll walk right next to you.

⑦ After getting off the train, you will be at the entrance of Qinglong Mountain. Follow the mountain path of Qinglong Mountain to visit the Jurassic forest on the mountain, monkeys, parrots, gorillas, birds, snakes, etc.

3⃣️For walking, it's recommended to enter through the North Gate and take the mini train; if driving, you can enter through the South Gate, plus 300r/car besides the ticket price.
4⃣️If you're in 'extreme walking mode', be sure to wear comfortable sports shoes 👟. If you're bringing children, you can bring a stroller less than 50cm wide, and the park also offers rental services.
5⃣️Download the 'Chimelong Travel App' in advance to check routes, locations, and queue times.

Don't miss the exciting punch-in journey at Chimelong Safari Park, these must-visit attractions
I remember when I was a child, the first time I came here, it was called Panyu Xiangjiang Zoo. After many years, I came to punch in again, and I am still childlike, finding that Chimelong Safari Park has changed so much! Today, let's talk about those projects that you must go to punch in!
🚡 Aerial Cable Car
Enter the park from the south gate, the cable car station is about 500 meters away from the entrance. There are two options: the park circuit line and the Swan Lake line. It is recommended to take the park circuit line back and forth without repeating the route, so you can see different scenery and animals🦒.
🐼 Panda Paradise
After getting off the park circuit line cable car, Panda Paradise is not far away. Here you can punch in the panda stars of the zoo - the panda triplets Mengmeng, Shuaishuai, and Kuku. When I went there, the second child Shuaishuai was eating bamboo🎋, which was a very healing scene.
🎬4D Cinema
From 10:00 to 18:30, there is a show every half hour. A little spoiler, I watched a story about three pandas🐼 looking for their father. The plot is warm and touching, and the 4D effect has little surprises.
🐯 White Tiger Diving
From 12:30 to 16:30, there is a show every half hour. There are quite a lot of viewers, so it is recommended to go earlier to find a suitable position.
🚂 Special Train
The boarding point of the small train is close to the north gate. Sitting on the small train, you can experience traveling through five continents and greet flamingos🦩, giraffes🦒, zebras🦓, and elephants🐘 up close.
🐨 Koala Garden
There are so many koalas here, not only can you see the lazy, socially awkward koalas, but also the foodie koalas who are working hard to eat and the cute koalas that are adorably cute🐨.
Strategy Guide! One-Day Tour of Chimelong Safari Park + Panda Hotel
This Tuesday, my sister's family of three plus me and Lao Wu had a blast at Chimelong Safari Park + Panda Hotel, a day filled with childlike wonder~ Here are some details and tips for you~
.
🔸Daily Itinerary:
① Arrive at the Panda Hotel at 9:00 AM to collect the room card for the evening, store luggage, and register for free parking at the hotel→② Around 10:00 AM, take the hotel's free shuttle bus to the south gate of Chimelong Safari Park→③ Start touring the park from the south gate→④ Leave the park around 5:30 PM, take the free shuttle bus back to the hotel→⑤ Place luggage in the hotel room→⑥ Enjoy the hotel buffet, and the day is over
.
🔸Daily Expenses
My sister's family of three bought the Panda Hotel package for 1500+, which included one night in a handsome room, dinner for 2 adults and 1 child, and unlimited access to the safari park, amusement world, and bird park; Lao Wu and I just bought the safari park tickets (purchased the day before, 290/person) + Panda Hotel buffet dinner (purchased the day before, 298/person); no other expenses, as we brought our own food to the safari park that day.
.
🔸Memorable Attractions at Chimelong Safari Park (other areas and interactions are also hin good)
① Train tour around the park; it's amazing to have rare animals from all over the world right beside you as you drive on the road!! A major highlight! 🐅🐆🦛🐘🦓🐫🦒🦘 All these animals are there! I must say: The giraffe area is so beautiful! You can drive yourself, and the advantage of self-driving is that you can stop anytime, and animals come right up to your window! The downside is worrying about accidentally hitting an animal.
②4D cinema; I've seen several 4D movies, including at Disney, but Chimelong's has 2 highlights: one is that it has a rich storyline, like an animated film, unlike the simple adventures I've seen elsewhere; the other is that the seats have massage heads, and the bottom can move , with water spraying directly from the front seat . The glasses effect is also good.
③Tiger diving; similar to a circus 🎪 act, but very 🔥! You can see the tiger coming at you!
④Viewing giant pandas; the IP feeling is strong, each giant panda has a name! Watching the round and cuddly national treasures 🐼 munching on bamboo and bamboo leaves is so comfortable~ Healing for the soul!
⑤Parade; large amusement parks and zoos all have parades, and when the music plays and the parade starts, it creates a great atmosphere! My nephew was chosen to participate and interact, which is also a little exercise for the kids 🥰!
⑥Cable car; the cable car depends on the weather and route, you need good weather and to take the full route! The full route allows you to see the area covered by the train, and the view from top to bottom is a novel perspective 😘!
⑦IP photo ops; when you encounter staff dressed as IP characters, let the kids interact and take photos, it's very memorable!
⑧Swan Lake; so beautiful! You can also see what baby swans look like! It answers why the 'ugly duckling turning into a white swan' is not discovered!
.
🔸Panda Hotel
From the outside, it looks like a castle 🏰! Not just for kids, I love it too!! Inside, it's more like a commercial street, even more so than the hotels in Sanya ; the room facilities don't meet the standard of a thousand yuan hotel, but it's all about the IP feeling and the package. The buffet is also okay, just that the area is too large, and it's a bit tiring to get things . It's worth a visit if bundled with the zoo, but not very cost-effective if visiting separately~
Traveling during off-peak times is so great, you must visit Chimelong when you come to Guangzhou
After the Spring Festival, we arranged a trip to Chimelong in Guangzhou during the off-peak period. There were fewer people, no need to queue, and we saved quite a bit on flight and hotel package deals. We had a wonderful three days and two nights...
👉Day1: We booked the new 'Exploration Fun Family Room' at the Chimelong Hotel! It has one 2-meter-wide king bed and two 1.2-meter-wide single beds, with plenty of space! It's themed around gazelles, and the kids absolutely love it~ The hotel package includes unlimited park entry, so you can rest anytime when you're tired, highly recommended for families with children👍 The hotel's White Tiger buffet restaurant allows you to dine while watching white tigers and flamingos outside the window, a truly unique experience! The window-side dining spots are also super sought after~
The 'Chimelong International Circus' in Guangzhou is a must-see! We chose VIP seats, and the mid-show parade passes right by here, making for a very interactive experience! Magic fire wheels, Hobbit landings, global racing cars! Screams non-stop, surprises galore!
👉Day2: 'Chimelong Safari Park' in Guangzhou, no turning back: Enter through the North Gate and take the train—Qinglong Mountain—Rainforest Fairyland—Tiger Mountain—Giraffe Square—Koala Garden—Panda Paradise—Asian Elephants—African Forest—Flamingo Island—Sky Cable Car—Exit through the South Gate
✔️Train: Off-peak visits to Chimelong allow for lots of great unobstructed photos, the whole trip takes 30 minutes, and the guide sits in the last row, so it's recommended to sit in the back. The self-drive and train routes are the same, you can stop and enjoy the animals at your leisure, for a better experience~
✔️Dragon Palace: Must see the 'Komodo dragon' during the Year of the Dragon, for good luck in the dragon year
✔️Giraffe Square: The train engine on the left side of the square is the best spot for photographers, and you can also experience the joy of feeding giraffes yourself
✔️Koala Garden: See the family of 68 koalas from eight generations
✔️Panda Paradise: See the panda triplets 'Cute, Cool, Handsome', Chimelong has more than a dozen giant pandas, no time limit, no queue, truly achieving the freedom of 'panda cuddling'
✔️360° fully transparent cable car (unlimited rides): No need to queue when there are fewer people, choose the round-the-park line for an overhead view of the animal habitats
👉Day3: 'Chimelong Bird Park' in Guangzhou, we signed the kids up for the flamingo and scarlet ibis junior conservationist program, after attending a science class and DIY-ing the food, we got to feed the flamingos🦩and scarlet ibis up close
At 11:30 am, the 'Hundred Birds Flying Song' performance takes place, and from the left side of the stage, you can see the birds as they enter. Walk further, and you can take a photo with the toucan, we also fed the hippos up close, and in the animal kindergarten, we fed piglets, lambs, and chicks🐥
Take a boat to feed the pelicans and swans🦢 There are lots of pelicans, and they followed our boat the whole way, which was really fun🤣 The bird park has a large children's non-powered play area, where you can let off some steam! The whole park is compact and easy to navigate, it's just too much fun!
Three days and two nights of off-peak travel is really great, hurry up and bring the kids to play~
Best experience ever!
I felt like a child again. we surprise our kids they wanted to see animals at the mini zoo at one of the malls. We decided to take them to Chimelong Safari park in Guangzhou.
We wanted to book online for the day,but that option wasn't available. in case you wondered you can go to the park and get your tickets there aswell.
we walk alot but it didn't felt much I guess its because it was fun.

A 4-day fun-filled trip with kids in Guangzhou, covering all bases from food to entertainment!
After taking the kids to Guangzhou for a 4-day trip during the winter break, we had a blast without getting too tired!
🚉 Travel Tips:
Took the high-speed train to Guangzhou South and arrived at 1 pm, then took a taxi straight to the hotel. We chose the Atour Hotel near the South Station. Honestly, the location wasn't very convenient since it was a bit far from the subway station. We had to take taxis, but the commercial area downstairs was convenient for dining.
🗓 Itinerary:
Day 1: After dropping off our luggage, we headed straight to the Museum of the Nanyue King's Tomb, a heavyweight museum in Guangzhou that bears witness to over 2200 years of the city's history. It's a must-visit spot. My child is quite young and not very interested in history . However, seeing the jade burial suit and a collection of jade artifacts like jewelry, belts, and pillows was still quite impressive.
After the museum, we went to Beijing Road Pedestrian Street to get a taste of Guangzhou's prosperity and stopped by the popular Tianfang Pavilion dessert shop. We arrived at 4 pm and had to queue, but the desserts were good, especially the mango pomelo sago and baked pudding . That's where our day ended as the kid was getting tired, but if you still have energy, you can check out the Dafo Temple for its beautiful night view .
✅ Must Experience:
Day 2: A visit to Chimelong Safari Park is a must when in Guangzhou. The official website said it opens at 9:30 am, so we thought arriving at 8:30 am to queue would be fine. However, I underestimated everyone's enthusiasm. By 8:30 am, the north gate of the zoo was already packed with people. Thankfully, they opened on time at 9:30 am. Realizing the queue was moving in the wrong direction, we decisively bought a fast-track entrance at the park store and started our journey of splurging. It cost 280 yuan per person, and if you stay at a Chimelong hotel, you can get a 12% discount.
🌟 Highlights:
The fast-track pass includes 5 attractions: the mini train, aerial cable car with 3 routes, and the 4D cinema. It turned out to be a good experience.
Indeed, getting the fast-track pass was wise. The queue for the mini train inside the park was an hour long, but with the fast-track, it only took 5 minutes without queuing. Since the aerial cable car experience included 3 routes on the fast-track, we had to make the most of it and rode the mini train back to Qinglong Mountain. After that, we took the cable car directly to Panda Paradise. Once there, we returned and walked to Swan Lake, near Qinglong Mountain, and started our walking tour. Following the guide's direction, we toured clockwise and saw animals in Qinglong Mountain, including dinosaurs, monkeys, snakes, and more. This tour took at least an hour because Qinglong Mountain is quite large, and there's only one path to the end without any exits for a quick departure.
After leaving Qinglong Mountain, we saw the Mekong Dragon, which is said to be a large dinosaur bred only by Chimelong, though it looks similar to a large lizard. Opposite the Mekong Dragon is the White Tiger Garden, where you can watch white tigers dive, which is quite thrilling. Other attractions worth visiting include the grand parade, 4D cinema, and the Panda Triplets Pavilion.
✅ Must Experience:
Day 3: We had tickets for the 11 am circus, so we went straight there. We casually bought first-class seats, which meant no queuing for seats, but I regretted it a bit because the randomly assigned seats weren't in the front row, which was a bit far from the interactive area. It would have been better to buy interactive seats, as there seemed to be a lot of interaction from those seats, and the sense of participation was good.
After the circus, we took a Didi to the Bird Park, an underrated part of Chimelong that's really fun and also a money sink. You can feed animals that you can only observe from a distance in other zoos, like flamingos, red-crowned cranes, hippos, pelicans, macaws, and mini pigs. The kids had a great time, and the bird show at 3:30 pm is worth watching. Remember to arrive early to get a seat; we got there half an hour early and had to stand because there were no seats left. It's best not to miss any of the performances; they're all quite interesting.
❤ Recommended Reason:
Day 4: In the morning, we visited the Guangdong Museum and saw the Nanhai No. 1 shipwreck and the gold belts unearthed from it. We also saw the Baiqie chicken and bought a stamp book for the kids to collect stamps, which they enjoyed. Outside the museum, you can get a good view of the Canton Tower without going inside.
Due to time constraints, we didn't go on the famous Ferris wheel at the Canton Tower, but we did take the tram, known as the Flower Sea Avenue. The timing probably wasn't right, as the scenery was average, but seeing the blooming yellow tabebuia trees along the way was quite nice. After that, we took the high-speed train back home.
