Origins of tea....🍵
Obviously, Pu'er is known for its famous tea and the tea-growing areas around it. Therefore, any visit to the city wouldn't be complete without a stop here at the Pu'er Tea Museum. We wanted to learn more about this important commodity, so this museum provided us with the answers. We learned about the various local ethnic groups and their relationships with tea, the history of the local area and the Tea Horse Road and also about the process of making the teas. We went here in the morning and admission was free. The staff were also very nice and polite. Getting here is easy by taxi or private car, although it was basically next to our hotel anyway. It's definitely best to come here and learn about the history before visiting a plantation or the Tea Horse Road, as it definitely adds a perspective on everything and enbables you to better understand everything. A good little gem to visit! 🍵🍵😋

Pu'er - although it was a brief visit, I found myself lingering and forgetting to return
The Land of Colorful Clouds always captivates the heart, and on a whim, I decided to visit Pu'er for three days over the May Day holiday. The Tea Expo Garden was very tranquil, with lush tea trees covering the hills, and the leisurely pace of life there was enchanting. Sipping a cup of Pu'er tea, half a day passed in the blink of an eye. At the lakeside of Meizi Lake, I stumbled upon a holiday market bustling with activity. I'm fond of this little town

Pu'er Tea Workshop
Pu'er Tea Expo Garden Tea Delicacies Tea Mountain the Culture of the City The history of Pu'er tea is very ancient. Legend has it that more than three thousand years ago, during the time of King Wu's campaign against Zhou, the Pu people, who were the tea-growing ancestors in Yunnan, had already offered tea to King Wu, although the name 'Pu'er tea' did not exist at that time. The transitional ancient tea trees of Bangwei are the living fossils left by the ancient Pu people who cultivated and domesticated tea trees. Pu'er tea emphasizes brewing techniques and the art of tasting. It can be drunk clear or blended. The tea soup of Pu'er tea is orange-yellow and thick, with a high, sharp, and lasting aroma, a unique fragrance, and a rich and mellow taste, enduring many infusions. Pu'er tea was once classified as a dark tea but is now categorized as a post-fermented tea in the re-processed category. The Pu'er tea workshop mentioned in this note is a scenic spot within the Chinese Pu'er Tea Expo Garden, which is the place for tea picking and making. Here, you can carry a basket on your back to experience the charm of the tea mountains, admire or experience tea making. Tea making requires processes such as picking, withering, fixing, rolling, and drying. You can personally experience the process of tea picking and making, and even make your own tea cake, inscribing your wishes into it, placing it inside the tea cake, and choosing a photo as the cover of the tea cake. It can be kept as a souvenir or brewed for personal enjoyment. Not far from the Pu'er tea workshop is a tea restaurant, where you can not only drink tea but also eat meals made with fresh tea leaves. The tea meals here are made with fresh tea leaves as ingredients, creating various flavors of dishes. Immersed in the beautiful ecological scenery of the area, smelling the fragrance of Pu'er tea, tasting dishes fried with tender tea leaves, you can enjoy a journey close to nature.

Puer Tea Deer Valley
Deer Valley is the lowest point of interest in the China Puer Tea Expo Garden, and it is also a place specially arranged for children. There are more than 30 sika deer raised here, and the park also has a deer house area and a feeding free-range area, where children can interact closely with fawns. The sika deer is a mammal of the deer family in the order Artiodactyla, also known as the spotted deer. Its fur is chestnut red in summer with many white spots resembling plum blossoms, thin fur without fluff. In winter, the fur turns smoky brown, the white spots are not significant, with fluff, thick fur, and the neck has a mane. Males grow antlers from the second year, with one more tine added each year, stopping at four tines after the age of five. They have large erect ears, a thin and long neck, slender limbs, and a brown metatarsal gland below the ankle joint on the outside of the hind limbs. Named after the plum blossom-like white spots present in summer, sika deer have an average lifespan of about 20 years. Sika deer are distributed along the Pacific coast of Japan and Russia, in the Lesser Khingan Mountains and Changbai Mountain area of Northeast China, as well as mountainous areas in East and South China. Sika deer are gregarious herbivores that feed on legumes, composites, birch, elm, and other grasses and shrubs' bark and tender leaves.

Encounter a beautiful life, meet at the Tea Expo Garden
Sunshine is just right, the breeze is not dry, I embarked on a journey to the China Pu'er Tea Expo Garden. Pu'er, a city famous for its tea, has long planted the seed of exploring tea culture in my heart.
Departing from the downtown area of Pu'er, it takes less than half an hour by car to reach the Pu'er Tea Expo Garden located on Yingpan Mountain. From a distance, the green mountains are like ink, and the tea gardens are layered with greenery, resembling a vivid landscape painting. Stepping into the garden, it feels like entering a world of tea that gathers the spirit of heaven and earth and the essence of the sun and moon.
Walking among the tea gardens, the greenery is lush, and the tea trees are neatly arranged, like well-trained soldiers. Every leaf is full of vitality, as if telling the thousand-year story of Pu'er tea. Gently touching, the leaves are soft and elastic, seemingly conveying the gentleness and strength of nature.
Entering the Pu'er Tea Museum is like traveling through a tunnel of time, back to the long history of Pu'er tea. The museum displays a variety of tea sets, tea leaves, and historical relics of tea culture, each filled with the vicissitudes of history and the thickness of culture. Listening to the narrator's vivid storytelling, I seem to see the busy figures of the caravan on the ancient Tea Horse Road and hear the laughter of the tea farmers.
In the garden, you can also enjoy the song and dance performances of various ethnic groups, feeling the charm of Pu'er's diverse culture. The vigor of the Wa people, the gentleness of the Dai people, the originality of the Lahu people, each song and dance intoxicates one, as if in a colorful ethnic cultural panorama.
Standing on the Wencha Building, overlooking the entire tea garden, clouds and mist are swirling, and the fragrance of tea is overflowing. At this moment, I feel as if I am one with nature, feeling the unique fragrance of Pu'er tea and the harmonious beauty between heaven and earth.
This trip, I not only tasted the richness and fragrance of Pu'er tea but also deeply felt the profoundness of Pu'er tea culture. The China Pu'er Tea Expo Garden is not only a great place to enjoy and taste tea but also an excellent place to experience tea culture and appreciate the beauty of nature. Here, I found the tranquility and solace of my soul, and also gained endless respect and love for tea culture.

picking tea in the mountains of puer
Puer tea is the signature tea of Yunnan Province. If you love tasting this tea with fullness of flavor, it is suggested to visit the China Puer Tea Exhibition Garden in Yunnan Province.
Located at the Yingpan Mountains, 34km (21mi) from Cuiyun District of Puer City, and near Puer National Park, the China Puer Tea Exhibition Garden covers an area of 24,167mu (1,611ha). It is an ideal place for growing Puer Tea because of the pleasant climate and great environment. There you can enjoy tea-leaves picking, processing, and exquisite drinking art, as well as buying some to bring home.
Upon entering the scenic area, the terraced green ribbon-like route extents and brings you to the picturesque tea garden. Walking along the zigzag road to the top point of the garden – Tea Enquiry Tower, a three layered building with classical decorations, where you can have a good bird’s eye view of the tea paradise. Then you will see the Puer Tea Museum, which houses many pictures and artifacts related to Puer Tea culture. Besides, there is a village in the garden, composed of typical dwelling houses of five minority groups, such as the Dai, Wa, Yi, Lahu and Hani, where you can appreciate their unique tea culture. Listening to the special ethnic songs and dancing with them will bring you great enjoyment. It would be joyful to have fun at a campfire party at night. Perhaps you will be fortunate to witness the local traditional marriage custom. Next to the village is Jiahuifang, which holds many classical-style buildings. You can buy tea products and relevant wares there.
