We arrived at 6 PM, caught the beautiful sunset, and saw the town lights come on as it got darker. However, it's not ideal for photos at night, so I recommend visiting at dusk to capture the transition from day to night. At 6 PM, there's a boat show on the lake, and if you're lucky, you can take photos with a bear.
