Beauty of Choi Hung Estate
#winhkflight
Choi Hung is a vibrant neighbourhood located in Hong Kong. It's known for its colourful buildings that light up the area with bright hues of red, yellow, green, and blue. The name Choi Hung means "rainbow" in Cantonese, perfectly describing the lively atmosphere of the area. We took MTR to Choi Hung station. It's just a walking distance from MTR station to Choi Hung Estate. The neighbourhood also features parks and recreational facilities such as basketball court, providing residents with spaces to relax and exercise. With its vibrant colours and bustling energy, Choi Hung is a must-visit destination for anyone exploring Hong Kong.
I want to travel to Hong Kong to visit other area of Hong Kong to find our the beauty of Hong Kong.

The most iconic estate in Hong Kong 🌈🇭🇰
Choi Hung Estate is a vibrant gem amidst Hong Kong's urban landscape, renowned for its colorful basketball court and Instagram-worthy backdrop.
To reach this iconic photo spot, I took the MTR to Choi Hung Station on the Kwun Tong Line. From there, it's just a short walk to the estate. The spot to photograph the famous rainbow-hued buildings is the rooftop of the estate carpark.
Once at rooftop, I was greeted by a kaleidoscope of colours on the building across. Perhaps it has been awhile since it was repainted, the colours were not as vibrant and saturated as depicted in the photos I saw on Instagram. But I guess all these can be adjusted in the post edits hahaha.
Most people use the basketball court as the focal point for their photos. However, as there was a lot of people waiting on the basketball courts, I thought the badminton courts were just as good. It’s not easy trying to have a clean shot with no one in the foreground, but I guess it will help if you are patient and you go on a weekday!
In Dec 2023, the HK government has announced plans to rebuild Choi Hung Estate and relocate its residents. Do take the chance to visit this place before it disappears for good!

I want to go to Hong Kong (again) as I want to immerse myself in the vibrant streets, bustling markets, and iconic landmarks of Hong Kong. Victoria Peak, ICC and Big Buddha tops the list of places I want to go. Through my lens, I also want to inspire others to visit this energetic city!

The restaurant that serves everything
When I saw the restaurant name, Cafe De Itamomo, I expected to see a western restaurant who only sells pasta and steaks, but turns out they have more dishes than my first impression of the restaurant.
They sell variety of Hongkong style dishes, such as curry beef brisket with rice, Japanese food, such as stone pot rice with beef, and some pasta with the fusion of Asian taste.

In Rainbow Village, most buildings are painted with rainbow colors. The fantastic basketball court is a good photo backdrop. Come here at dusk for the best lighting. You can sit on the blue bench and face the rainbow building, with your profile facing the camera. You can also sit on the basketball court and face the sunset.

Hong Kong is a city of hustle with tall colorful buildings everywhere you look! I happened to find this basketball court in the middle of a apartment complex

In recent years, each village house has become Hong Kong's network red card, and the most famous and most people are keen to punch card is Rainbow Village, a whole year of large buildings have been painted With a colorful color, the best position is naturally located on the basketball court on the roof parking lot in the village house. The colored ground is also a rainbow behind it. When the sun is just right, it is beautiful!

The first destination for breakfast was Rainbow Village.
This is a relatively large public housing estate in Hong Kong.
Rainbow Village is mainly filled with various colors on the outer wall of public housing, and it looks like a rainbow.
The place we shot was a parking lot, and the top floor was a basketball court that gave people the sun. There are almost no people during the day on weekends, and occasionally a few grandfathers pass by.
Hong Kong is really hot and hot. I am wearing a short denim and I want to take off my coat, but because it is too dry, I am afraid of tanning. . . So wear it!
This is really not like the end of December. I am so envious of Hong Kong people, I can live this warm winter.

There are many distinctive public housing estates in Hong Kong. The densely colored matchbox houses are painted with beautiful colors, which give people a strong visual impact. Rainbow Village is one of them.
, as the name suggests, the outer walls of Rainbow Village are painted in seven colors of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, blue and purple; each line is uniform color, and is equipped with dense buildings, neat layout It is like a work of art~~
The seven roads in Rainbow Village are also the first characters in the seven colors of the rainbow. Rainbow Village is located at the MTR Rainbow Station. All the rainbow-related items in Hong Kong will be This place is full!
In addition to the Rainbow Building, the color of the stadium grounds should not be too nice~
Arrival: Rainbow Village is located in Wong Tai Sin, Kowloon, near MTR [Rainbow] Station, Exit C3, which can enter the estate from the northeast exit;
I took the No. 26 bus from Tsim Sha Tsui. Under [Jingtai Street], I walked to the southwest exit of the village for ten minutes.
Shooting: The sports field is the best shooting spot in Rainbow Village, the Rainbow Village parking lot on the map. The top floor of the two-story parking lot is this kind of sports field~ such a beautiful scene, the mobile phone can take a shot, add a filter to force a circle of friends.

Hong Kong's Choi Hung Estate, a popular spot for Instagrammers—gentle rainbow hues
Choi Hung Estate is one of the earliest public housing estates built in Hong Kong, located in Ngau Chi Wan, Wong Tai Sin District of Kowloon. Ngau Chi Wan was also directly referred to as Choi Hung, which is due to this estate situated to the north. Choi Hung Estate has become a niche spot for photography enthusiasts who know how to have fun.
Take the C4 exit at the Choi Hung Estate MTR station, and you'll see the two-story car park in the middle of the estate buildings. Just go up the stairs to get there; it's not hard to find, as long as you don't take the wrong exit, the car park is right in the center of the community.

Hong Kong's new trendy photo spot, Rainbow Village bursts with color
The photos of Rainbow Village are taken on a three-story platform, where there is a brightly colored basketball court, surrounded by buildings painted in soft pastel hues. The combination is very picturesque and has become a hot spot for social media influencers. Many young girls come here to take photos and check in.
Take the subway to Rainbow Station and check in with the station name first, then exit at C4. Just follow the navigation and walk your way there.
If there are kids playing basketball, you can borrow a basketball for photo ops.

7 things you must know when visiting Hong Kong's Rainbow Village, no need to ask for help and just enjoy!
Hong Kong's Rainbow Village is located in Ngau Chi Wan, Wong Tai Sin District, Kowloon, and is a transportation hub in the area. With its colorful houses, it has become popular all over the country and is now one of the most popular check-in spots in Hong Kong, favored by young artists. This seemingly ordinary Rainbow Village is actually very beautiful for photography. Now, let's follow the footsteps of Shanye Jun to see the face of the earliest public housing village in Kowloon and even Hong Kong!
Rainbow Village is located in the core area of Kowloon City, surrounded by several main roads. The convenient transportation makes Rainbow Village a hot spot for public housing estates in Hong Kong. It is named 'Rainbow Village' because of its colorful appearance and its location near the Rainbow subway station. The word 'village' is different from 'village' in Chinese dictionary, which generally means a bustling village.
As early as 1958, Rainbow Village was built and became the earliest public housing estate in Kowloon and even Hong Kong. The village is quiet, but it is surrounded by city roads, giving it a style of hiding in the city. Among them, Bai Xue Building is close to the city's main road, less than 10 meters away from Kwun Tong Road, and is a quiet place in the city.
The rooms in each building of Rainbow Village are equipped with living and dining rooms, terraces, kitchens, bathrooms and living spaces. Double rooms, four-person rooms and six-person rooms are generally located in high-rise buildings, while eight-person rooms and twelve-person rooms are located in low-rise buildings, with scientific and reasonable design.
The location of Rainbow Village is too good. Outside the door of Bai Xue Building is the bustling main road of Kowloon City. The constant flow of traffic proves that this is a residential treasure. The surrounding facilities are complete. The first batch of people who bought houses in Rainbow Village in 1958 were very lucky and must have made a lot of money now.
Rainbow Village has been around for half a century since 1958, so various facilities are very complete. In addition to shops, schools and post offices, there are even churches for local residents to worship.
Don't think that Rainbow Village is small, but its facilities are very complete, which can meet the needs of residents for walking, exercising and resting. In Rainbow Village, you can always find a place to rest and sit for a while, which feels quite comfortable and leisurely. Therefore, Hong Kong is not as stressful as netizens say.
Rainbow Village has a large parking lot and small temporary parking spaces, as well as public schools and various shops, making Rainbow Village the most complete housing estate in Hong Kong. The ecological environment in the village is also quite good. It is worth checking in here, so the housing problem in Hong Kong is not as unbearable as netizens say.
That's about all the introductions about Rainbow Village. Next, Shanye Jun will simply list the related strategies of Rainbow Village!
1. Transportation issues: The location of Rainbow Village is too convenient. You can get off at the 'Rainbow' station on the Kwun Tong Line; dozens of buses such as Kowloon Bus 101, Kowloon Bus 14, Kowloon Bus 15, Kowloon Bus 16, Kowloon Bus 26, Kowloon Bus 26X, Kowloon Bus 27, Kowloon Bus 28, Kowloon Bus 29M, Kowloon Bus 42, Kowloon Bus 5M, Kowloon Bus 95 and Kowloon Bus N293 go directly.
2. Playability recommendation index: If calculated on a full score of 10, the playability recommendation index of Rainbow Village is about 4-6 points. For ordinary tourists, the highlights are not very obvious. If you want to experience the development of early public housing estates and check in for photos, you can visit here by the way.
3. Best travel season: In principle, all four seasons are suitable, but Shanye Jun recommends the deep autumn season, because Hong Kong's deep autumn is basically dominated by blue sky and white clouds, and the temperature is not hot, suitable for walking and exercising. Rainbow Village in deep autumn, under the influence of good weather, appears more charming, whether it is for viewing buildings or checking in for photos.
4. Suggested play time: Rainbow Village is not too large in scale, with the aerial basketball court as the biggest selling point, and other places can be walked around in 20 minutes. If you are taking pictures, reserve another 20 minutes. Therefore, Shanye Jun suggests that the time to visit Rainbow Village is completely enough within 1 hour.
5. Local language communication issues: Most of the people in Hong Kong's Rainbow Village are locals, mostly middle-aged and elderly people. They basically only speak Cantonese or English, and a very small number of middle-aged and elderly people speak a bit of stiff Mandarin, which is a bit difficult to communicate. But fortunately, you don't need to ask others for questions in Rainbow Village. A smart phone or my strategy basically solves all problems.
6. Special precautions: Due to Hong Kong's special geographical location, the weather will change. It is recommended that everyone bring umbrellas, sunglasses and other items when coming to Rainbow Village. In addition, do not easily visit other people's private houses, you will be driven away or even subject to Hong Kong law, after all, Hong Kong law is very strong in protecting privacy.
7. Recommended nearby scenic spots: Rainbow Village is not only convenient for transportation, but also has many nearby scenic spots, such as Chi Lin Nunnery, Diamond Hill, Wong Tai Sin Temple, Kai Tak Playground, Ngau Chi Wan Park and Kowloon Walled City Park, etc. Famous scenic spots are close at hand, it is recommended that everyone follow this route to play for a whole day, this route is quite good.

Walking 90,000 steps in four days, I toured the old city of Hong Kong
Here are some of the most worthwhile old streets for leisurely strolls.
1️⃣, Chun Yang Street in North Point: You can take a tram around half of the city for three dollars. I saw an old man desperately riding a bicycle, delivering food between two cars. From the second floor of the tram, you can see Hong Kong from a different perspective, overlooking the streets and shops under the scorching sun.
2️⃣, Rainbow Village: Despite its dense and minor adjustments, it has color, making everything dull and boring become brilliant, with some small details, some color, and maintaining cleanliness.
3️⃣, The S-shaped slope of the police station on the mountain road in the western district of Xin Pan Road: From the overpass, you can take pictures of the church at the end of Hong Kong. Here you can see the complexity of Hong Kong's terrain.
4️⃣, Scorpio Wheel: This is Hong Kong's sea sunset ferry. When it comes from the port, it is retro green. When sitting by the window, it is silver. When it is close to the shore, it is the golden light of the lake.
5️⃣, A literary street by the sea next to the Star Sea in Kennedy Town: Because of this sign, the street and the seaside are a bit like Japan.
6️⃣, Goldfish Street: A whole street of goldfish shops near Mong Kok, with transparent plastic bags filled with air and water, and prices written out, a row of goldfish buying, is a microcosm of Hong Kong's love for life.
7️⃣, Mong Kok Bus Terminal: The small terminal on Tung Choi Street in Mong Kok will start to compete in the evening. All the small ones will stop next to the vegetable market. Although it is crowded, it also makes the street look cute.
8️⃣, Victoria Harbour: The prosperous night of sunrise and sunset, this place that represents the pride of Hong Kong, this night with the style of an international city, can truly represent the night of Hong Kong. From these ten old streets, I saw that Hong Kong has retained the congestion, refinement, speed, rhythm, and nostalgia of a city.

Choi Hung Estate, or rainbow in English, is one of the oldest public estates in Hong Kong. It is also a living community that witnesses the city's transformation. While most of the visitors come for the colorful buildings, many shops are indeed in operation for decades and offer an interesting glimpse of the local life. Quite an interesting place to meander around.

Rainbow Village is a public area. One of the residential buildings has been painted with many colors. To get best photos, be sure to do all of the following: 1) Go on a clear day. 2) Wear smiply-colored or light-colored clothing. 3) Stay away from crowds and change up your background. 4) As Rainbow Village is lighter than other locations, keep an eye of the vividness and saturation of your photos.
Phillis.
The entire building is painted with the colors of the rainbow. Even outside of Rainbow Village, there are a great deal of colorful buildings in Hong Kong. The best photo backdrop in Rainbow Village is the basketball court by the colorful building. With four colors, it makes for a bright and Instagrammable background.

Rainbow Village - a rainbow in the middle of the concrete jungle. Almost all walls here are painted red, orange, yellow, green, blue, or purple. The best photo backdrop is the multicolored basketball court on the top of the parking lot, which is particularly eye-catching. Whether your photos feature the Rainbow Buildings or the basketball court, they're sure to turn out great.

Hong Kong has so much to offer, from architecture to beautiful beaches and mountains, buzzing nightlife scene, best foodie places, Hong Kong has it all. But where to start?! Grab your friend and head to some of the coolest spots in the world, like Choi Hung Estate, also known as the rainbow estate. Together with the basketball field in the front, it makes the perfect time to chill, play a ball or take that famous colored picture. Note, that some people wait hours here to get the perfect shot without people, so make sure to come on weekdays or early in the morning. And note that these rainbow-colored buildings are people’s home, so keep in mind to be respectful.

Entering Rainbow Village, I was looking for a house with the same photo on the Internet. Finally, two enthusiastic primary school students walked around the parking lot platform in the middle of the building. Its hard to find yourself! (But take the subway to remember the Rainbow Station C4, and see Rainbow English Middle School just to find it).
Rainbow Village was originally built to provide local residents with affordable housing similar to the mainland. After all, in Hong Kong, the high cost of housing and the cost of living are also a big burden for ordinary people. Draw and name your home with a rainbow, making it seem relaxed, colorful, more dynamic and motivating!
on the platform, coupled with the hot days, suddenly disappointed, psychologically prepared for the photos on the network is somewhat fictional, but I did not expect that the gap is so big, here is not like the color of the scam, how much Some are light, after all, it has been decades. Coupled with the large number of punchers traffic attracted by the network in recent years, there is simply no desire to take pictures! But since it is here, look for a gap composition!
Centered on the middle of the basketball court, the background on both sides of the right angle is the best background effect, of course, the most people. Four words: "See you!" Looking for a good composition of the mobile phone, taking advantage of the angle of no one, hurry up, in the twenty minutes, I also took a few shots. In fact, patiently taste, the bright residential building, very small and fresh, is. . . Avoid the holidays and weekends when people have a lot of traffic, and take a nap! Others, the masters will deal with it later! !

See the rainbow every day? Rainbow Village near the MTR Rainbow Station, due to its special space and color, has become a network red spot in the young people's lens!
Come here to take photos, it is a test of the photographer's creativity, because there is almost no unified position, or the formation of attractions, relying on inspiration and personal aesthetic!
This small basketball court, a collection of models of various poses and photographers of various methods, lying, sitting, jumping, everything is estimated to be the most popular shooting in Hong Kong. Ground!
In these glamorous high-rise buildings, the living space of each household is estimated to be 40-50.........hh/
Speaking of this Rainbow Village, the entire area is the earliest in Hong Kong. One of the public housing estates in Hong Kong is a public housing estate in Hong Kong that has been built in the past few years! For Hong Kong, which is built in size, these public rental houses built by the government or voluntary groups and leased to low-income people have become Hong Kong's most important housing category!
At present, there are about 2.6 million public housing units in Hong Kong. It is said that more than 40% of Hong Kong people live in such public housing. I wonder how expensive Hong Kong's housing prices are!
Traffic: Rainbow Station C4 exit, left hand enters an alley, see a middle school gate, the top of the parking lot opposite!

Exploring Hong Kong's Honghong Village, netizens must play cards
Hong Kong's public housing has its own characteristics and a wide variety. It was formed in the 70s and 80s of the last century. It carries the thick 20th century that the time has passed. Nowadays, the strong visual impact brought by the design style of the old house or the square or the circle is the beauty that cannot be abandoned! Rainbow Village is adjacent to the MTR Rainbow Station. As the name suggests, the village can meet the rainbow whether it is sunny or rainy.
Arrive at the C4 exit of the Rainbow Village Station. According to Google Maps, you can easily see the rainbow-colored buildings. It is important to remember that this basketball court is not on the first floor but in the On the third floor, you need to go up to a parking lot to see it.
Another red roof is the circle in the picture. It is very layered. The location is called [Lehua Nancun Parking Lot]. It is still on the top floor, or you can't find it. There is excellent here. The sense of perspective is to arrange a team in advance.
TIPS: The temperature in Hong Kong is very comfortable in December. You can choose bright clothes in the shooting. For example, this friend is the white dress of choice. It is especially matched with the color of the rainbow. White is always a With a versatile color, come to Hong Kong, don't miss this great punching place.

The traffic is very convenient. Take the MTR to the Rainbow Station and the subway station is Rainbow Village. In "Lonely Planet Lonely Planet", Rainbow Village ranks third in "Hong Kong's Top Ten Ins Hotspots". Hong Kong's red spots must be punched, so there is no off-season here, and visitors are always there.
Rainbow Village is one of the earliest public housing estates in Hong Kong and is located in Wong Tai Sin District, Kowloon. It is built by the Buildings Committee and is currently managed by the Hong Kong Housing Authority. There is a car park and five schools in the village. There are also shops selling food and daily necessities in the ground floor of the building. There is also a post office. There are also roads in the village to connect the buildings and connect the Kwun Tong Road, Lung Cheung Road and Choi Wan.
Colorful buildings, really like a rainbow, visitors are deeply fascinated by this colorful rainbow. The exterior walls of the school also have colored decorations, but they have a completely different style from the residential buildings.
The perfect location for watching Rainbow Village is the stadium in the middle of the building. It is also a good place for residents to enjoy the cool and leisure.
Rainbow Village basketball court is also a major feature. The average basketball court is mostly one or two colors, but here are several colors. The spliced color blocks are very nice to match, and the colors used are all echoed with the rainbow.
