China Eastern- Old Airbus A310 Beijing
Airbus A310 is a 200 seat medium and short range wide-body airliner developed by the Airbus on the basis of the Airbus A300. Development began in July 1978 and commercial services started in March 1983.
This aircraft (Reg. Number:B-2301) is the first Airbus aircraft in China, It was delivered in July 1985. It was operated by China Northwest Airlines and China Eastern Airlines.
After the aircraft was retired , it was donated to the Civil Aviation Museum in 2007.
I remember my first flight on Airbus A310-300 of S7 Airlines back when I was a kid 🙂 I was shocked by the size of the airplane.😮
I love that in this museum you can walk under the airplane and even touch it 😍 very unique experience!

Lisunov Li2 Reg:3018 - Beijing
Back then in the days of World War II, Douglas DC-3 twin-piston airliners were used in considerable amounts by the Soviet Union, which was under the license of the USSR as the Lisunov Li-2. After the war has ended, they switched to an improved version of a twin-piston airliner, the Ilyushin il-12, resulting in delicate il-14. Ilyushin II-12, this was a modified version of Li-2 in all manners and was for short airfields as well.
Lisunov Li-2 was also used in China. The one displayed in the museum carries an all-over olive drab color with three yellow stripes around the fuselage and wings.

Ilyushin Il-14P
Ilyushin Il-14P ( Reg. number: B-4208) this aircraft had been used to fly the Chinese leader Chairman Mao Zedong and was presented by Soviet’s Stalin in 1956. The aircraft is still wearing CAAC colors.
The best part is that you can still get onboard of this beautiful aircraft and see the interior 😍 Being able how the VVIPs we’re flying back in 50s is very interesting!
As you can see in the pictures the museum is doing a great job keeping this Ilyushin il-14 in a very very good condition!
BTW Ilyushin IL-14 is a legendary machine and some of them are still flying 🫣

Nanchang Y-5 (licence-built Antonov An-2)
On the ground level of the museum you can find a Nanchang Y-5 (licence-built Soviet’s Antonov An-2), (Reg. Number: B-8404) in a blue color livery - markings of Nanjing University College of Civil Aviation.
Back out through the front doors and turning right, the first aircraft you come to see is rather battered looking Shijiazhuang Y-5 8207 – another licence-built Antonov An-2. Unfortunately the airplane is in extremely bad condition - all of the wing, flap, aileron, elevator and tailplane ribs are exposed. I have no idea what is the reason that this beautiful bird is in such a bad condition, I felt bad seeing this old lady...
P.S. Maybe they wanted to show the structure of the wing IDK…

Solo visit to - Civil aviation museum
I had a long layover in Beijing so I decided to visit the civil aviation museum that is located not far from Beijing capital International Airport.
The civil aviation museum has lots of interactive attractions. The museum has lots of valuable displays highlighting the early Chinese aviation history. It also has many other “retired” airliners. A good example is the highly anticipated Mao’s plane. However, the majority of planes being displayed are not accessible.
At times, you have to pay 10 yuan to enter Mao’s plane, and do as little as viewing its interior by the door. They also have realistic flight simulators (Three of them worked well.) which did cost 100 yuan. The China Civil Aviation Museum is a must visit if you are into history, especially China’s aviation history or old airplanes. I was all by myself almost as always but A lot of people were visiting the museum with kids. Kids are highly recommended to visit as much as they all offer a less exciting “fun” bit. They might be a little complicated to kids but hey, if there is interest, why not visit with them?

The Civil Aviation Museum, where the dream of flying begins
Photos are still from last summer, the China Civil Aviation Museum, took the kids there for fun, the location is not particularly remote, we parked on the roadside without paying for parking, just had to walk a little bit.
The museum is divided into indoor and outdoor sections, as soon as you walk into the indoor area, it feels like you've arrived at the terminal. Inside, it is divided into two floors above ground and one below, but it is not enclosed, and you can see between the floors. Small aircraft are suspended in the sky, and ancient passenger planes that you can enter and visit are displayed on the ground. Around there are exhibits and paintings introducing knowledge about the origins of airplanes and aviation development. Kids can learn a lot of aviation-related knowledge. It mainly features civil aviation series.
Outdoors are the real airplane exhibits. These are probably retired civil aviation passenger planes on display. Standing next to the plane makes you feel so small.
For those who love airplanes, both adults and kids, I think this is a very good spot for checking in. It's also great for taking photos.
