Cleopatra's Needle - London
Cleopatra's Needle is the largest obelisk in Britain (so big that it is even listed in the Guinness Book of Records). Its height is 21 meters, weight - 189.35 tons. The obelisk is made of pink granite. There are 2 Cleopatra's Needle’s in the world - in London and in New York.
This ancient Egyptian obelisk was carved in the quarries of Aswan about three and a half millennia ago. It bears the names of two pharaohs and Queen Cleopatra. For several centuries, the Needle stood in Alexandria, and then spent an unknown number of decades knocked down in the sands. In the 19th century, the obelisk was donated to Great Britain. It was brought with adventures to London and installed on the Victoria Embankment.
Cleopatra’s Needle stands on the Thames Embankment close to the Embankment underground station.

Statue of the Sphinx at Cleopatra's Needle
Address - Victoria Embankment, London WC2N 6PB, United Kingdom (Located 5 minutes from Embankment station)
Highlights - Historical landmarks. Commemoration of the victories. Inscribed with Egyptian hieroglyphs.
Rating - 5/5
From the point, there are excellent views of some of the city's most famous landmarks including the London Eye, the River Thames, the Golden Jubilee Bridge and more.
IIt is a picturesque spot if you walk along the River Thames, though I would say it is also considered a more quiet spot during the day where people enjoy strolls, stop often to admire the scenery, or even write postcards for their loved ones.
If you want to learn more about the statue's historical background, you should visit the place once!
