Travel the World Heritage Sites with Einstein - Bern
👍️Recommended Reason:
Bern is a low-key city. Although it became the capital of Switzerland in 1848, it is far less known than Zurich and Geneva.
Climb up to the Rose Garden on the hill, which is an excellent place to overlook the panoramic view of Bern from a high place. The clear Aare River divides the city into two halves, with the old town on the west bank and the new town on the east bank. Seven bridges spanning the Aare River connect the old town and the new town.
The city's wealth secrets are hidden in these street fountain sculptures.
Most of them were built in the 16th century to show the city's wealth and commemorate local heroes. Today, 12 of them remain.
The cover photo is a statue of Duke Zähringen, who named the city after the first beast he hunted in the area, a bear.
📅Travel Guide:
Einstein spent 7 years in Bern. It is said that Einstein got his inspiration from looking out of the two windows facing the street from his residence and seeing the landmark clock tower of Bern.
It was during this time in Bern that he proposed the quantum theory of light and the special theory of relativity, pioneering a new era in physics.
🏨Accommodation Guide:
While visiting attractions, accommodation is also an important issue. What are some cost-effective hotels near Bern?
Ctrip provides detailed introductions, and here is one hotel recommendation.
Hotel Kreuz Bern, with free Wi-Fi,
The hotel is located in the medieval old town, enjoying a central location in Bern, a 5-minute walk from the train station.
It is less than a 2-minute walk from Bear Plaza, Zytgloggeturm, and the Federal Palace of Switzerland.
There are many shops and restaurants near the hotel.
💗Other Tips:
Be sure to stroll around the old town of Bern.
The Aare River surrounds the ancient town, where you can walk and enjoy the spectacular views of the Alps.
The old town of Bern is listed as a World Heritage Site, with stone slabs embedded in the road, and there is a fountain every three to five steps.
There are a total of 12 fountains, each different from the other. Friends with OCD can collect all 12 fountains and summon the "Dragon".
Traditional house buildings and modern new shops intertwine to form a beautiful cityscape.

One-day trip to the capital Bern
June 30th marks the thirteenth day of my trip to Europe, having finished visiting the Jungfrau, I took a train to Bern, the capital of Switzerland. Today is Sunday, and many shops are closed for rest.
The name Bern comes from the German word for 'bear,' which is also the symbol of the city. There is a place by the river where several brown bears are kept. Bern is not only the political center but also a city full of historical charm and modern vitality. The Old Town of Bern is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, renowned for its well-preserved medieval architecture, including the iconic Zytglogge clock tower and fountains from the Renaissance period. The Aare River meanders through the city, with its rapid waters surrounding the Old Town of Bern on three sides, forming a peninsula that is an ideal place for leisurely walks and enjoying the scenery.
The medieval cobblestone streets are bright, with connected arcades lining both sides, and ancient houses with red tiles and white walls complement each other, each with its own story-telling street heart column fountains. Its arcades, like our rider corridors, are especially suitable for shopping in summer and rainy days. The 16th-century clock tower and the Gothic cathedral, which began construction in 1421, give the Old Town of Bern an antique and medieval mystique.
