Pinghu | A hidden gem 1.5 hours from Shanghai
| A hidden gem 1.5 hours from Shanghai. ✨ After spending a long time in the fast-paced city of Shanghai, I always want to find a quiet place to hide. I accidentally discovered Pinghu, which is only 1.5 hours away from Shanghai, but hides unknown surprises 🎉.
🛤️Day 1: Ancient charm and modern style, a date with the lake and sea
Set off in the morning and head to Pinghu. First, rush to A Zhen A Ba for steaming hot specialty shumai, which is super satisfying 😋.
Then visit Mo's Manor, a Jiangnan-style old house with a lot of charm, and the second floor is open! When you get tired of walking, Flaneur Coffee's Dirty will refresh you ☕.
Have local food at Lao Pinghu Nanhetou Restaurant for lunch, and take a walk along Donghu Lake in the afternoon. Pass by the Li Shutong Memorial Hall and feel the tranquility at Baoben Zen Temple. The Tanghu Ten Games Zheli opposite Baoben Zen Temple is a great place for afternoon tea 🍵.
Ride a bike to Jiulongshan Forest Park to catch a sunset over the sea, which is breathtaking 🌅. Enjoy a delicious meal at Good Mom's Private Kitchen in the evening, then go to Sihu for a pearl milk tea toast, which is sweet to the heart. Return to the Courtyard by Marriott Pinghu and fall asleep with beautiful dreams.
🌳Day 2: City life, intangible cultural heritage
The chicken rice noodles at Maogou Rice Noodles for breakfast are amazing, and Huadatou's crab shell yellow and Pinghu pickled eggs are a must-pack 📦.
Head to Zhongdai Cherry Blossom Town to visit the temple fair and enjoy the flowers. The oil cakes at Zhen Nan Snacks are crispy and delicious. Then take a leisurely stroll along Zhongdai Old Street to feel the passage of time.
💖 Pinghu has a lot of delicious food, and the intangible cultural heritage delicacies are a must-try. The city parks are cozy and comfortable, and walking along Donghu Lake is very pleasant. Staying at the Courtyard by Marriott Pinghu allows you to enjoy the tranquility of Minghu Park. Mo's Manor, Baoben Zen Temple, Jiulongshan, Zhongdai Old Street... each has its own charm, which is completely different from the hustle and bustle of Shanghai. Spending a weekend here is like a "vacation" for the soul. Follow this route, and you will fall in love with Pinghu 💗!
