Visiting the Past in Red Square, Malacca
Visiting the Red Square in Malacca was a delight for lovers of historical buildings. This historical gem has a vibrant atmosphere and rich heritage. The square's red-painted buildings, including the Stadthuys and Christ Church, create a charming colonial backdrop that transports you back in time.
As I strolled through the square, I couldn't help but appreciate the architectural marvels surrounding me. The Stadthuys, a Dutch administrative building turned museum, provided a fascinating glimpse into Malacca's colonial past. Inside, I discovered artifacts, exhibits, and intricate details that highlighted the city's cultural heritage.
Christ Church, an iconic landmark within the Red Square, stood majestically with its striking red facade. Its interior boasts beautiful stained glass windows and a serene atmosphere that invites visitors to contemplate. I had the opportunity to learn about the church's significance and the role it played in shaping Malacca's history.
The square itself exudes a lively ambiance, often bustling with tourists and locals alike. Street vendors lined the sidewalks, offering delicious local delicacies, souvenirs, and crafts. I savored the opportunity to sample mouthwatering Nyonya snacks and shop for unique mementos.
The Red Square's central location also made it a convenient starting point to explore other attractions in Malacca. The nearby A Famosa fortress, Jonker Street, and the Malacca River were all within walking distance, allowing me to delve deeper into the city's vibrant culture and heritage.
Overall, my visit to the Red Square in Malacca left me with cherished memories. Its architectural beauty, historical significance, and lively atmosphere make it a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a glimpse into Malaysia's rich past.

World Heritage-listed town “Dutch Square”
World Heritage-listed town, constructed between 1660 and 1700, the terracotta buildings showcase colonial Dutch style : the clock tower, the state house, the church all colored a memorable dusty red, with louvered windows and thick iron doors. Handed over to the British in the late 19th century, the centerpiece of the square remains a fountain commemorating Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. Snap photos of the iconic structures and head into the onsite museum to learn more about the colonial era. Enjoy A Fresh Watermelon Juice 🍉🍹
A quick & refreshing watermelon juice right across the road at Dutch Square, Melaka. There are afew stalls selling the same things. But this particular stall is right at the pedestrian crossing, the man blending the juice has an iconic image, he always wears a cowboy hat. The juice is blended inside the watermelon itself. So it is really pure watermelon juice, served with ice cubes. There are also seats for u to be seated on & to take a break from the hot weather. They sell other food too.
However, as it is a tourist spot, the prices are abit marked up. From what I observed, it is dynamic pricing & depending on the size of watermelon. I got mine at RM12.
Nevertheless, a wonderful experience sitting down & drinking cold watermelon juice along the street right opposite the Dutch Square.

Walked around Dutch Square, a truly magnificent historical site. The architecture of buildings were really instaworthy. Many people were busy taking pictures and the environment was very vibrant and bustling. In the midst of all these heritage wonders, was a group of cute trishaws with eye-catching designs and LED lights. The uncles manning them were friendly and you can request to take pictures with their colourful trishaws. For the adventerous, you can hire them for a quick trishaw ride around the busy streets. Do negotiate and agree for the price beforehand. A must come tourist attraction for all in Melaka.

I visited Dutch Square (Red Square) in Melaka, and I was really surprised by the strong red color of the buildings—I've never seen anything like it anywhere else. The area was full of activity, with lots of students and tourists around, which made it a fun and lively place to be. There are plenty of interesting buildings to see, like the Stadthuys and Christ Church, which are both really well-preserved and give you a sense of the history of the place. It's easy to take a walking tour around the square and visit these buildings to learn more about their background and significance.

The Most Iconic Place In Melaka 🇲🇾
#familytrips2024
This time i visited the charming UNESCO World Heritage city; Melaka that located an easy drive from Kuala Lumpur. This city is rich with history, culture, colonial buildings, ancient landmarks, family-friendly attractions, and yummy local cuisine.
If you visit Melaka, you must Visit The Most Iconic Place in here, Red Square Melaka (Dutch Square). It harbors some of the city’s most popular buildings including Christ Church, the Malacca Art Gallery and Youth Museum, and the Stadthuys, all surrounding the Queen Victoria Fountain and the Red Clock Tower.
If you want to take an insta-worthy picture in this place, I recommend you to visit this place in the early morning to avoid tourist (i came to this place around 6AM). And point plus if you came at this hour is: this building is surrounded by beautiful and colorful lamps.

Malaysia Melaka
Malacca trip with mum n sisters. Such a memorable trip with them. Melaka, a colorful artsy city on a riverbank in southwestern Malaysia. The architecture, monuments, and people reflect the influences of its former position as a trading hub. Absorb the history of this UNESCO site in the mornings, street art in the afternoon, and the lively street market by night.
