Forever moved by the landscapes of Guangxi!!! On a spontaneous trip, I came to Chongzuo, this small border city. After arriving by high-speed train, I was immediately amazed by the city. It boasts ink-painting-like countryside, mountains all around, cascading waterfalls and springs, and the cost of living is very low. This city fulfills all the fantasies of 'choosing a city to grow old in.' In such beautiful landscapes, time seems to stop flowing, and there is nothing that the landscapes of Chongzuo can't cure; if once isn't enough, then come twice! Next, follow my route and start your Chongzuo journey! 🛻 Chongzuo 3 Days 2 Nights Self-Drive Tour Itinerary Day 1: Rent a car from Chongzuo South Station and head to Detian Transnational Waterfall Group, then go to Mingshi Countryside (watch the sunset here, accommodation prices are about 200-300 yuan). Day 2: First visit Mingshi Countryside, then go to Gulong Canyon, Sandiequan Waterfall, Tongling Grand Canyon, Aibu Waterfall, and finally arrive at E'quan (watch the sunset here, accommodation prices are about 100-200 yuan). China and Vietnam share a long border, however the most spectacular part of this must be the Detian Waterfalls in China's Guangxi Province. Around a 3 hours drive eastwards of Nanning, or alternatively south from Baise, it is reached by private car or public bus. To drive here, you can rent a car and drive yourself as the roads are in good condition and not difficult to navigate, or you can hire a driver. For the bus, you can depart from Nanning bus station, although this option is slower. Remember to bring ID or passports for buying tickets and for the frontier border check-even though you're not leaving a country, all vehicles are still inspected. When you arrive, you board the sightseeing bus up the mountain, straddling the river that seperates the two countries, finally arriving at the top and the waterfall scenic area. You walk in a circular direction around the waterfall from the east side, offering spectacular close-up views of the whole valley. There are many observation points for photos or videos here. There are places to buy souvenirs and also vietnamese snacks. Be sure to try the cliff walk, glass bridge and the slide down the mountain for 59¥! Best time to visit here has to be mid-afternoon, so that you get both daytime and the evening sunset over the mountains range and waterfalls. Yesterday on our way to Baise, Jingxi from Nanning, at half way, we stopped by the “Goose Spring”. 🦆 This place is highly recommended ✅, is a beautiful valley within the mountains ⛰️ that is combined with the green 🌳of the nature and yellow of the rice fields 🌾together with a gorgeous pound 💧, making this a very peaceful ☮️ and relaxing 🧘‍♀️🧘 spot 🏞️ To get there probably the best is to rent a car 🚗 or hired a driver, but we also saw some local buses 🚌 , that could bring you there from Nanning city. A niche tourist destination for National Day - Chongzuo.

Every year during the National Day Golden Week, all tourist attractions are packed with visitors, especially famous ones. I hate crowds. To avoid them, I searched online for a long time and finally found a niche destination - Chongzuo. Although not as famous as Guilin, Chongzuo's scenery is just as beautiful. Chongzuo is located in southwestern Guangxi, bordering the provincial capital Nanning and Vietnam. Due to time constraints, I only chose a few attractions, including Anping Xianhe, Mingshi Tianyuan, Detian Transnational Waterfall, Jingxi Goose Spring, and Gulongshan Grand Canyon. Among these attractions, the most famous is the Detian Transnational Waterfall. It also attracts the most visitors, so be sure to arrive early! We arrived at the visitor center hall around 7:00 am, and there were already 200-300 people in line. The scenic area officially opens around 8:00 am. After entering, remember to queue on the left to exchange for paper tickets. Do not queue on the right! Although the Anping Xianhe Scenic Area is not as well-developed, there are very few tourists. It is very cost-effective to find a local to charter a boat for only 200 yuan. The boat travels through the river, with beautiful scenery on both sides. The entire journey takes about 40 minutes, which is very pleasant. I think Goose Spring is just average. If you don't go to Jingxi, there's no need to go there. The waterfalls in Gulongshan Grand Canyon are not bad, and there is Tongling Waterfall next to them. If you have time, you can visit both. In general, Chongzuo does not have many tourists. If you want to find a place with few people and beautiful scenery during National Day, Chongzuo is a good choice.

Jingxi Goose Spring is an ascending spring in a peak forest valley. The spring mouth belongs to a karst cave and is a large underground dark river outlet. The main stream of the dark river is 21 kilometers long, and the spring water flows eastward to become the Goose Spring River. These photos are straight out of the camera with no filters. Just tell me, isn't it beautiful? It's very cost-effective to take a bamboo raft here, only 10 yuan per person, cheaper than Guilin! A small regret is that we originally planned to take a hot air balloon ride here, but due to the weather, it couldn't take off. Well, let's leave some regrets and come back next time!

The beauty of Jingxi Goose Spring really depends on the time!

Goose Spring is very close to Jingxi, and we set off from Sandie Ridge: Sandie Ridge - Goose Spring - Hena Highway Roundabout - Quyang Lake - Longkala - Nanning loop. Goose Spring is just at the entrance of the scenic area, where you park and then fly a drone in to take pictures. The daytime scenery of Goose Spring is indeed quite ordinary, and it only really looks good in the early morning or at dusk. It is recommended to visit before 7:00 am or after 19:00 pm to see Goose Spring at its most beautiful. Taking a boat also has the charm of the water towns in the south of the Yangtze River. From Goose Spring to Quyang Lake, you will pass through the big roundabout of the Hena Highway, where you can take aerial photos, but currently, it is not the season and everything is just a green expanse, not very stunning.

Jingxi Goose Spring, such a quaint and beautiful scenic spot!

If you enter the park early in the morning with a ticket🎫, a one to two hour visit is enough🕑. The spring water is so green💚 and clear that it's simply stunning😍! The mountain and pastoral scenery is also very characteristic of Guangxi🌟, and it's truly worth a visit👍! The scenic area also has set up photo checkpoints📸, with an observation deck on the hillside where you can take panoramic shots🌄! For tourists in a hurry, following the marked checkpoints in the scenic area can be very efficient💪! I heard that entering before 8 am can get you free admission🎫, but unfortunately, due to scheduling, I missed out😔. The overall lighting for photography in the morning was a bit backlit😥, I think entering the scenic area in the afternoon might be better for photos🤔~
