Wandering through the historic city of Edinburgh, Scotland.
Strolling through the birthplace of the Harry Potter series—Edinburgh—feels like traveling through a time tunnel, allowing you to personally experience the rich history of this ancient city. From the Vennel viewpoint, you can overlook the entire city, with the towering Edinburgh Castle standing majestically on the rock, as if guarding this tranquil city.
Entering the New College of the University of Edinburgh, I felt as if I had stepped into a temple of knowledge filled with the scent of books. The Gothic architecture, intersecting corridors, and staircases all exude a strong academic atmosphere. Here, I can feel the footsteps of countless students who have studied here.
Climbing Calton Hill, I gazed at the vast sunset cityscape. Looking into the distance, surrounded by mountains, the ever-changing sea of clouds on the horizon creates a captivating scenic painting. Here, the charm of nature and culture deeply attracts me.
Walking through Edinburgh is like a wonderful journey through time. Whether it's the majestic castle, the solemn and steady college, or the idyllic town, I deeply feel the unique historical and cultural atmosphere of this city, as if I am in a three-dimensional historical painting.

"The castle keeps secrets for love" Edinburgh Castle
One of the filming locations of Jay Chou's "Ming Ming Jiu" MV🏴
Almost missed Edinburgh Castle when I came to Edinburgh🏰
Because the castle is very popular, tickets must be booked in advance‼️
I didn't book in advance, and found out that the tickets were sold out when I walked in on the day
Fortunately, the kind staff at the door told me that I could ask at the tourist info
With a try-it-out attitude, I bought the original price ticket for the day at the city sightseeing bus stop in front of the church⛪️! You can go straight in at the time without queuing~
If you forget to make an appointment in advance like me, you can try this method💕
🏰Edinburgh Castle Edinburgh Castle

🚗If you drive by yourself, you can only park at the foot of the mountain, because there is no parking lot🅿️ near the castle, we parked at the nearest NCP Edinburgh Castle Terrace, the parking fee is a bit expensive, walk up the steps for 15 minutes and you will arrive at the main entrance of the castle~
📷Photo location
▪️Jay Chou's same location, keep going inside after entering the door, don't go uphill, there will be a downhill place, next to it is the museum, and the viewing platform is at the end where you can see the distant church
▪️Another location is near the small church after going uphill, the roof is very obvious~
▪️Ross Fountain Ross Fountain, outside the castle, you can enjoy the panoramic view of the castle, it is also a very good angle for taking pictures~🆓

Edinburgh Christmas Season|Waiting for a century sunset on Calton Hill
Edinburgh is a city full of magic, it's the kind of romantic that no matter how many times you come, you still want more.
This is my third time in Edinburgh, and Calton Hill gave me the most explosive sunset of 2023!!
·
I happened to catch the Christmas market in Edinburgh, the streets are full of Christmas atmosphere, the whole city looks more vibrant.
Edinburgh city is not big, basically you can have a lot of fun just by walking, take this 2-day citywalk route, while exploring the city don't forget to go to the Christmas market to experience the local lifestyle!
·
Day1️⃣
Edinburgh Castle (How can you not see the light of Scotland, you can overlook the whole Edinburgh from the castle. The castle is very big, if you visit carefully, you can stay for half a day)➡️Rose Street Butter Beer (Potions Cauldron on Rose Street is a very famous butter beer store, Harry Potter fans must not miss it)➡️George Street Christmas Market (In addition to Prince's Park, there is also a Christmas market on George Street in Edinburgh city, with fewer people, this year's carousel is on George Street)➡️Calton Hill (A must-go in Edinburgh! The sunset never disappoints)
·
Day2️⃣
Dean Village (A small village on the edge of Edinburgh city, with a very British retro taste, about 20 minutes walk from the train station)➡️Victoria Street (The colorful facades are very recognizable, the shop fronts are various styles, full of Christmas atmosphere)➡️W.Armstong & Son Vintage Shop (One of the most famous vintage shops in Edinburgh, I always find something every time I come, this time I got a saddle bag)➡️Prince Street Garden Christmas Market (You can see the skyline of Edinburgh from Prince's Park, with a magical attribute, with the addition of the Christmas market, it's even more fairy tale, dinner was solved at the Christmas market, I love hot dogs + hot red wine, it's the taste of Christmas)➡️Waverley Station (Waverley Station is really full of industrial flavor, Christmas lighting is also very ceremonial)
·
The winter days in Edinburgh are short, which is very suitable for citywalk, not tired and you won't feel too cold if you move around. If you have time, I highly recommend you to squat a sunrise at Arthur's Seat.
·
The best way to go to Edinburgh is of course by train. It only takes over 4 hours to take the LNER train from London to Edinburgh, it's very convenient to buy tickets from the self-service machine at King's Cross Station. I stayed in York for an extra 2 days, it only takes over an hour from York to Waverley Station in Edinburgh, scanning the QR code to enter the station saves a lot of time.
First class seats come with catering service, LNER has launched a special Christmas catering, the taste is not bad (also got a lot of chocolates and candies)~ I didn't expect there to be charging devices on the LNER train, no more anxiety about phone battery
·
PS: It's recommended to stay near Waverley Station in Edinburgh, it's convenient to go anywhere, you can have a lot of fun just by walking, if you haven't decided where to go for Christmas, why not come to Edinburgh for a romantic sunset~~~ Edinburgh·UK

This historic fortress, with its imposing walls and captivating towers, draws visitors from around the world eager to immerse themselves in the history of a place that has withstood the test of time.
The atmosphere within its walls is steeped in mystery and grandeur, with restored chambers that tell the tales of monarchs who resided here, battles fought, and eras navigated.
In the heart of Edinburgh stands a symbol of power, resilience, and tumultuous history: Edinburgh Castle. Its origins trace back to Roman times, when the volcanic hill on which it stands provided an impregnable strategic position.
Over the centuries, the castle bore witness to conflicts, battles, and rulers that shaped Scotland’s destiny. It hosted kings and queens, endured sieges, and channeled the fervor of rebels. One of its darkest moments was the “Massacre of Glencoe” in 1692, when the castle became a stage for betrayal and violence. Nevertheless, it’s also a beacon of hope and resilience, a monument that witnessed the birth of a nation.
Today, its towers bear witness to a country’s struggle for identity and freedom, continuing to inspire those who walk amongst its ancient stones.

Roam around Edinburgh
One of the best cities i’ve felt in love with. Though train from London is possible, we chose to take a ride on a plane to save more time . Tourist spots were just nearby so walking is highly recommended.
We had an ice cream at the princess gardens and took a quick walk to the Calton Hill. The next day, we climbed Arthur’s seat, took a tour to the different museums which are all free. #england #valentinescape #edinburgh

The mesmerising Edinburgh castle
I visited Edinburgh last September, and managed to take in the last rays of the summer season before it got too cold. Edinburgh castle sits on a volcanic remnant overlooking the city, and can be viewed from many vantage points.
It is steeped in history and traces its establishment back to the middle aged. The castle used to be the home to Scotland's Kings and Queens.

Edinburgh Castle - Edinburgh, EDI
#ediinsider #tripblazers
There is a tendency to think of a trip to a castle, as being a moribund trot around a few ancient remains of long lost splendour, illuminated by the odd tale of knights and various derring-do's. But such notions couldn't be further from what unfolds when you visit the very much intact and fully functioning and breathing Edinburgh castle.
For between it's walls heaves a living history of not just the castle but the Scottish people and their nation as a whole, as the story of patriotism and bravery is replayed and retold through a number of exhibitions, particularly in the national war museum.
The crown jewels and stone of destiny housed in the royal palace were also highlights, though at busier times than those we went I fear the queue for these literal gems may be yonks and an endurance test for your patience.
To top all this off any peer over a wall will give you the most breathtaking views of the very fine city of Edinburgh and its surround imaginable.
It's a long steep hill to reach the entrance to the castle, but once you gather your breath and suck on a slither of oxygen the enchantment and interest awaiting within these foreboding walls shall be worth it.

Most Beautiful Place in UK
Edinburgh Castle is a huge area with interesting fact about living condition in the kingdom. Many information regarding soldiers including code of conduct and duty inside there. I was lucky to also saw the real current soldier doing parole.
Beside that, the sunset is very beautiful, although actually in background it was a grave field. Spent many hours enjoying touring around this place. Before I went back to hotel, I was greeted with the moon.
Although Edinburgh is very expensive city, but worth to spend here for exploring. Over all trip to UK, Edinburgh is the most enjoyable one.

Edinburgh Castle is a historic castle in Edinburgh, Scotland. It stands on Castle Rock, which has been occupied by humans since at least the Iron Age, although the nature of the early settlement is unclear. There has been a royal castle on the rock since at least the reign of David I in the 12th century, and the site continued to be a royal residence until 1633. From the 15th century, the castle's residential role declined, and by the 17th century it was principally used as military barracks with a large garrison. Its importance as a part of Scotland's national heritage was recognised increasingly from the early 19th century onwards, and various restoration programmes have been carried out over the past century and a half.

Edinburgh is a historic castle which stands on Castle Rock. It has a lot of history in it. England is a country in United Kingdom which is popular among the many UNESCO heritage sites and historical landmark. One of which is located right smack in Edinburgh City called the Edinburgh Castle where it stands at Castle rock which is a hill top and has been occupied by humans dating back into the 11th century.

As iconic attraction, it's a must visit place at Edinburgh. The castle requires ticket, and you can also buy ticket for photographer if needed.
there was an MV from Taiwan singer Jay chow called ‘明明就’ which take the shoot at the castle 🏰. I took the visit during COviD and thus there will be less crowd.
Recommend to visit earlier as the view will be much better, imo.

Edinburgh's Old Town obviously can't see the sea but always sees the seagulls from the port leap between the tall ancient towers
They don't care at all about the narrow lanes
long-distance calls of the streets. Wake up the whole city in the mist
Who said it was a palace city but in fact the castle built on the mountain is like a small town
but the effect of the fog seems to feel completely out of the Inside the castle
Edinburgh Castle stands tall on the top of a black extinct volcanic rock on the west side of Princes Street. Overlooking the city of Edinburgh
These black cliffs are the reason for the existence of Edinburgh, which plays a role in Scottish history. Key role.
The castle is both a royal palace and an important military fortress. Attractions within the
castle include: St Margaret's Chapel, the Royal Palace and the National War Museum of Scotland.
The Military Tattoo is held here in August every year, and the majestic atmosphere of Edinburgh Castle is revealed.
Those who travel to Edinburgh will not miss Edinburgh Castle, which is visible in every corner of the city centre. Edinburgh Castle became a royal fortress in the 6th century, and Edinburgh Castle has since become an important royal residence and national administrative center.
