Red Leaves at Farm Tomita, Hokkaido ♥️
#redleaves
During autumn, Farm Tomita transforms into a beautiful landscape with vivid red and golden leaves. Famous for its summer lavender fields, the farm offers a new kind of charm in fall with its colorful foliage. The contrast between the vibrant autumn leaves and the farm's natural surroundings makes it a perfect spot for a peaceful, scenic stroll.
How to Get There:
💺By Train: Take the JR Furano Line from Asahikawa Station to Nakafurano Station (about 45 minutes). From Nakafurano Station, it’s a 25-minute walk or a short taxi ride to the farm.
🚙By Car: Farm Tomita is about a 2-hour drive from Sapporo. There is parking available at the farm for visitors.
🗣️Guided Tours: We booked a guided tour from Sapporo that cost $60 per person, which included visits to Farm Tomita as well as other attractions in the region. This option is convenient for travelers who prefer organized trips.

Visit Hokkaido in the height of summer to see the flowers: The complete guide to Furano's lavender
① Nakafurano "Color Fragrance Village"
►Check-in experience:
- Not many people come to Color Fragrance Village, one reason is that it's quite a distance away, requiring a climb up a steep slope; the other is that this quaint place is more of a niche spot, and large travel groups generally don't come here.
- After crossing a field opposite Nakafurano Station, turn onto a small path and slowly climb up, the destination is at the end of the forest!
Along the way, there are lovely little flowers and grasses planted by local residents
- Once you reach the lavender garden, you're greeted by a sea of purple!
Sunflowers! The sunflowers planted here are golden yellow, small and delicate, and particularly endearing!
From a corner of the flower field, you can see the distant Tokachi mountain range!
►Recommended visit: 2 hours
►Transportation: Take the JR express train from Sapporo to Furano
② Furano's most beautiful farm: Tomita Farm
► After returning to Nakafurano Station, I rented a bicycle and set off for "Tomita Farm," the farm of the Tomita family who persisted in growing lavender many years ago!
► Tomita Farm
- Composed of several flower fields, among which the most famous is the colorful flower field. It's like a luxurious flower carpet visible even from the moon, stretching straight towards the pine forest on the other side of the field!
- Unlike the singular scenery of Provence, Furano's lavender, set against various environments (colorful fields, large forests, distant mountains, blue skies and white clouds), presents various postures. It feels like a painting from any angle, with endless scenes to capture
- Continue cycling to a lavender field on the hillside, which is the oldest lavender field of Tomita Farm, giving a bit of a Provencal feel!
- The bike rental was scheduled for 2 hours, but I ended up wandering around for almost 3 hours before heading back.
► Town-run Lavender Garden
- When returning the bike, I took a distant look at the town-run Lavender Garden on the way, which is a flower field in summer and Nakafurano's ski resort in winter!
The word "Nakafurano" is spelled out with flowers in the middle, complemented by various colors of flowers below
►Recommended check-in: 3 hours
►Transportation: Rent a bicycle

A must-visit place, very beautiful scenery, professional staff, and the overall attention to detail is amazing! They really go the extra mile to delight their guests.
Free entry, free wifi are a genius ideas to attract people, and it is very difficult not to buy anything ☺️
You can get all sorts of 🪻 lavender-related products here. Very lovely place to wander round. We visited late October and there were still some flowers to view although not much lavender. Shops selling all things lavender and a cafe attached too with simple meals, melon and lavender ice cream.

Beutiful Flowers & More At Farm Tomita
Farm tomita is one of the largest farms in Furano and a day here is never enough. In fact, my family and I loved Fram tomita so much we spent hours and couldn't bear to leave it. Farm tomita has huge flower fields and these flowers were so pretty and they were of different colours and types. Then, there's also a large lavender field, which was a sea of purple and calming lavender flowers. The whole place smells heavenly and relaxing with the lavender scent filling up the whole air. Do buy their famous lavender ice cream, I guarantee you will love it. The special lavender ice cream was milky with a hint of lavender taste and it was a great dessert in the summer heat. Next head over to their melon fields and there is a cafe next to it selling their popular melons and melon ice blended drink. The melon was sweet, juicy and refreshing and it was the same for the drink. They were the best melon and drink I have ever tasted! Overall, love the atmosphere and experience at farm tomita. We will definitely be back here again!

Hokkaido's breathtaking field
Farm Tomita is one of Hokkaido’s largest tourist attraction site. It has various beautiful flower fields including the 5-hectare lavender field and other flower gardens. The lavender flowers were almost gone when we visited.
The best time to visit Farm Tomita is in late June to early August. During this time the flowers in the garden will be in bloom and a colorful sight can be experienced.
Farm Tomita is a 25-minute walk from JR Furano Station. There is a special “Furano-Biei Norokko-go” train that runs between Asahikawa and Furano from June to mid-September. The train stops at the special station Lavender Farm Station, which is a 7-minute walk to Farm Tomita. You can also take a taxi but it's difficult to find one.

#Perfect place to visit in summer.
Farm Tomita is one of Hokkaido’s largest tourist attraction site that brings in over 1 million people annually from all over Japan and the world. Lavender blooms from late June to early August. The vibrant purple scenery sprawled across Furano is a sign of early summer for Hokkaido.Sadly, I came here too late and didn't see the lavender.
At Farm Tomita, there are a variety of flowers grown other than lavenders. A pleasant view is offered throughout the seasons with various flowers. At the entrance of the farm is the Hanabito Field.
When Hokkaido finally enters spring in May, grape hyacinth and viola start to bloom. From early supper to autumn red and yellow flowers such as marigold and silver cock’s comb start to fill the fields.
*Access -It is a 25-minute walk from JR Furano Station to Farm Tomita. Also from June to mid-September the special “Furano-Biei Norokko-go” train runs between Asahikawa and Furano. The train stops at the special station Lavender Farm Station, which is a 7-minute walk to Farm Tomita.

Furano and Tomita Farm Day Tour
It was a nice tour. Tips for those taking this tour, wear shoes. Your feet will get really dirty. Bring also something to wipe your face with. During our trip, it was very windy and dusty. Our white shoes/ sandals turned brown 😅 the flowers are beautiful, but expect a lot of people.
The tour guide is good, but I found it hard to understand his English. His main language is Chinese and Japanese.
For the buffet lunch, it was just a regular lunch/menu, only buffet style. The melons are sweet, not so sure if they are really the expensive ones.

This sea of flowers can be seen during the Summer in Ciba, Prefecture, #Japan. It is said to be the most famous sightseeing farm in Japan, having lots of attraction inside the actual farm. It is so huge that it is necessary to ride a bus while touring inside. It was lots of fun. We saw cows, thousands of flowers, and sheeps!

When we arrived at Furano from Otaru, all we saw were bare or green fields. Our expectations were not high so we were extremely delighted to see brightly coloured flowers at Farm Tomita. Rows and rows of neatly planted flowers in rainbow hues greeted us. It is the first time we have seen such a colourful field. The place is huge and colorful with many kinds of flowers. Better spend more time there. I believe most of the time should be crowd with tourists. Parking was adequate in the vicinity and there were cafes selling lavender ice cream and souvenir stores. It is just next to the Melon place .

This place is easy to access with ample parking. The colours of the lavendar were just amazing. However, it was really crowded. But nevertheless one should visit.
There were quite a few shops and eateries on location too.

Hokkaido Furano: Lavender Not in Full Bloom in the Second Week of June!
I visited Farm Tomita, a stunning spot in Furano, Hokkaido! Since it's still early summer, the lavender was only about 20% in bloom... What a pity!!
We took some photos with the lavender fields, where the soil was the main attraction.
The lavender soft serve ice cream is a must-try for those who love mint chocolate! It had a wonderful aroma and was absolutely delicious 🍦 The lavender soda, on the other hand, was just about the color (haha).
The contrast between the flower fields and the Tokachi mountain range from the café terrace was also fantastic. The mystical scenery wrapped in morning mist is truly unique to early summer in Furano. It seems like it would be fun to visit at different times of the year!

Hokkaido 北海道, is the second-largest island of Japan and comprises the largest and northernmost prefecture, making up its own region.
The northern Hokkaido area is a popular sightseeing area at Furano, which offers countryside scenery and beautiful flower fields.
The area is also famous for its spectacular scenery.
Tomita Farm, located in Nakafurano-cho, this farm is one of the largest in the Furano area. The farm features colorful seasonal flower gardens centering on lavender fields. In the "Irodori Field," flowers in seven bright colors paint the gently sloping hills in rainbow colors. In the "Traditional Lavender Field," lavenders cover a slope of about 10,000 square meters.
Yoichi Distillery has remained the traditional way of distillation, characteristics of Yoichi Single Malt such as boldness and toasty burnt flavors are unique features of this distillation.

Checking in at Tomita Farm to join the fun, it is indeed very photogenic, but the lavender ice cream is not commendable
At 10 AM, I took the JR Furano Line slow train from Asahikawa Station to Furano Flower Field Station, which turned out to be a temporary station set up specifically for the lavender season. After a 7-minute walk, I arrived at the must-visit Tomita Farm, one of the most famous lavender sightseeing spots in Hokkaido. It is indeed very photogenic, but the ice cream tastes just average.
Lavender Sea of Flowers: The farm is famous for its vast lavender fields. Every summer, the purple sea of flowers decorates the entire farm in a romantic and dreamy way.

Must-visit in Hokkaido during summer: The lavender in Furano is blooming
If you travel to Hokkaido in the summer, you must visit Furano to see the lavender. When you search for lavender pictures worldwide, some that you think are from Provence in southern France are actually taken in Furano.
In Furano and Biei, there are many farms and flower fields in the summer. The most famous lavender field is Tomita Farm. It is very large, with vast lavender fields and colorful flower fields.
Because it is the largest, it also attracts the most tourists. Remember to avoid the crowds when taking photos.
Other facilities:
There are some restaurants and lavender-themed shops here, such as ice cream, fans, postcards, sachets, etc.
Flowering period: Early June to mid-August
Transportation: Transportation here is not very convenient, usually by chartered car or group tour.

Must visit in Hokkaido. Best time to go is during summer or spring when the flowers are in full bloom. Many people, but just jostle through them. Must eat their lavender ice cream for 400 yen and their melon bread for 350 yen. Very affordable and delicious. For melon products, there is a big building with melon signages right next to the farm. The melon soft serve here was fantastic, but the melon drink tasted too sweet and syrup-y for my liking. There is a counter to return your trash from the specific store where you bought from.overall awesome

A must visit place in Furano.
This place is like magic. Full of colours. Cute farm filled with flowers and shops that sell lovely products that are made with the lavenders harvested in the farm. It is also free to visit.
We had to do the touristy thing: 1) try the lavender ice cream , melon and the melon puff was amazing!
Highly recommended!
Our dream destination is to go to Hong Kong for my family trip as Hong Kong is paradise for food lovers, offering a wide variety of culinary delights. My family will enjoy it very much.
In early June on a weekday afternoon, there was already a very large crowd, and the number may double or more once July arrives.
Today, the weather gods have blessed us with superb weather; a lot of flowers have bloomed in early June, and the lavender is already budding, waiting to bloom in July.
The lavender soft-serve ice cream is really delicious, everyone should definitely try one. Additionally, there are Baron potato crepes and cantaloupes available for purchase too~
