Fort Canning Park
#singaporetrip Enjoyed learning all we could during our visit to this old and well-preserved park and property. Wonderful spice garden and historical exhibits. Don't rush and make sure you leave enough time to wander the paths and discover the many facets of this large venue right in the heart of Singapore. A nice place to spend your morning. The park has a great kids' play area as well. Please be mindful of the long queue at the famouse staircase if you wish to take your photographs there.

Singapore's "Nanyang Spirit"
Many people are already waiting at the popular check-in spot in Fort Canning Park in the morning
The weather is very hot
Watching the boats coming and going at the Marina Bay Sands Shopping Centre
The beautiful moments captured in the sunshine
The pedestrians coming and going in Chinatown
The strong Chinese atmosphere in the passing streets
The East Asian restaurant worth visiting, the shrimp noodles and bread are great!
The Chinese people I met are all kind and enthusiastic
Often see very old grandparents still working hard
They look very spirited and healthy
Perhaps this is the Nanyang Spirit

Fort Gate and OMSQ
#mysgmemories
Address - River Valley Rd, Singapore 179038 Singapore
Ambiance / Highlights - Old married soldiers quarters and fort gate
Rating - 4/5
The fort gate was built to prevent seaborne attack from the sea where the gate was facing. It is meant to protect the people from attacks.
The old married soldiers quarters is one of the places within the fort canning hill. My hubby and I were surprised to see such a place. It is a place that was build to house married soldiers. The place is almost a century old. As the soldiers have since left Singapore, the place is now used for recreational purposes such as concert or wedding venues. You will pass by the old married soldiers quarters after passing the fort canning gate.

Fort Canning Tree Tunnel
#mysgmemories
Address - 51 Canning Rise, Singapore 179872
Ambiance / highlights - Tree tunnel
Rating - 5/5
My hubby and I went to the fort canning park for a walk on the weekends evening. We came across the tree tunnel, which was absolutely amazing. When we were there, we saw a group of people busy taking images and posing on the tunnel. This is definitely one of the landmarks of the fort canning hill where people came all the way here just to take an insta-worthy picture and post onto their account. We too enjoy the amazing view of the tunnel. The tree tunnel is actually not very far from the doby ghaut train station. It is just less than ten minutes walk, and five minutes walk away from the bus stop. You can visit here to take a selfie one day.

Night Festival 2023 at Fort Canning Park
#mysgmemories
Fort Canning Park is usually secluded and quiet on normal days, however when night festival is happening, I love how there are people strolling around the pathways filled with fairy lights. There are also art instillations along the way to make it more fun. We were also lucky enough to come across the roving performance “We’ll weather the weather, whatever the weather, until we cannot”. These huge characters follows the colours found in maps which relates to what sailors uses in the past. In other words, they would like to remind us of our history in terms of our location. Remember to climb higher and spot other instillations! We even saw projections on plants!

Exploring fort canning park
#mysgmemories
Fort canning park is a well known park for National education. Most students would have a national education trip to the park during their school term.
It’s good to bring kids to fort canning park after the National education trip, so they can explore further as the park is huge. There is also a play ground for kids, a hidden reservoir at the hill top. Lots of artefacts to uncover and explore.
Highly recommended, and there is free parking on sunday!!

Fort Canning Park Singapore
Currently, the 18-acre park area is jam-packed with attractions, from ancient artefacts, and of course, greenery for nature lovers. In the morning you'll find lots of locals with their sportswear jogging around the park. There's a spices garden if you entered from the entrance gate near Central Fire Station. Located in Clemenceau Avenue and River Valley Road. It's so easy to find this place. Dhoby Ghaut Station is the closet MRT Station to Fort Canning. The Fort Canning Tunnel is right in front Dhoby Ghaut station. I arrived at Fort Canning Tunnel around 11 a.m and have to wait for an hour to get my turn to take a photo. So if you want to beat the crowd, better be there before 9a.m

This is a really nice park to have some good time with family or loved one. The only thing to remember before visiting this place is this place has lot of stairs to climb on and the structure of the park includes downhill, uphill roads. This place is really beautiful and picturesque.
My nephew and I had the pleasure of visiting Fort Canning during our recent trip to Singapore and we were blown away by this incredible historical destination. We spent around 2 hours exploring the area, but it wasn't nearly enough time to fully appreciate everything Fort Canning has to offer. We will definitely be returning in the future!

Fort Canning Park 🍃✨
This park is truly amazing. I think I could spend several more days here just trying to see all of the unique features and exhibits. The trails were well marked and ideal for a good workout. The revised Spice Garden is a wonderful addition. Be sure to check out the park at dusk or dawn as it has a unique charm at both times of day. 🤙🏼
The location of Fort Canning is simply stunning. The fort is perched atop a small hill, providing breathtaking views of the surrounding cityscape. We could see everything from the iconic Marina Bay Sands hotel to the historic buildings of the Colonial District. 👀
There are convenient and informative signs across indicating the significance of each location in the park, as well the names of the trees and their individual histories. You can complete a full circle of the park in an hour or so. 🌱
Overall, our visit to Fort Canning was one of the highlights of our trip to Singapore. If you are a history buff, or simply appreciate beautiful views and well-preserved architecture, then this is a must visit destination. We can't wait to return and explore more of this incredible site! 😍💋

SMU and Fort Canning Park
#singapore
The Singapore Management University or so called SMU is one of the well known schools within the CBD area. It’s situated just beside Fort Canning Park where people can take a walk or sit down and have some food or simply read a book. During my visit, there was an activity going on to celebrate the World Water Day. Students were encouraging people to save water and exhibits were available to illustrate how water is filtered and treated before ready for consumption.
This place is recommended for those who want to get a feel of what it’s like to study in Singapore. Have a stroll in the campus and talk with the students or maybe go to the Fort Canning Park area to catch a glimpse of nature. 😉

Fort Canning Park - a place of history
#newyearadventure
Fort Canning Park is one of Singapore's most historic landmarks, which is located in central Singapore. A former British military bunker and defence point, it had since being repurposed into a large green park for locals and tourists alike to enjoy.
One of the iconic landmarks is the Tree Tunnel, which is an underground crossing with a spiral staircase on the edge of Fort Canning Park. Many people came here just to take a picture of this - Instagram-able, indeed.
Formerly the site of the Far East Command Centre, also known as the Battle Box, Fort Canning Park still has plenty of historical artefacts and educational sights that one can see and enjoy. An interesting way to learn about some of the history of Singapore.

Historical Park Walk
This park is like stepping back in time. Singapore really manages to balance history abd tradition well with the needs of the modern world and this park is an example of that.
A former British military bunker and defense point, it's been repurposed into a large green park for locals and tourists alike to enjoy. You'll often see people dog walking and exercising here.
The bunkers and cannons are still present, in fact the bunker has been transformed into the #1 rated museum in Singapore. There are many remnants of it's military past with structures, stairs and ruins from 1920-1940.
This park is very hilly so expect some steep climbs, and a lot of the foliage and trees give an 'older feeling to the park. Raffles has a building nearby too
It connects to the MRT, has parking and nearby F&B.
Check it out, you won't regret it.
